I read that McTrash was forced to do Rylee. Frons thought Cam and Rebecca had chemistry and were the next up and coming thing or something like that, so to him I guess it made sense to pair up their characters

I don't know what McTrash was trying to do with Ryan and why she turned him into a ragemonkey, but I don't think she thought it would do that much damage to Ryan. She must have thought Cam was so popular fans would forgive his character easier or something

Yeah - when SMG first began playing her back in the early 90's....

Which is another reason why so many people say she re-writes her stories from the past...bc pretty much Josh's arrival (Colin E.) was the same as Kendal's - she was working for her mom and tried to destroy her. It's just Kendall knew and Josh didn't....but still kinda similar.

Right, the who killed Michael story was VERY VERY VERY close to the superior Who Killed Will Courtland story too

McTavish is also being forced to do Zendall as well so its no wonder she wants to screw them up.

McT AND Frons are/were hellbent on getting Cam an Emmy. That propelled The Monster, imo. That and McT's gigantic hardon for The Lavery Saga. It was her first and a rare opportunity to share the gift of the Laverys with the world since Brother Braden went a rapin' a Montgomery Woman.

But then, Whoops! Perhaps Mr. Mathison is not an Emmy-caliber actor and can't carry your epic? And what if his romantic coupling is not a popular as you'd planned? What if the largely female audience isn't too keen on some half-cocked *ahem* Roid Rage ditty? And what if the success of Sir Lavery's pairing was dependent on tearing down to attempted suicide, arguably the most popular character on the show and one of the heirs to LaKane herself, Kendall Hart? Why what could possibly go wrong? It's ratings gold! How could the audience not have taken to it?

The story was silly to begin with after Ryan had shown no violent nature before, right? Assholey, controlling and McGrabbyhanding, yeah sure...but not get off on it-type physical violence like Fight Club (I can hardly type it without ) and towards women? Shaddup, McT. Really. Shut. up.

Her writing is like one giant never-ending Freudian cautionary tale. Repeated endlessly. If only ole Sigmund were alive to analyze and neutralize her issues. But then, Some times a BabyStealer is just a BabyStealer.

I still say, McT's massive ego and viewer disdain leads her to believe she can write herself out of any story corner or audience repellent and she probably enjoys the challenge. She needs that confidence and "ability" since she keeps her job by creating sensationalistic horror of one form or kind when she wants a ratings jolt. She is unfortunately, rather good at it and it works for a while but ultimately, it's a storytelling philosophy built on diminishing returns. Here's to Frons' cashing her in and damned soon.

It appears I'm in a mood tonight. :P AMC and ABCD are workin' my last nerve lately.

"But I'm tired of the cycle of something coming between them, them doing a lotta talking, and then that's it, they're back together. I want more action between them. I want to be SHOWN how much they love each other, not TOLD."

My " Rylee Antennae " went up the moment Zen told each other repeatedly in their scenes that they loved each other . Imo , a really good daytime couple do not have to reiterate this . I thought Zen had amazing magnetism in their scenes at first . But in retrospect i think it was the ' will they/ won`t they" sexual tension that was their draw for me . In true Moonlighting tradition , once that was dissolved they started to fizzle or at least appear to be badly written . I thought the balloon note scene was written laughably out of character and unworthy of the coming together of such an anxiously awaited couple . Such an excrutiatingly slow build up deserved a more satisfying finale imo .

Wait, wait, wait a minute... Balloon note scene? What balloon note scene? I'm concerned because in my web soap, there's a scene I'm working on right now involving balloons and a note, and I wrote the breakdown back in December 2001 and I don't want anybody thinking I'm ripping off McTavish of all people.

She already beat me to the punch with Bianca falling off a hotel balcony in 2004, even though I penned a breakdown of a similar incident in 2002.

Zach and Kendall's divorce episode, they wrote New Year's resolutions and tied them to balloons. Personally I loved it, showed how romantic both characters truly are ;)

...And that is why I love them. Zach knows why Kendall acts that way so he can get past the methods she uses. He understands her motivations because he is just like her. And Kendall loves that he knows how her crazy mind works. That was something Ryan never got. He was always trying to change the way she acted. Look at how he dumped her because she didn't want to work with the woman who almost sent her to the electric chair. How unreasonable Kendall was... ;)

Exactly!

Exactly! Zach "gets" her as Ryan even admits. Ryan could NEVER accept Kendall for who she is, or he would have never treated her like dirt on the bottom of his shoe if he had.

Ryan basically dropped Kendall for having the nerve not to view his decisions as Gospel. He decided he was going to be friends with Greenlee no matter how much she had been gunning for Kendall, and that was that. Kendall had the brass to say, "Hold up! !@#$%^&*] almost sent me to death row. Hell to the naw!" and he just dropped her like a hot rock and ran to Greenlee... who, if you notice, went along with everything Ryan said like a good little Stepford wife. But if you notice the trend, the minute Greenlee started getting ideas about what she wanted for herself out of their marriage (KIDS), here goes Ryan -- joining fight clubs and driving himself off cliffs.

She dared to disobey! She had to be punished.

But for me, "Life Without Ryan" is a holy blessing -- not a punishment.

And the fact that he had just been forced to kill his homicidal brother had nothing to do with him thinking he was unfit to be a father I suppose? Or indeed his abused childhood?

"Bless you, AMCZF! Nothing like my idea at all! Hallelujah! "

Glad to hear it . T`was horrendous!
