I like Peter Bergman a lot, but come one, Tony Geary OWNED this year. Kim Zimmer, I would rank her top three alongside Susan Flannery and NLG. Very tight between the three of them

No way would I rank Zimmer anywhere near those two. Even though I think Flannery is kinda overrated too. As for Anthony Geary, IMO he didn't really own anything. Yes, he was good. But in particular I think Genie Francis and Julie Berman blew him away in that story.

Um, yeah, okay, she was in 53 episodes, and she had a special contract. That is definitely not a guest star and Kate definitely worked her ass off and definitely deserves to be called the best supporting actress by ANY magazine that puts a 2006 Review article. That's all I have to say. I can't wait for her to return in February.

Relax.

I am happy for Bryan Dattilo but I am not sure if he deserved supporting actor recognition. There are alot of people who had bigger roles last year that deserved that title and Bryan really didn't have anything notale other then the Carrie/Austin affair reveal.

I am happy for Jared Stevenson and he is good but I would've gave that award to Brandon Beemer myself. I guess that is nit-picking though so whatever.

The rest are eh. Best show title is hard because there really wasn't one in my mind. Every show was inconsistent. I honestly don't know who I would've given it to but I am not sure GH should've got it. They had their moments but I'm not so sure I would've chosen them. I probably would've gone with Y&R or ATWT because they were both good for me the first half of the year.

I don't like the Kim Zimmer choice. I would've went with NLG myself and Bergman I can't argue with. Geary was good but I think Bergman had more material this year.

Kate Collins I love so I won't go nuts about her being chosen but there was alot of competition for that title. I probably would've gone with someone else myself but I can't argue against choosing her.

I agree that Tony Geary certainly didn't own this year. He owned last year, but certainly not '06. Michael Park, Michael E Knight, Jon Hensley, Peter Reckell, and Peter Bergman all were miles ahead of Geary this year IMO.

I agree juniorz. Tony was good but all those actors mentioned did have better years in my mind.

That is not diminishing Tony's performances. He did awesome work, especially during Lulu's abortion and the Laura return, but it was a good year for those other actors and he just falls further on the list for me.

I really never understand when people gush over Dattilo. He's ok, but people go on about him like he's the second coming. I don't get it.

As for Stevenson being newcomer of the year? HAHAHAHAHAHA. Will Logan's friendship with JER *EVER* stop interfering with objective journalism?

Ugh, I can name 25 other actresses who deserve Supporting Actress over Kate Collins. Victoria Rowell is at the top of that list! Amazing only begins to describe her.

And I can name one actress who deserves it over those 25 other actresses. And that would be Kate Collins.

People, she was INCREDIBLE. She took what was supposed to be a camped up, ruined version of this character and sneakily put her own twist in there that made people feel for her. I can think of several parts where she nearly brought me to tears...anything from her last few episodes in jail and the mental institution...her reaction to the Mardi Gras ball explosion...and not to mention a lot of other great stuff.

Rowell and the others might have done amazing jobs this past year, but IMO, Kate Collins took what they did in 200 episodes and did it in 50.

I guess it's just difference in personal taste, but I saw some of what she did on AMC and I honestly thought it was embarassing. Maybe I let the horrible writing affect my judgement on the acting, though LoL

Well honestly - I think Minshew will go Supporting. She'll have a better shot - and one could argue that most of her material in the second part of 2006 was supporting to Dixie and Zach. Plus they just never put younger actresses into the Lead (except KeMo last year).

Cady McClain and Susan Lucci for Lead - Alicia and Alexa Havins for Supporting - those are my guesses. Bc Alexa is now old enough right?

Bobbie Eakes just didn't really have much this year - she had a few episodes that were standout - but other than that, I think the show's votes will go elsewhere this year thanks to Cady returning.

I really hope Kate Collins gets in there though - she is most deserving out of anyone IMO.

I want Alicia in the Lead Category but I feel she will go supporting too.

As to Kelli. She turned 26 in April so can only submit anything before April in the Younger Actress - everything else goes to supporting. But if I understand the rules right she can be like John Paul Lavoisier last year, and submit for Younger for those months. (He only had through March to submit but they submitted him.)

Alexa turned 26 in November so she can submit anything through November 16 in the Younger Actress. After that she can only use for Supporting Actress. That is the way I understand the rules.

Steve, The Daytime Emmy rulebook states that Younger Actor and Actress must be age 25 and under and proof of age must be submitted :)

Actually Kelly Monaco is past the Younger Actress age. On PC she was nominated for Supporting Actress

Bryan is a very underrated actor and when he gets good dialogue, he delivers. But apart from his finding about Carrie and Austin, and the Will missing scenes, I don't think that warranted a Best Supporting Actor. However, it's still good to see him get some praise.

Newcomer of the Year should have gone to Brandon Beemer. I haven't seen so many people (well at least on the Internet) take quickly to a recast like they have with him and it wasn't easy, since Jason Cook was popular (god knows why, he was not a good actor by any stretch of the imagination).

It continues to amaze me that GH is considered the best soap by so many in the industry. Why??? This show trashes characters to prop up Guza's Titans, rewrites history without a care, ignores its "true" vets aside from Tony Geary, and the hospital isn't the focus unless someone gets shot by the mob. I don't understand. None of the soaps were good and consistent all year, but for people to always select GH as the best is just plain dumb.

BEST ACTRESS Guiding Light's Kim Zimmer (Reva)

Over Nancy Lee Grahn

BEST ACTOR The Young and the Restless' Peter Bergman (Jack)

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS All My Children's Kate Collins (Janet)

Heard she's great, but she's been off the show for months now, while performers like Victoria Rowell, Lesli Kay, and others have done the damn thing.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR Days of Our Lives' Bryan Dattilo (Lucas)

Devon from Y&R. That boy makes me cry!!!

Not sure if he trumped the work of Kristoff St. John or Ric Hearst.

DISCOVERY OF THE YEAR Passions' James Stevenson (Jared)

Devetta Sherwood

Hmm...

BEST GUEST STAR The Bold and the Beautiful's Betty White (Ann)

Amen to that. Dru lights any scene. She gives it that edge. i mean you kant help but not to have your eyes glued to her because thas how she got it folks.

Zimmer has been amazing and deserved it.

For lead actor, hard to argue with Bergman.

For supporting actor, I would have gone with Jon Hensley of ATWT. He had his best year EVER in my opinion. Since there is no younger here, Van Hansis also had a standout year.

Supporting actress, I would go with Victoria Rowell.

Best show? A nine way tie for last.
