B&B: Michael Lowry to join the cast

According to MBG Michael Lowry has been cast for B&B.

Could he be the new Dante or whats up with that? The male casting department is pretty strange these days. So much comings (and goings) recently... I also can't rule out that Deacon might return, who knows!?

Could the AMC viewers tell me whether Lowry is any good? What role did he play?

Looks like I'll be watching B&B again! LOVE Michael Lowry and wish he'd come back to AMC.

I dont think I can see him as Dante though bc he's not Italian. ASJ looked authentic in the role and I hope he stays in the role. I hope ML gets a new role but I dont see him staying bc the cast is getting full. I will enjoy him while he lasts

Now did you watch Y&R in the mid - late 90s - or not? Some boring flanell shirt boredom spreading ridiculous tackhouse-bound writer played by a simply emotionless woodfigure - does that ring a bell? :o And don't you dare mentioning his name or even worse posting pics! :P

@ Julia: Are you serious - Joe Mascolo a huge loss for B&B!? Next thing you're telling me losing Mario Lopez was also a huge loss? Sorry both actors never made it on B&B - simple waste of time and money. Getting rid of both was B&B's gain - not loss. Lorenzo Lamas ist still bold (I predict he will depart by the end of his contract cycle next January/February...) wheras Sabato can very easily say Adios. I won't miss either.

They already added ben Hogestyn and William DeVry. That awful Beacher Dax Griffin is also floatinga round in LA but I guess this role will end up short term or dead. He shouldn't come across Taylor's windshield. LOL!

    • I sometimes wonder if he’s even breathing.
    • I hit the Google Machine, and can't find Alex Alegria's (Tomas) age anywhere. Wow, I really disagree with this. I like that Bill plays against the typical bad guy. I think Maurice Johnson has been just fine -- except for that swaying. I cannot believe someone -- anyone -- on that set didn't give him a note. He should have been called out on that in week one. The swaying and swiveling never stops unless he sits down. I understand the need for product placement and the reason for it. However, it does feel wrong during emotional scenes. Yes, we're talking about the products, but it takes us out of those emotional moments, and GATES shouldn't be happy about that. They need to do better. Maxim said it better than I did. I agree. The writers have absolutely failed Ashley and Derek. I've abused both of them here, but I do place more of the blame on the writing. Compare what A & D have been given with the dialogue Ambyr Michelle is getting as Eva. We're not even in the same universe. Ambyr is getting writing that plays to her (many) strengths. She takes good dialogue and knocks it out of the park. Ashley and Derek are given garbage to play and garbage to say.
    • The Eva / Tomas scenes at the end -- to see a good actress having to play a scene with someone giving her less than nothing -- that was painful.
    • I thought the story had it’s moments, I much preferred the story once Greg was meddling, trying to keep her away from Tom Ryan. I loved them together!   And there was a story they could have developed from this. Laura stopped having a lot of scenes with the ensemble. She's the only one missing during the big finales of seasons 5&6, and I would have been cool to play on that! For one, Laura being a more cutthroat business executive just made sense to me. Also, the point I was trying to make regarding Mary Robeson was that I wish they had focused on a story from her family /background beforehand. You could play the Vin artist from many angles.
    • Nielsen Ratings for this same week 39 years ago May 5-11 1986. North & South Book II mini-series pre-empted a number of ABC shows. What the heck was NBC’s Fast Copy about?

    • I think the arrival of the Spauldings (Alan/Elizabeth/Phillip) caused the erosion of Sara's character on the show since Elizabeth took over Sara's place in the whole Justin/Jackie story.  Sara's brief marriage to another deceptive man sounded like it paled in comparison to the previous deceptive man story that she had played the decade beforehand.. and it was probably done because of the whole Alan/Jackie/Mike/Elizabeth cluster that took off story wise.   I know the show had introduced Brandy, the woman Justin cheated on Jackie with... but I don't believe she lasted more than a year.. and didn't make much of an impression. While the Dobson's were good at writing/juggling multiple characters/stories.. they weren't perfect though they did manage to make use of characters not in the front burner like Sara, Ann, etc. I do know that Sara/Adam looked to be starting up at the end of the Dobson era with a jealous/regretful Barbara looking on.. which played out during the Roger/Holly rape story and Hollys prison story.   I don't know if Marland was as inspired by that story when he took over
    • If you ever make it to the Paley Center in NYC (fka Museum of TV and Radio), in their viewing room, you can watch Days 1/1/73 featuring Denise Alexander as Susan. It’s her last month on the show before switching to GH.
    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
