Man, this season sucked. The Doomsday Killer wasn't even that interesting to watch - though some of the deaths were pretty cool (the 4 horsemen death and the bloody angel death). The twist that the professor was dead was predictable - I figured that out in the earlier episodes where the DDK and the prof were at the restaurant and the waitress only paid attention to the DDK, and the prof wasn't eating anything. Also, Deb is in love with Dexter? WTF!! That was so uncomfortable to watch. Deb seeing Dexter kill the DDK was a good, but not great, cliffhanger - I don't think Deb is going to find out that Dexter is a serial killer.

I totally agree with you that this season SUCKED. It was simply god awful in almost every way.

I actually do think Deb is going to realize that Dex is not only a serial killer, but the BHB. There is no way around it. He wasn't just killing Tom Hank's son, he was doing it in a very ritualistic manner. There are simply too many clues at this point for Deb not to see that this isn't a one off. No one kills like that unless they like killing.

It won't surprise me at all if she remembers that Dex saved her from Biney's similar kill room. She was wrapped up in plastic just like DDK. Plus she's bound to remember the Dex/Lumen kill room where she let them go. All that plastic is part of Dex's pattern. Everything is going to fall (including his social awkwardness/lack of emotion) into place for her now that she's seen him commit the act. If she does not put all that together than the writers think I'm dumber than dirt and I am over and OUT with this show.

Plus the whole reason that they had Deb fall in love with Dex is was to increase the impact of the reveal. I think it was a terrible, terrible decision. I would have much rather see her come to terms with what Dex is because she loves her BROTHER and because of Harry and Harrison. Not because she wants to bang him. Ugh!

Yeah, they didn't need the Deb is in love with Dexter twist. Him being her brother is still a big impact because that's what we watched. We never watched Deb being in love with Dexter, so that beat doesn't really work. Since the show will be be on for 2 more seasons, will Deb be Dexter's accomplice? I can see the last season being "the hunt for Dexter" but not the penultimate season.

I didn't like how Dexter let Trinity's son go. Dexter should've killed him.

I think it's possible Deb will choose to turn a blind eye. I cannot imagine her turning on him or hunting him under any circumstances. Especially not after she finds out about Harry's code. The wild card is that this show has changed show runners, since the first few seasons, so I don't feel as confident as I once did about where things are headed. That Deb is in love with Dex thing changed everything.

I have given the writers a pass for a lot of crap this season, but if Deb does not realize that Dexter is a psychotic serial killer, then that is just ridiculous. Even more ridiculous than Deb letting this incompetent shrink convince her that she is love with Dexter. Deb is a cop. She has to recognize the ritualistic manner of how Dexter has Travis wrapped up.

After processing the fact that Dexter is a serial killer and that their father knew, I expect Deb to turn a blind eye also. Other than killing Dexter herself, what else can she do?

    • This can be difficult for a soap to depict. So far she's only shown an interest in women. Will a man come into her life? If she commits to a male, there will be  backlash, but if it's women only, them where is the bi/queer aspect? Personally, I would have liked a single gay male on the show dealing with hook ups/relationships etc. Smitty/Martin married with kids is limiting in those terms.
    • Of course, how could I have forgotten those thrilling episodes depicting the fire? Also we had the GCAC rooftop set that came out every Summer. Moving on to Friday's episode. Victor is propped in his chair, answers his cell and tells the caller 'Let him in'. Seconds later Kyle enters. So does Victor have security on the front porch? It would have been better had Victor taken the call, and then said to himself 'Well Kyle, let's see what you have to say'and fade out. Next scene Kyle enters, indicating that the first call was from the Ranch entrance and time had passed . Nit picky but I get frustrated when they do stuff like that.

    • I don't think Chelsea has a true label just yet. She's just finding out she has an interest in women. I think the awkwardness is aligned with the character as we've seen. This is the fool who keeps filming her family when embarrassing things happen and live streaming it. I actually think it's refreshing she isn't just jumping into a relationship  and that they're playing the beats of her trying to figure out who she is.
    • Wow, do I agree with you. Chelsea is coming off as ridiculous. All she does is look for a woman to date while not caring about her business at all. That she's bi is great, but they're not writing her like she's bi. She seems to be lesbian. Yeah, I know -- "no labels." I just don't find the writing for her story to be anything other than awkward.   -- I hope we get some diagnosis finality with Bill's trip to the hospital. I don't want to see these trips to the ER every other day. -- Naomi is going to blame herself for Bill's health problems? GMAB. -- Ashley doesn't read as a real nurse in the slightest. -- Another day, another rinse and repeat conversation with Derek and Ashley. YAWN. -- Kat is making mistakes, but she's fun to watch and listen to, regardless. -- I still think the Joey/Vanessa/Doug gambling story sucks. I know Doug is deeply in debt, but I don't like him acting this meek and submissive.  -- I'm not sure what Joey's plan was from the beginning, or why he had to seduce Vanessa at all to get his way. I'm not sure what Vanessa ever saw in Joey -- why doesn't he give her the ick? -- I'm fine with a story where Doug and Vanessa take out Joey.  -- The fades to commercials were pretty bad today.
    •   Victoria's house (that she long ago lived in with Billy) burned down (I think Aunt Jordan set it ablaze?). Victoria briefly moved into the ranch after the fire, with Claire, Johnny and Katie, I think? Mariah and Tessa and baby Aria had been living in the tack house but they bought a house we've never seen and moved there. Victoria, Claire, and Cole then moved into the tack house as soon as Teriah left. I guess Victoria's children Johnny and Katie would live with Victoria at the tack house eventually? But Johnny and Katie went to boarding school during the school year. Not sure if we'll see Johnny and Katie for the summer vacation or where they would live.
    • Victoria’s previous house burned down.    And I know why characters frequent Crimson Lights 3 times a day for brownies, muffins and empty mugs:   THERE’S PCP IN EVERYTHING.
    • Today was a good episode, and the week for that matter. I think they've also done a better job with background music. The scenes in todays episode weren't as silent as they usually are in the background and it was noticeable. I think the show has found its groove well and I'm still invested.
