B&B: Week of January 29th

I get that Rick thinks Brooke/Ridge, the 150th go-round is doomed. But it's like he has no CLUE that Nick slept with Bridget again after Nick married Brooke.

And I think everyone assumes that the long explanation reminding us that Ridge is a Marone, and Rick and Phoebe share NO blood relation just means DumbBell wants to go there.

Brad Bell is without a doubt the WORST writer in daytime history! What is up with all the incest? There is no buzz, no chemistry and Ridge/Bridget was a HUGE HUGE flop, both times! He has no imagination, no vision for the show. B&B is so boring and the stories seem to go in circles. The cast is the only thing saving this show right now. I'd rather have JER or anyone who would at least TRY. Beyond Rick and Phoebe being siblings, she AT THE MOST looks 15 and he looks 30...talk about gross! That along should be reason not to do this.

After that big casting news, I feel I HAVE to start watching the show now, but it's just so bad. I don't know how I'll manage. :(

I do like Pamela, but I don't want her ruined with Eric. He bores me and I wish they could find a better man for Stephanie. He doesn't deserve her. I also wish they'd bring Morgan back for Ridge and give Brooke a younger man. AND MORE CLARKE PLEASE!

Could someone tell me if it would be okay to put Clarke with Felicia? Those two great, wasted actors would probably rock together.

I was waiting for someone to bring it up! I'm simply amazed that Rick can take a few music lessons and develop that amazing voice like nothing  And I was a little surprised to see Phoebe singing with him. I had no idea she could sing. She's not half-bad. I'm not a fan of the Rick/Phoebe pairing. This couple screams INCEST!

I think this was the best version of Unforgettable that I have ever heard, both Lawder and Mawze have great voices. Can Jack Wagner ever open his mouth and sing again with some real singing talent on the show? I'm just so glad Amber is over on the sinking ship of Y&R and not on B&B trying to compete with Phoebe.

As for a Rick/Phoebe pairing it doesn't have nearly the disgust factor that Ridge and Bridget had. Ridge was the one who delivered Bridget into the world and changed her diapers as a baby. Rick didn't ever change Phoebe's diapers and he was barely around while she was growing up. I think thils is one way Brad can have his keep it in the family love and keep the audience. The ratings sunk really bad for Sicket and they still probably haven't lured back all the viewers who quit in disgust. I also like the idea of Ridge and Rick at eachothers throats. It is a way to throw in some conflict for Bridge without having a stupid triangle. He can save the Triangle for Taylor/Nick/Ashley.

Seriously, that hair has to go!

I can't stand to look at Kyle LousyHairder - acting wise, loving the Rick/Ridge conflict as well, he is okay. Better scripts than on DAYS seem to work for him...

Still, that HAIR! If Rick is such a mucho-macho why does he look like a drag queen with a BAAAAAD wig? Hairdresse, pronto!

I also still don't like the prospect of Phoebe/Rick and therefore hope Rick is buh-bye when he has put enough thorns to Ridge&Brooke's side.

Overall the show has gotten a tad less interesting over the last week. Before that it was can't miss.

Normally I appreciate character rotation but the lesser dose of Taylor (or Thorne for that matter) in the last week showed a decline in action on the show - even if Brooke/Ridge are mildly interesting at best.

But I can't enough express my worshipping for Ally Mills. Mastermind casting. LOVE HER. LOVE HER with Susan Flannery. LOVE HER at odds with Jackie (LMAO for that line "I hate her!) . Pam, Eric, Stephanie, Jackie - why can't more soaps feauture mature actors with such brilliant skills in frontburner roles?

    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
