NBC DAYTIME TIES FOR THE WOMEN 18-49 LEAD AND WINS OUTRIGHT AMONG WOMEN 18-34 FOR THE WEEK OF OCT. 3-7

'DAYS OF OUR LIVES' AND 'PASSIONS' ARE #1-2 FOR THE WEEK AND SEASON IN THE VALUABLE WOMEN 18-34 CATEGORY

BURBANK, Calif. – October 14, 2005 – NBC Daytime has tied for first for the Oct. 3-7 week among women 18-49, marking the fourth week in a row and eighth time in 12 weeks NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 in daytime's key demographic. In the valuable women 18-34 category, NBC was #1 for the 299th straight week.

"Days of our Lives" (1.8 rating, 12 share among women 18-49, 1.9/13 among women 18-34) tied for #2 for the week among women 18-49. "Days" was also #1 among women 18-34 for the 523rd time in 530 weeks (including ties).

For the week of Oct. 3-7, "Passions" (1.4/9 among women 18-49, 1.6/11 among women 18-34) was #7 in the women 18-49 race and #2 in the women 18-34 category.

Three weeks into the 2005-06 television season, NBC is tied for #1 among women 18-49 and is #1 outright among women 18-34. "Days" is tied for #2 in the women 18-49 race and is #1 outright among women 18-34. "Passions" is tied for #7 among women 18-49 and #2 outright in the women 18-34 category.

According to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research for the week of Oct. 3-7, averages among women 18-49 were: NBC a 1.6 rating, 10 share; ABC, 1.6/11; CBS, 1.4/10. Women 18-34 averages for the week were: NBC, 1.8/12; ABC, 1.1/8; CBS, 1.0/7. In total viewers, averages for the week were: CBS, 4.1 million; ABC, 3.1 million; NBC, 2.6 million.

For the season, averages among women 18-49 are: NBC, 1.6/10; ABC, 1.6/11; CBS, 1.4/9. Women 18-34 averages for the season are: NBC, 1.8/12; ABC, 1.1/8; CBS, 1.0/7. In total viewers, averages for the season are: CBS, 4.0 million; ABC, 3.0 million; NBC, 2.7 million.

ABC’s Daytime drama lineup was No. 1 for the 39th-straight week among Women 18-49, ABC’s longest winning streak since the one ending June 2000, with a 1.7 rating and a 11 share -- delivering 1.1 million Women 18-49 for the week of October 3-7, 2005. ABC’s Daytime drama lineup outperformed CBS’ by 16% and NBC’s by 10% in actuals among Women 18-49. The lineup was up 5% versus the prior week among Women 18-49. Among Female Teens, the drama lineup was up 79% versus last year (most growth).

ABC’s full Daytime schedule was No. 1* among Women 18-49, with a 1.6 rating (* tied with NBC) and an 11 share — delivering an average audience of 1.1 million Women 18-49. ABC outperformed CBS by 13% and NBC by 3% in actuals among Women 18-49. The lineup was up 6% versus the prior week among Women 18-49. Among Women 18-34, the lineup was up 2% versus the prior week. Among Female Teens, ABC’s full lineup was up 85% versus last year (most growth). During the 1-3pm time period (the only two hours NBC programs), ABC scored its 39th-straight victory (including ties), ABC’s longest winning streak since the streak that ended in November 2001, with a 1.7 rating and an 11 share, delivering 1.1 million Women 18-49, beating NBC by 6% in actuals.

ABC delivered three of the top five daytime programs and won three of four time periods this week among Women 18-49:

· “The View” delivered a 1.3 rating and a 10 share – delivering an average audience of 820,000 Women 18-49. The talker was up 11% versus the prior week among Women 18-49, and outperformed the combined half-hours of “The Price is Right” by 7%. Among Women 18-34, the program was up 24% versus the prior week (most growth) and outperformed the combined half-hours of “The Price is Right” by 32%. Among Female Teens, “The View” was up 11% versus last week and 100% versus last year.

· “General Hospital” was the No. 2*-ranked program, scoring its best delivery in seven weeks, with a 1.8 rating (* tied with “Days of our Lives”) and a 12 share -- delivering 1.2 million Women 18-49. “General Hospital” was up 6% versus the prior week and 1% versus last year among Women 18-49. The drama outdelivered its time period rival, “Guiding Light,” by 45% for the week and by 57% season to date among Women 18-49. Among Women 18-34, the drama scored its best numbers in two months and was up 8% versus the prior week and 1% versus last year. Among Female Teens, the drama was up 97% versus last year.

· “One Life to Live” was the No. 4-ranked program of the week, with a 1.7 rating and an 11 share – delivering 1.1 million Women 18-49. “OLTL” outperformed time period competitors “As the World Turns” by 36% and “Passions” by 28% for the week among Women 18-49. Among Women 18-49, the drama was up 6% versus the prior week and 1% versus last year. Among Female Teens, the drama was up 144% versus last year.

· “All My Children” was the No. 5*-ranked program, with a 1.6 rating (*tied with “Bold & the Beautiful”) and an 11 share – delivering 1.1 million Women 18-49. The drama was up 1% versus the prior week among Women 18-49. Among Female Teens, the drama was up 3% versus last year.
