December 15, 200916 yr Member The show runner quit today. I wish they would get back Drew Z. Greenberg who is a fantastic writer and also a producer in season 1. Some have suggested that Julie Benz could join Harry as Dexter's advisor, however I hate that idea. She has been doing quite a few action movies since getting the role on Dexter, I don't think she'll be out of work long.

December 16, 200916 yr Member Woah!!!!!!!!!! What an ending!!! Man, if people read spoilers about that ending, YOU ARE A FOOL! LOL When Dexter called Rita and her phone started ringing in the house, I was like, "Oh no." Then Harrison starts crying.....and then we see him on the floor covered in blood......and then we find Rita dead in the bathtub! My jaw dropped and my mouth was open for like 2 minutes! If you go back and watch the scene where Dexter kills Trinity, it puts the whole scene in a new context. Dexter: I have a family too, Arthur. Trinity raises his eyebrows. Dexter: And I'm good....for them. Trinity laughs. Trinity: You're like a child. Dexter: A child with a big knife. Trinity: You dream of a heaven you'll never see. Dexter: I don't believe in heaven. Trinity: Oh but you do. This isn't your doing. This is God's plan. I accept that now....you have to do the same. Dexter: I accept nothing. Nothing is inevitable. Trinity: It's already over....It's already over. And when Dexter arrives home, he trips over the toy train tracks! What an awesome ending to a fantastic season. You know what's so funny as soon as I watched that scene I know there was something I was glimpsing about it that I was missing, so many symbollic subtext played so well by both Hall and Lithgow . This is why I love John Lithgow, he's so brilliant. When he glimpsed the monSter/killer in Kyle/Dexter I saw the revered, determined, feared Arthur turn into this frightened, anxious lil boy. WQhen they cut to the scene on the table the subtleties that came into play in that scene had me locked. Then the end came where he tripped, got voicemail, rng phone, heard phone ringing, went into the bathroom and boooom. Such calming tragedy, billiant. Didn't see that coming at all.

I'm really hoping Lithgow wins a ton a of awards for Supporting Actor in a Drama (Golden Globes, SAG Awards, Emmys).

September 18, 201015 yr Member I just watched this show, all four seasons... One was ok, 2-3 sucked bad, but 4 was fantastic.

September 18, 201015 yr Member Planning to start this show soon. I hear it's great and everyone says Season 4 is brilliant. Only reason i did is because netflix popped it up on a watch insantly and i had nothing to do at work. LMAO, that's where I'm planning to watch it, too.

October 27, 201015 yr Member Showtime's Dexter hit a season high on Sunday. The serial thriller drew 1.9 million viewers, up 9% from last week and marking the show's biggest audience so far this season. When you add Sunday encore airing, the show had 2.3 million viewers. Meanwhile the fifth season finale of E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians drew a hefty 4.1 million viewers, ranking as one of the Top 10 most-watched E! telecasts in the last 20 years. HBO's Boardwalk Empire was roughly steady with 2.8 million viewers. Comedies Eastbound & Down and Bored to Death both rose slightly to 1.4 million and 1 million, respectively. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blogs/live-feed/dexter-hits-season-high-32747

December 2, 201015 yr Member This won't surprise anybody: Showtime is getting ready to announce a renewal for Dexter. The show just had its second highest ratings ever on Sunday night, delivering 2.5 million viewers, up 43% from the fifth season premiere. That almost certainly means the upcoming finale on Dec. 12 is going to set a new viewership record. In 2008, Showtime confidently renewed Dexter for two seasons. That's not likely to happen this time, since key talent deals will need to be renegotiated before the show's seventh season. Expect the offical Dexter renewal within the next week or so. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blogs/live-feed/dexter-stalks-sixth-season-renewal-55289
December 2, 201015 yr Member You are right, it should. It will also have a new showrunner – Scott Buck. Edited December 17, 201015 yr by Sylph
