Courtesy of Meghan at Toni's:

In both SOW and SOD there are interviews with Eileen Davidson in which she talks about being fired. ED said she was not given an explanation for why she was fired. But she said she was not surprised and she had been telling Don Diamont and Peter Bergman for months that she thinks she will be fired but they told her no way. ED said that the show is a "whole different animial" now and the firing of Jerry Douglas made her think that she was next especially when Jack Smith and Kay Alden were also fired. ED believes that Ashley lost her bearings. She said she would ask the writers where was Ashley's "dignity" her "self respect?" ED was quoted as saying she did not understand why Ashley was constantly running after Victor despite his rejections. She said as a result Ashley became a character without integrity. She said that Ashley was obviously no longer integral to the show. ED said she was not bitter or angry. She thanked Y&R for the opportunity the show had given her. She said she might be open to going back to Days but being a full time mom would be a "dream."

In SOW Don Diamont is quoted as saying he was absolutely devastated by ED's firing. He had some wonderful things to say about ED and their friendship. SOW also resported that while ED personally told Peter Bergman and Don Diamont about her firing Eric Braeden was notified by Lynn Latham. EB said that LML did not really give him an explanation for the firing and he said he had no clue why the show would take this step. He blabbled again that he thought the show never resolved Victor and Ashley's relationship and that there should have been a Nikki/Victor/Ashley triangle.

ED said that Ashley will be written off by leaving town.
