ATWT: Week of Aug 28 Discussion Thread

I'm starting to believe Kevin may be gay.

DruRocks, everyone does seem accepting of Luke. Either times have really changed or the writers are taking the PC approach. I'm as liberal as the next person, but Luke's story has stalled. The readiness of those around him to embrace his choices undercuts his reasons for keeping quiet.

I love ATWT so much. Definitely the best soap out there. Today's episode was amazing....thank god for time shifting on satelite so I could catch it today!!

I loved Maddie and Casey today. Finally they get it together! Please, please, please don't let him be dead!! I want these two together so bad!

I love Carly and Jack too.....loved it when Jack dumped the wine down the sink. I hope they don't have Carly sleep with Simon because that would really ruin it for me. Don't mind them flirting around but please don't ruin Carjack!!

Another great show today. ATWT should be #1 again this week. I have not watched all the other shows, but I know that even though Days has been good this week, I have enjoyed the excitement of ATWT a lot more this week. I know this story is a little campy and a rip off of the slasher movies, but I think it is really good. And it has been a good story for the teens. Alexandra Chando has been wonderful. And I love the Gwen & Will backstory in it. I am glad Casey and Maddie got back together too. And the show handle his stabbing very well.

I still think yesterday's show was the best of the week so far. The Snyder scene was just such a good balance yesterday.

Before I forget it, I actually enjoyed the Paul and Meg scene today too. They were pretty good together.

I LOVED that one blood covered marshmellow Gwen first saw. I think TPTB are just having too much fun with this.

At first I thought it was a finger!

-Alex did better than Geneva. Geneva might've been a better actress throughout InTurn, but for someone like myself who hasn't seen it she's rather bland.

Alex was a flashy, memorable character while Geneva was one of thirty random teens running around.

Anyway, I'm tempted to vote for Ian. Here's hoping TIIC make him a love interest for Luke.

-Oh my! Paul and Meg were actually tolerable today. Paul and Meg are soooo much better without Emily, and Emily is so much better without them. This stupid story has to end NOW!

-Will's annoying me. He's chasing Gwen like a stalker and throwing pointless comments. STFU.

I believe Alex's body is the one tied to the keg floating in the lake that the guys pull in.

NO SPOILERS!!!!!

Only Jade and Lucinda really accepted Luke right away. It took Holden months. Lily was just figuring things out when she went into a coma. Damien tried to de-gay him and left town telling Luke he wasn't a real man. I think they've shown us all the sides of it.

I'm convinced Kevin is gay. I've always thought he was one way alone with Luke, which is why Luke fell in love with him, but has this desire to be popular as well, probably due to a lot of family/father issues.

Holden didn't take that long, soon after he was very accepting. Lily did take awhile, and then suddenly she forgave him and fell down a flight of stairs. Damien was just stupid, with Damien the story shifted away from Luke and was about him.

I was expecting Emma to have problems with Luke's homosexuality, especially how in the past how she had a problem with homosexuals. I know Luke is family, but it just would have made a better dynamic.

Luke's story is still good but now it's looking too black and white.

Everytime I see Van Hansis in the role I feel truly blessed that Jake Weary left the show. There is no way he could have done this successfully.

This is seriously a great week for ATWT. Lots of love and reunions alongside breakups and painful discussions, and let's not forget all the drama and campiness up at Raven Lake. I adored Maddie and Casey's reunion, and was so relieved that she finally told him the truth. He stepped right up into hero mode, too. Excellent.

The juxtaposition of Luke trying to save Kevin and Casey trying to save Maddie were great. And the bloody marshmallows cracked me up, although Gwen's pained, real-feeling reaction sobered me right up. Her gasps and moans were even better than her screams, and Gwen's the best screamer of the teens! :)

I haven't watched InTurn, but I loved Alex in his scenes and the bonus footage of him at the end. I'll definitely vote for him, he seems cool and he was the uber geek! LOL! Loved that outfit.

I was ready for the slasher story to be over, but this Raven Lake stuff is GREAT, I love it and I know I'll love this week.

Luke coming out to Kevin was great! Loved the Gwill scenes as well as anything with Casey. BTW, who is the guy he's in scenes with? I know the girl is Ann, she's growing on me. Did these two come from InTurn as well?

The Margo/Tom scenes were insanely shocking and such a joy to see. I really hope we're on the road to seeing Tom and Margo as real characters once again. Things are looking good, but I try and be realistic when it comes to vets on this show...

Ann has been on the show for a while. She was Leah's best friend when they came on last year. She just was never a regular.

THURSDAY:

Ahh, this slasher/Raven Lake stuff is getting intense now that all the characters know there is a killer on the prowl.

Poor Maddie - it's like the Michael Meyers thing - once the slasher sees Maddie - he WALKS after her, not runs...lol

Aww, Luke saved Kevin's life - I can't wait until Kevin knows this.

WOW - lots of vets today :)

I'm liking Terror on Raven Lake too...my grandma, however, is one that doesn't get into all the slasher flicks, so she has been fussing up a storm since this storyline has started.

Oh I can imagine - I'm sure most of the older fans are not enjoying the story IMO. This is ATWT's way of getting new, younger fans though - and it's working for me.

Aww, I was a little disappointing in Gwen and especially Will's reaction to Casey being 'killed'.

:lol:I know. After I saw that, I wondered if the slasher would suddenly appear in front of her after being at least 100 feet behind her two seconds before like Jason Voorhees.

Getting Maddie to talk is like pulling teeth in the 1800's. Damn! Can they drag out that she is NOT the slasher any LONGER. All the teens still think she's the one slicing and dicing everyone.

Why is the camera jumping all over the place during the Kevin/Luke scenes?

I've got to say that I haven't been this continuously on the edge of my seat for an entire week of soap opera in my entire life. I literally have not a friggin clue how this is all going to turn out.

Umm - where is Jade today? She just chillin' out in the woods alone? haha

As cheesy as this is going to sound, it would be really cool if they complied this storyline into a disc....

What would really be good and top this whole storyline off is to hear that heavy breathing sound like we do with Jason and Michael Meyers, just as they are approaching their next victim
