DAYS: Tuesday

My tape cut out on me right as someone entered the church so I didn't know it was Lexie!

I like how the writers included realistic touches at Austin and Sami's wedding, like Will and Marlena reading. Many real-life couples have family and friends do that.

I loved the Abe/Lexie scenes. He was trying to be businesslike but he was struggling with his feelings. Great acting by both James and Renee.

Oh KR you have to watch these eppies-they have been fantastic. Too bad you missed last week but this week is a must.

Today was fantastic. Flawless again.

Loved the heart pounding in the background and the creepy music as sami walked down the aisle. Loved the camera angles and the closeups of all the guests.

I loved how realistic the wedding was. I am so glad this wedding did not have people talking during it like the JER weddings did. Loved Marlena and Will reading and Will's speech. Gerse actually did a nice job with that speech today and he looked like he got a little choked up when he hugged Ali.

I loved all the reaction looks we got from Will and everyone in the church. Fr. Jansen's little speech was nice (especially when Sami said "miracle" when Fr. Jansen was at a loss for words). I also loved Kayla's line to Steve about the wedding and why people even come knowing her history-something about people coming to Sami's wedding just like people are drawn to disaster films  .

Loved EJ and Kate's reactions. Koslow was great with that today. Loved Chelsea wanting to leave and the looks between Carrie and Austin. It was hilarious when everyone expected something to happen when Fr. Jansen asked if anyone objected. Kate saying that the whole room is against it had me rolling and I also found it funny when everytime it looked like the wedding would be off Kate got excited  .

Loved Abe and Lexie today. Good acting there. Loving Tek this week and John undestanding what was happening was a nice touch. I wonder who Tek chased.

Loved my Bonnie too-I wonder if Bonnie may blow this for Mimi since Bonnie thinks the truth is out. Maybe she will spill to Shawn.

The ending was great with Tek chasing after someone and then Lexie walking in and Sami and her just staring at each other.

What an episode-keep em coming Days!!

I have missed reading your post KR. The show was great, and I can' wait to see tommorrows.

I enjoyed all your posts and don't have much to add. I laughed out loud at Bonnie's exit through the double doorway after learning that Belle, Shawn and Philip knew about Claire. It was hilarious.

EJ worries me. His expressions were very sinister. Did Kate thank him for delaying Sami? It was fun watching those two together.

What did distract me was John was on Marlena's right in several scenes then Roman was on her right. I also thought Marlena could have been more like the mother of the bride with warm beams at the couple, maybe even going over to kiss them after her reading, but she just walked straight up to the podium and straight back to sit down with a self-satisfied look on her face not even looking at the couple. That bothered me a lot.

The intrigue was palpable and how long has it been since we've been drawn in like this.

I thought Sami's dress was gold with gold threads for embroidery. It looked beauiful on her.

Another great show today. Absolutely loved it. Allison Sweeney is just wonderful and just gets better and better. She is growing so much as an actress, that she doesn't even have to speak to convey her feelings. She has always been good, but she just keeps getting better and better. I loved her vows and the things she said to Will and all.

Great show!!!! Keep it up Days.

I disagree that Marlena was cold and impersonal by not going over to touch Sami after reading from the Gospel. Some people are just more formal than others and I saw nothing wrong with it. Take Austin grabbing Will's arm at the beginning of the ceremony. I bet all of you thought it was cute, whereas I thought it was a complete and utterly CHAOTIC motion that set the tone for an equally chaotic and uncivilized ceremony. And I could've done without Will's stupid, "And that's not according to Corinthians" line. And his talking one-on-one to his mother in front of a whole congregation. Yeah, it was cute, but I would NOT want all that touchy feely crap at my wedding.

Steve, glad to see you are enjoying DAYS again! ;)

Yes, the EJ glances were sinister and scared the crap out of me. I'm concerned that he'll turn out 'bad.' :(

And MY GOSH, was it any MORE OBVIOUS that Eej is working for or with or on the side of Kate? The way they sat together just sealed the deal. It's obvious.

As for Marls, I thought she breezed by that Gospel a little too quickly. It was like Deidre had a problem saying Holy words. I can't imagine why; she was involved in the most religious storyline ever in soaps history (the Possession). I can't see why she all but gritted her teeth through those lines.

JSF, I may be way off but Deidre seems unhappy onscreen.

You may be onto something, Kirk. But I can't imagine why she'd be pissed at "Days." Remember how posters mocked her OVERTHE TOP happiness upon her return? (Personally I loved that, by the way). So I just don't know if she was going for "solemn" with reading from the Lectionary or whether she was just going for Atheist who doesn't want to read Scripture but something was up!

I dont really think shes pissed at DAYS, she just seems unhappy and different. I can't really put my finger on it though. She might just be going through a rough patch in real life, who knows? I am not trying to start anything, I love Deidre as an actress. But to me something is off with her.

OH MY GOD.

I cannot believe I didn't comment on this.

When the priest asked if there was anyone who objected to the wedding.

Um, that's a Catholic church right? I'm pretty sure they don't even use that line anymore!! Someone told me that.

  • Member

The last several weddings I've been to, the priest has not asked that question. I'm assuming DAYS does it to make the wedding more dramatic.

Also, at the weddings I've been to, people who do readings don't touch the bride and/or groom afterwards.

Deidre was off in Monday's episode as well. Either she's playing Marlena as indifferent on purpose, or something is off in her personal life.

I HATED that moment. It wasen't cute at all. It was unnatural. Things are supposed to focus on the COUPLE at a wedding (hear that Langan? Not a wannabe princess or two sisters and their zillion could-be-boyfriends) and it just disturbed the otherwise decent feel of the wedding.

That was odd? Personally I didn't find anything wierd about it, but then I only went to church when forced and threatened to have my grade pushed down.

Well, she's going through a crappy as hell divorce but I don't think she seems different. If anything, she's glowing. She looks amazing.

I loved the moments with Marlena and her girls in the bridal room, and I wasen't surprised that they didn't have those "glowing, happy mommy and daddy" looks because Roman and Marlena both think Sami and Austin are wrong for each other (heck, Marlena just asked Sami if she wanted to marry Austin, she knows).

I was surprised that they had Marlena read from the bible though. Marlena's never been overly religious (nor is Deidre very religious I belive), but I guess it fit the ceremony, so... It just seemed off.

I would think the religious aspects would be tough for some actors since they may not be of that religion or of any religion at all. Deidre didn't really seem off to me. I just took it as she was choosing to play it lowkey and indifferent since the wedding is not about her and Roman and Marlena made it clear before the wedding that they didn't really think Sami marrying Austin was the right idea. They think the couples are mismatched so it worked for me.

Deidre probably is going through alot with the divorce and all but so far I have seen nothing wrong with her acting. I don't even think she has been off and, if she has, maybe she wasn't feeling well or had a bad morning or something. I thought she was fine though.
