I don't think today was that bad. Sami and EJ were cute. I prefer Sami when she's having a good time---and not at anyone else's expense. James was really screwable today.

The close-ups on the folder were a bit much, but I'm glad that Belle and Shawn and Mimi and Phil are finding out about Claire this week. If JER were still here, we'd have a whole damn week of people not seeing the folder or picking it up and not reading it.

I guess I am in the minority but I thought the hospital stuff was boring and that Sami/EJ was the highlight. I will admit it is a bit too much but I like the lightheartedness and the fact that Days is just giving fans something for fun. It is a nice ode to the bad karma Sami always gets on her wedding day. It reminds me alot of Hope's wedding in Christmas 2000 when everything that could go wrong did on her way to the church. It is just there to entertain and I agree with Keith that it counteracted the hospital stuff nicely. I liked yesterday's wedding stuff better but I liked today too.

Other then the good stuff with Bo, Hope, and Shawn and the ending the hospital stuff was boring. Nothing new happened with Mimi, Pinson and Melvin were good but nothing new there, and I am enjoying Brandt but other then that meh. I liked the Bo/Hope scene where they talked about going to the wedding-that was cute and the ending with Belle was a good one except for the SFX.

I think Days will be fine in the ratings for this week. The Shelle promo for this week is enough to either keep them stabile or to improve. The ratings stayed stabile last month when the Shelle stuff was front burner and the quality of the episodes this week has been great so that should be enough to keep things positive. I could be wrong but I think Days will be fine and will hold on until next week when things get really good. These last two days have been ok but far better then that we were getting. It will get better-the show has been on a real high of late so I am ok with it.

I am in the minority too. I thought the comic relief with Sami and EJ was a big improvement over the ER scenes. There have been so many Salem characters in the hospital recently, it was hard for me to work up much interest outside of Kyle and Rachel, both of whom have been doing a great job recently. Am I the only one who finds Chelsea more likable than Belle? I may be in an extremely tiny minority with that opinion. I also think that the ratings will hold. The show may not have anything special happening, but the dialogue is better and the energy level of the show is higher.

The recent scenes with Chelsea make her seem fixated with Shawn and Belle and Claire. It's like they are her ideal family and she wants them fixed. To me, it seems core deep, not "what will this get me", as she has always been enamored of Shawn. I thoroughly enjoy her when she is not plotting damage to anyone, and even then she is worth watching. Belle is still a mess. I love Philip, I'm over Shawn, Shawn, I'll never give you up....which way does she fall, whichever way she's facing at the moment. This needs fixing, too.

i just heard on the Days Cafe board that they might be recasting Chelsea....anyone hear anything about this? I will be pissed if this happens..I'm loving Rachel Melvin..

I don't want all these familar faces to leave and Days to be overpopulated with recasts....Shawn, Phillip, Chelsea..

Now onto the show, i thought it was pretty boring..except for the bo/hope wedding talk and the end with Belle...I'm guessing that Beth is only allowed to wrap up old stories and not start new ones..

My thought was it would be the surrogate for Mimi and Philip's baby, but I've heard it's for Shayna and now they are after Rachael. I still prefer to believe it's for the surrogate whom has to have a part in this show.

Rachel Melvin has really grown on me... a lot. She has improved so much and I don't want to see her go.

Melvin is going nowhere so I wouldn't worry too much. Like someone said, it is wishful thinking by some who hate the character.

Now it could always be for Shayna as reviews on her in places seem mixed. I guess it could be for the surrogate too. If it s 20 something female actor could it be a recast for Mimi ?

What has happened with the Johnson family? The only mention I've read of them is Steve knows something about Eve.

Speaking of Eve, I think Tek would be just as likely the one to be murdered. In fact, maybe even more so. I sort of enjoyed Eve and wanted to see more of her and how her story would unfold. We know Tek is going in some manner.

The talk about Shawn's drinking problems of the past certainly would make you think that he will have a bout coming up. If Mimi should die, he may try to drown his sorrow and then go through the recovery period. See, this is wishful thinking on my part because I want Belle and Philip to stay together which means that Kyle would have to be offered something he couldn't afford to refuse to stay.

I'm not so sure we're the "minority" anymore because I enjoyed Sami and EJ's scenes, too! It's great to see her having a great time and I agree that it was a GREAT homage to all her wedding disasters. It really makes you wonder, "What will become of this try at the altar?" But I must say, with all that's going WRONG with Sami's wedding day it reminds me of Charlotte's on "Sex and the City." And how her mantra was "the worse the wedding day the better the marriage." I'm starting to think Sami will pull this one off!

Oh, and by the way...

How come NOBODY questioned EJ's explanation for his initials?

Is he REALLY named Edgar?

If so, that means NOTHING to the fans, and we can't fine the Salem connection.

I hope he was lying or something because people on this board have made some great, Salem-driven names for those initials.
