Oh I am soooooooo enjoying these episodes that I have not seen in years. It is wonderful to see the love of Luke and Laura, but it is equally wonderful to see all of the other characters. Especially the original Edward Quartermain.

Oh I am loving these episodes! It's so great to see Leslie Charleson. She was (and still is) beautiful.

So far we have seen:

Psycho, vengeful Alan Quartermain

Stella the Quartermain's maid

Leslie Webber

Ric Webber

Jeff Webber (McGyver)

Susan Morgan (Jason's mom)

Hutch the Hitman (I always thought he was good looking)

Joe Kelly

Rose Kelly (the original owner of Kelly's)

Capt. Ramsey (the policeman who turned out to be the dirty cop. When this played out I was really surprised)

Boring Brian

Gail Baldwin (Monica's best friend, Wife of Lee, stepmom to Scotty)

Claudia (Brian's boring girlfriend then wife)

Ruby (Luke and Bobbie's aunt)

Dan Rooney

Tiffani

Amy Vine (Laura's sister)

Alice Grant (Susan's aunt, Heather Webber's mother, Jason's grandaunt)

Lila Quartermain (walking, before her accident in real life left her paralized)

Jessie Brewer

I just started watching this episode and noted in the end credits that Phil Sogard directed the episode and Sheri Andersen was one of the writers?

Also, it seems like the scenes are a little bit longer....

Back then, the scenes were a lot longer and there were a lot less commercials.

So far it has been wonderful to see all these old shows again.

So much stuff...

So many actors we lost...Steve and Edward, Stella, Aunt Ruby, Dan Rooney, Lila Q...kind of sad, but sweet to see again.

I can't believe how Alan and Monica look so young.

The old sets. I can't believe Mac's house and Sonny's penthouse has been around for over 25 years now.

Same with the Q's living room.

There's Amy with her original face.

Brian and Claudia...who I loved when I was little.

Didn't Hutch Hutchinson look alot like Damian Smith?

Jeff Webber...Rose and Joe...that ho Susan Moore.

I forgot how the Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan story drove this show back in the day.

After the 4 hour epsisode it was nice to watch Tony and Genie do a recap of the scenes that they did.

As they were watching the scenes, Tony said "I don't know how many times I called out Laura's name.. L...A...U....R.....a." Then Genie said, "Not as many times as I whined Luke's name!" And they both laughed.

The scene where they danced in the department store and Luke picked up Laura, Tony & Genie both said about the same time "up, up, up." This was in reference to Tony tell Genie to look up as his character picked her up and twirled her in the air. They laughed again. Genie said, at that time she didn't know how to dance, and she never went to her prom and that that scene WAS her prom. Tony said, "oh, that is sad" and he was sincere about that.

They talked about the fight scene with him and scotty at the wedding and how when he jumped off of the balcony he (Tony) thought to himself, oh no this is to high! They laughed again. Then he said, I couldn't do that scene anymore, I would need an escalator!!! They laughed again.

That 5 hour special was really nice a brought back a lot of wonderful memories. It was so nice to see other characters that fans really cared about. It also showed, how different the show is today.

Well done!

These episodes were great, I just had to tape them all. The L&L special was great as well, Tony & Genie are just so great together in whatever they do

My end credits cut off. Was the first one a Doug Marland?

yeah, that was really nice. I love watching old soap episodes. I taped the 5-hour special in addition to Wednesday's episode, so it's all on one tape.

I must say that things are really different now. I'm not surprised that long-time viewers feel let-down by soaps now. It's not even as if the acting and quality was a lot better then. It's just the whole feel of the episodes back then. It seemed like the people in charge cared more.

It was really interesting to see that, for the most part, everything is the same on GH in terms of families and sets. The hospital and Kelly's were still there. And then it was a lot of fun to see all the Qs when they were younger.

I love, love, love seeing all these old episodes. Besides the wonderful trip down memory lane, it puts the story of Luke and Laura into context for those who did not see them the first time around. Seeing the original Edward Quartermaine, Lila still vigorous, the Quatermaine maid all just thrilled me so much.

I was struck by the impressive quality of the reels. I recorded them on my dvr and even though I used a setting that allowed me to squeeze in as much as possible on a disk, it is still just gorgeous!

Thanks so much to GH and ABC for airing these!

That's something I've noticed with classic ABC soaps whenever I'd watch them at ****. They look so extremely clear, way clearer than a lot of the taped primetime shows of that era.

No. The first two from 1980 were from the Pat Falken Smith era. Robert J. Shaw was the head writer for the third and fourth episodes (the wedding).

I watched the special, but not the episodes. Now, keep in mind, I watched GH for about three months during the Lizzy/Nicholas/Lucky/Sarah drama summer, so I know NOTHING about L&L..........

I LOVED THE SPECIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! I can see why GH was the soap to watch in the 80's. You can also see the clear, clear, clear decline in quality of storytelling as time went on though.

But the hour of flashbacks and interviews was excellent. I got a little teary at the end! It was cute. I hope GH/L&L fans found SOME happiness out of this lastest Sweeps stunt. I think Genie will return full time soon.
