Theresa excellent points. The getting comeuppance vs. writing it off thing is such a disabling issue also. That's why I made my love points on two levels, there are characters she loves that she writes as flawed (in McTavish's case that just means she does two extremes rather than one, heh) and their are character she loves that she writes as eternally "perfect" no matter what they do (the one extreme). Thus again it's almost better if she doesn't really, really intensly love your character - not that simple love and/or hate is much better (except hate can lead to backburner until a regime change, heh, which just might be a good thing).

Okay, you guys are asking for this aren't you?

Bianca: So, Your Honor, now Babe Chandler will be able to raise her son -- if you grant her custody -- and that makes me very angry. Because after all the misery she caused, the last thing she deserves is a happy ending. It's taken me a long time to get to this place [pfft, I've held a grudge towards my mailman for being a few hours late with the mail for much longer]. I finally got my happy ending. But I lost a lot to get it. As I look around this room at the faces of the people that I loved, I remember how they kept my child from me for months. I don't know how I can ever forgive that. Maybe I never will. But I also remember two young women, both pregnant at the same time. For me, it was a chance to turn tragedy into hope. We shared a dream of a future together. Somebody told me that Babe didn't set out to hurt me. She makes horrible mistakes out of love, and I don't know if I'm ready to accept that, but I am starting to understand it. Babe didn't lie to me because she hated me. She lied because she loved J.R. so much. She couldn't bear to take his child from him. That's Babe. Everything that she does, right or wrong, it comes straight from the heart, even when it hurts like hell. The same woman who kept my baby from me risked her life and her unborn child's to save mine, to deliver my baby, and to get us help, and then she did the same thing in Florida. Babe had her child. She could've run off and never looked back. She could've let J.R. raise my daughter. But she risked losing her son, she risked prison to make sure that I was finally reunited with Miranda. So many people act out of hate or revenge. It's easy. It's human to put yourself first. But not Babe. She runs on pure love, world be damned. Am I angry? You better believe I am. Do I forgive her? No. [Pfft, please!] Let me just say that again. I do not forgive Babe. But do I believe that she's the best parent to raise her child? Yes, I do. No matter what Babe's done to me, and no matter what I feel about her, no one knows how to love like she does. And that's why, Your Honor, I urge this court to grant Babe Chandler full custody of her child.

UGH! That speech Bianca made was unreal! It makes her sound like a Stepford wife.

If you knowingly keep my baby from me for months (whatever your motivations), I never speak to you again!

Yeah Charles, I was getting the whole "jesus" vibe when watching the end of that scene.

I love how at the end Bianca looks like a crucified Jesus. Was McT going for that?

Oh, for the love of-- Seeing it almost two years removed from the whole GBS drama, I can safely say that was the most plot driven, contrived piece of [!@#$%^&*]...

JR supposedly shoved Bianca THAT hard that she goes hurdling like a Tasmanian Devil toward the railing and BREAKS IT?!

All that, and yet -- no broken bones.

Well JR shoved a ton of building material on top of 100 pound Kendall and not only did she not even have a broken fingernail (much less a broken bone) but she didn't even have a bruise.

That's because when Kane women get shoved/fall or things are pushed on them, only their brain is damaged (seeing as how both Bianca and Kendall lapsed into comas).

Perhaps they have sturdy bones but a big ole soft spot on they heads? :P

While I agree with lots of this to go back to the original point I think Simone has always hd probs on the show because of how she's been written--nd I think for once this isn't McT's fault.

WHen Culliton created Simone (as part of his endless, severla years long lasting umbrealla Proteus story which hd some amusing moments but ultimately made no sense to me) she was a savvy reporter (and then a HUGE cryer--remember her dad the psych at the hospital, the mess with her brother who's still in a ocm somewhere, Frank Hubbard filming her brother ODing, etc). Then suddenly under Rayfield she was turned into a man hungry FLAKE. Purelya comic creation. McTavish I think tried to sort keep elements of both Simone's but make her a bit more credible. So I'm fine with that as I love the actress so much

but it's true McT for whatever reson has never found good story for her

Every HW has favourite characters. The question is - does this favouritism make him write great stuff for those people? Eg., Hogan Sheffer adored Lucinda Walsh but failed to write a decent story for her in his 4 year reign as HW.

Correction: Hogan said he loved Lucinda. We never had proof.

She only seems to like Babe who has hogged up the screen.

And KWAK...ugh :angry::angry::angry:

The difference is Babe kidnaps a baby and Bianca goes to court and says Babe equals the meaning of love after barely a week of anger. Babe kidnaps a baby for almost a year and they twist complex JR into the son of a satan with hair and mustache and a chorus of dozens of characters singing it to match to show it's somehow "his" fault Babe is a kidnapping shrew. Babe is staying at a company she got out of revenge because she kidnapped a baby yet she's lecturing people on pushing boundaries to gaina cceptance with saintly music surrounding her. The only characters that really get to dislike her for the baby thing that were considered not-so-evil (but "evil") were Kendall/Erica.

Thank you for this. For pointing out the lunacy of the BabynapperHOBabe.

She does seem to love Babe, KWAK and Ryan, who are all airtime hogs. I'm not convinced she even likes JR even though he's also an airtime hog

The only reason he could be an airtime hog is because of his "star" factor. Same goes with Thorsten Kaye. She is much more concerned with making Babe look good than J.R obviously.

Anyone who denies that Megan loves to write for Kendall is just...well...I don't know what to say. Kendall has been constantly on the frontburner THE ENTIRE TIME since she returned in 2002, four and a half years ago. She's had like 9 or 10 different love interests/sex buddies in that time. She's constantly being painted as a victim when, many times, she deserves equal blame for the stuff that happens to her.

If you say that about Babe, people will tell you that they agree and that it's the truth, but say it about Kendall, and it's overreacting.

So? Just because she's front burner doesn't mean that McTrash loves her.

That's why I'm convinced McTrash doesn't like Kendall. Yes she's the victim-CONSTANTLY. Babe has also been a victim, but at least no characters have had to be trashed because of Kendall like they are Babe, Dixie and Ryan
