Days of Our Lives — Judi Evans fired!

Budget cuts continue to wreck more havoc in Salem than Stefano DiMera! Despite a big storyline involving Victor and Bonnie (they were to wed in the New Year in hilarious marriage of convenience that would turn into a romance), the Global/NBC sudser is cutting its only comic relief and letting Emmy winner Judi Evans go as the quirky Bonnie. Also departing Salem is Renee Jones’s (Lexie) co-star Rhassan Orange (Tek), who will help facilitate Jones’s departure later this month.

So if this is true and a Bonnie/Victor story had been planned and now has been scrapped, could it be because they suddenly needed to free up some money for someone else.....who was mentioned on today's show.....whose initials are ED......?????????

So upsetting that after three years, Bonnie was FINALLY going to get a story. Not only a good story, but a story, period. And as soon as she gets it... kaboom. She's gone. Can you imagine her ruling the roost at the Kiriakis Mansion?! Ha!

Thanks for the link, Kenny.

I guess the scrapping of the Victor/Bonnie storyline explains why the surrogacy story is still in a holding pattern. Most of the other stories started under Milstein have finished but Mimi/Phillip's baby is still out there. I wonder when they decided to change the story? When Hogie came in or later?

I'd get rid of Bonnie a million times over if it gets us Kristen back! ANYTHING that gets us closer to having Kristen back...

IF cutting Bonnie gets us Kristen back, it will be well worth it. However, a Victor/Bonnie story would have been great! If I remember correctly, HS hinted at this back in one of his interviews a few months ago so it does appear that it was one of his stories. So I'm very curious about why this storyline was dropped.

I knew they had something planned for Judi...too bad it fell through, even though it would have been odd to see her as Mrs. Victor Kiriakis after she was Adrienne Kiriakis.

Praise be. If Hogan was planning that dreadful Victor/Bonnie wed story, then he is truly not imaginative. Thankfully it fell apart. Mickey and Bonnie were horrendous. It would be one hundred times worse with Victor who is no moron and hasn't lost his mind yet. Judi was wasted as Bonnie imho.

Seriously Eileen NEEDS to be coming back pronto. She is exactly what this show needs. I hope we hear news QUICK.

I feel bad for Bonnie but I have to say her marrying Victor would have been a bit remnant of her fiasco with Mickey so I am happy that it ended up being scrapped. Not happy about Bonnie, b/c like everyone says Evans is GREAT in the role and she finally has purpose. But that's the way the cookie crumbles. Bring on Kristen PRONTO!!

I know. I keep thinking the next time I go to the Spoiler Island board, there will be a huge DAYS thread about ED's return. I'm starting to get reeaaaallly impatient.

I have to say the Victor/Bonnie idea is the only thing I could possibly stomach for that character, who I am glad to see go.

It does make me wonder if a number of HS's ideas for her, or Lexie, got canned b/c of the budget issue.

I disagree. The show has sh!t tons of drama going on right now, and it's going to be that way in the forseeable future. A little lightness is nice to even out the heavier tone. It just annoys me when the "light" scenes are actually "filler." The Victor/Bonnie story wouldn't have filler. It would've been lighter, AND it would've served a purpose other than to fill time. A win/win situation, IMO!
