People don't tune in for "young, fresh, and new." Teens with the attention spans of gnats tune in for "young, fresh, and new." And they tune out a week later when the new Laguna comes on.

Lucas, EJ and Max are all more interesting than one of Austin or Carrie to me.

The Austin/Carrie story this time makes no sense and is not interesting to me. How did it all happen? Sami decided she needed a consolation prize after losing Lucas, and that if she couldn't have Lucas she had to have Austin? That's stupid. She knows she's still in love with Lucas, knows he's still in love with her, knows she doesn't really love Austin but has decided she just HAS to have him so she can have SOMETHING now that she's lost Lucas? What kind of person does that? That's dumb even for Sami. The way the story was written, Austin and Carrie could've been any two people, because the story's really about Sami and Lucas wanting each other. The story has never been about Austin and Carrie because someone knew they were not interesting enough. And that whole Bob/Ted/Carol/Alice thing the four of them have going, living together and pretending there isn't all sorts of bad history and acting like perfect friends, is REALLY weird.

Then what was the rationale for getting rid of talented actors in the serial killer story?

I agree although, like KR, I enjoyed some early parts of their return. I didn't like how quick they reunited but once they broke up and finding their way back to each other aspect began again I was happy and was enjoying. They were boring as hell in the spring but now they are good again but there is nowhere else to go with them once they reunite.

So, everyone is saying the A/C story sucked, and they want them gone - regardless of what a new writer can do for them.

But when Abe, Lexie, Stephanie, EJ stories suck....you guys want to see what a new writer can do with them.

Nice.

touche....the fresh, young and new scene is snicking up AMC right now.

I'd settle for some realistic and dynamic characters (Shawn, Belle, Steph, Chels, ect have a long, long way to go)

DAYS can use their demo's as a defense for their dumb moves all they want. But DAYS catered to teens once before.

Langan, anyone?

Again, I think it has to do with the fact that a lot of those actors can act with good material. Austin and Carrie...well, I don't wanna be indelicate, but...

I don't care much for the actress playing Belle and I think if Belle, Shawn and/or Phillip have to stay on the show then they should all be recast. There will always be a twentysomething set. Meanwhile, Austin and Carrie are NOT twentysomething and have been gone for a long time, AND their story is a dud AND their acting is not so great. On the other hand, Stephanie and Max are new, have connections to families, can act and are ripe to be explored.

I feel bad for the actors, they got fucked over. But the characters was DESTROYED by JER. The writing really hurt the character, and its sad.

Carrie was a whinning !@#$%^&*] throughout the whole storyline and Austin acts like a hypocritical jerk.

I just mean she isn't played out. I think it is refreshing to see some new faces. Maybe you don't like EJ, Steph, Max, etc but there are many that do so and to make the assumptions that these characters aren't nothing to write him about is kind of unfair. You don't like them fine but others do.

I love ya KR and know you are upset and I hope all this heated debating doesn't make you mad at me but I just can't agree with most of your points in this thread :) .

AUSTIN AND CARRIE ARE PLAYED OUT!!! What more do you want us to say? lol There is nothing that the two of them can do. They were written as a prop for Sami and Lucas this entire time. Like someone mentioned, JER wrote them as a destined couple. The fans want to see them together. It's not believable when they are seperated because they love each other so much. That's why the affair storyline was so horribly wrong with the fans. No one would believe Carrie would cheat on Austin and now it's happenign all over again, only this time, she is cheating on Lucas. Carrie is ruined, plain and simple.

How are they played out? DOZENS OF US ARE WRITING EXCELLENT STORIES FOR THEM IN OUR BLOGS!

Phoenix, if you think Max, Stephanie, and EJ are going to counter Jen, Jack, Austin, and Carrie in fans' eyes, then you are so delusional! Sorry, but that's just the worst point I think I've ever seen you make.

And before anyone says "but you hate J&J!" Again, I will repeat - getting rid of two super couples in less than two months is just DUMB. And Jen was leaving anyway.

We also make severe changes in our blogs that could never happen on television. There is a MAJOR difference between a fan fiction and actual television.

date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025 | Jamey Giddens, Danielle Paige | Steven Williford Samantha, accept the fact you were in the wrong and do not deserve your digital devices. Do not like it? Go upstairs. Read a book. Do some knitting. Bradley and Martin's "we get it" to Tyrell was hilarious and absolutely a parent's thing to do. Loving a bit of history of both the Duprees (via Eva) and the Hawthrones (via Izaiah). So cute. Poor June. I am sure she did not purposefully mean to mess up; we have all been there working in customer service. Shake it off and keep on keeping on! Not twice a week for Vernon's cobbler order... Sharon must be using that as payment for their meetings. I appreciate that Ted still cares about the Duprees despite the end of his marriage to Nicole. Not Dana using Peaches' crisis as a way of taking Ted's attention away from a co-worker. Girl, do not be so obvious. Bradley is a man after my own heart with a simply divine chocolate milkshake. That is the way to go. Dana really needs to dial it back. Money will not buy her everything she wants and she will realise it soon enough. And I doubt Shanice is scared off by her idle threats, either. "With all due respect, Ms Thomas, this isn't a shopping mall." Oh, Dr Wilkes just owned Dana's arrogant ass. I love it. Wigs and personas? Okay now, Shanice ate with that read. I like that June assured Bradley that she will not replace him or Martin in the twins' lives. And that blood does not make a parent. Words never rang more true. Jessica reading Samantha was amazing. Dana would want to involve Ted. Her obsession is crossing beyond dangerous boundaries. Not Dana catching Vernon leaving Sharon's room at the country club. That is not good. Not good at all! Notes: Ugh. Not another breakdown from writer2. This week was going so well. Thankfully, Paige is an outstanding scriptwriter (one of this soap's best), and her words today are excellent. The food at Orphey Gene's does look bomb, so I do not blame any of the characters for uptalking it. I would eat there daily if I could. And gain hundreds of pounds, too. David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) continues to make me sick watching him, but he is nice to listen to. I still really like having June as the central person hub at Orphey Gene's. That familiar face you see when you walk in and have scenes. Dana wanting a second opinion means we could have an incoming doctor, right...?

    • I am sure "no one cares" and it's not a big deal to some people, but this thread is full of certain posters calling out women's ages, their viability to have children at like 35, and their nail polish, but we celebrate everything Chandler Massey does and applaud any male shirtless scenes.  And then posters walk back being like it's just a joke and weren't serious lol.
    • I'm so glad she's still on the show. Seems like she may have dropped a hint about the real source of conflict between her and Dee, too.
    • I don't know how reliable the information is, but from what I've read, he joined GH in 1977, and Alan (who started airing in September 1977) was one of his creations. That should have been enough time to get the show in better shape by the January 1978 episode we saw, but then again, shifting from a 30 minute to a 60 minute format is a big transition, one that requires a lot of filler scenes like Monica having a long flashback to a scene that must have only played out a few weeks earlier.
    • I agree. She said, "I do," and then decided, "I don't." I wish Nikki Abbott had been a longer duration. I wholly prefer Nikki with Jack than I ever have with Victor, and today's episode proved that. And I never minded Ashley with Victor.
    • That one really bothered me. The chemistry was still very much there and then she married Jack and immediately ran off to find Victor. It was such a slap in the face to anyone that was a fan of the pairing.
