I think Lauren Koslow's pretty safe. Had this news come a week ago and it had been another actress (like Julie Pinson), I would have said that Hogan stated he loved Koslow and Kate. He wants to write for her. Now, however, I don't know if I can trust Hogan anymore. He claimed to have big stories for Abe and Lexie. We see were that went.

I could see Julie Pinson, James Reynolds, Rhasaan Orange and Judi Evans all be candidates for the next set of pink slips. I can't see anyone else going. Sorry.

I have a feeling either James Reynolds or Josh Taylor, or both, are safe. Hogan Sheffer enjoys showing "cop shops" and competent (to a point, anyway)lawmen. He loved Hal Munson on ATWT. I don't see both being cut, maybe one or the other. I would prefer seeing Taylor leave. Maybe Roman could go off to work for the ISA or something.

The good thing about Days is that it's built up so many expendable people in the last few disastrous regimes. The Lockharts can all go, though the Mimi/Max story is going to be nice, and so can Tek, and Billie, and any number of others. I think Kate is fine, since Hogan seems to like her and have plans for her, but then I also thought he had plans for Lexie. I wonder if there's a story behind that. I guess I can see EJ killing Lexie for "family disloyalty," or spiriting her away.

I still think it would be a waste to lose Stephanie. I hope if Shayna Rose is fired, it's only for a recast, though I liked her.

I mostly agree with you Drew, except for the can't trust Hogan part. Even though nothing is for certain, I am almost positive that the Renee Jones situation was ALL Corday, and as you said since Josh Taylor is best freinds with Corday, it's so likely he won't get cut, we all also know Madison and probably Beemer are not going anywhere, so Corday took Renee Jones, sadly.

I really think Hogan wanted to write for Abe and Lexie, but Corday got in the way as he has done for sooo long.

I also think Annie Burgstede, Shayna Rose, and possibly even Jim Lunsford getting fired too. I know Burgstede has a three year contract, but I don't think that will last. Lunsford would be down the road, but I could see him gettinf fired in March or April of 2007.

Ademption....Brody was fired months ago and he's not departing until around february...So just because RJ got fired last week, doesn't mean she's leaving before the end of the year....

Oh, I know. I was just trying to think through why TPTB would tell RJ that she was fired a week before Thanksgiving and the holiday season. It's such a cruel thing to do. So I reasoned that maybe TPTB were forced to tell her last week b/c Lexie's exit was about to come up in the script.

I definitely consider Luciano a light weight contract. I think she even mentioned it. Evans is not getting paid for her talent or her years in the industry, and when she was taken for the role she was encouraging everyone to support her in her job search. She is getting paid for her role as a peripheral character who is not used a lot.

Pinson is probably making more than her because her character is more pivotal and she is definitely on more, probably more than Evans has been on total in her 3 year run so far.

IA with those that are saying that if the show is going to keep Judi Evans around, they should at least make her Adrienne again. I'm sorry, but I can't stand Bonnie.

I suspect TEK will leave with Lexie, but I don't see either one of them getting killed off. I also think Billie will take off and I think her daughter will go with her. I think both are good actresses, but they represent easy ways to save money.

I think EJ will become a permanent character and part of Stefano's family.

I wonder about Max, Stephanie, and Jack and Jennifer's daughter. They are all family and that limits romantic developments so some of them will have to leave to make room for new characters for those who remain.

I think Abe, Bo, Roman are all safe because of the cop shop connection. Hogan likes cop shop stories. I could see Abe leaving and them keep Tek, but I think that is unlikely.

So I think Bonnie, Billie, Billie's daughter, TEK and Lexie are gone. I think one or two of the young actors will be gone with Stephanie and Max the strongest candidates.

I think EJ stays and becomes a DiMearo (spelled wrong), Phillip is recast and perhaps we will start seeing the deaf kid and Nick a little more.

Actually Chelsea has more reason to stay than Abby or Stephanie, but with Mimi leaving and possibly Stephanie, Abby and Chelsea both are required for the current teens. Personally, I'd love for Mimi to be courted into staying.

Wouldn't it be funny/awesome if Lexie is being written out so she can like leave town to take care of an ailing Stefano. Much reference has been made to her lack of a job and that would certainly be full time. Lexie could also be proclaimed dead and revealed later to be with Stefano the whole time (after all faking deaths is a DiMera thing). I think there is a lot of room for Lexie and if it means letting her loose a little (and though I hate this whole budget thing), bringing her back on a less expensive contract then so be it.

Think the characters who will be the based keepers are: Bo, Hope, John, Marlena, Sami, Belle, Abe, Victor, Patch, Kayla, Abby for the new generation. The character EJ will be become the main draw, since the new writers created this character. Then new Phillip will also be it, since he's Hogan's creation. Benjy is another character Hogan is bringing back. I can see the other characters being dismissed from the show: the Lockarts, the Roberts, Max and Tek.

I doubt we'll ever really know for sure whose creation E.J. was. JER, the ghost writer, [s.W.S.N.B.N.] (lol), Hogan's, etc.
