Frank’s flexing again. 🤦🏾‍♂️ No reason for this guy to have had a role created for him on an already over bloated canvas. I was a Beastmaster fan and liked Goddard as Cane during his intro story and pairing with Amber during the LML Y&R era. It was when Lily became chained to him and DG and his fan & bts pot stirring antics started to border on distasteful that I started having no use for the guy. Hopefully the time off humbled him properly.

Today’s episode has been great. Finally we get to see the high society side of the show and the rule the Dupree’s have over it.

Robert Adamson in a since deleted tweet revealed that Michael is currently being recast and he (thankfully) wasn't invited to test again. Chad Duell apparently just wiped the show from his bios on social as well The character is definitely needed IMO, too bad they already missed out on Billy Flynn.

I’ve been watching again since Luna had Steffy in the cage and I quite enjoy it, much more so than YR and Days. The show is decently produced campy fun for me which as someone who only started watching in the 00s is the standard I hold the show to and nothing more.

I still enjoyed this last week for the most part but I think some of the critiques in here are valid. I’m still giving the show a long grace period because it is a new soap, but I do hope we see some major onscreen shifts sooner rather than later, like late Summer early Fall at the latest. Especially for the parts of the show that are just flat out not working and for me there is about one too many to keep excusing past a certain point. I thought the Naomi vs Bill law suit drama worked well. Yes its bad to keep having Naomi’s attorney client meetings at a diner and even worse allowing her clients to continuously meet at the opposing counsels office and without their attorney present. I’m willing to hand wave that kind of stuff when we get so many great scenes amongst the Hamilton clan though. Naomi and Bill going at it leading to his health scare, Chelsea vs Hayley, Naomi vs Hayley, Chelsea finally having a one on one with Bill, Dani comforting Naomi, and Dani and Bill playing cat and mouse was all great stuff IMO. Chelsea’s actress is stronger than I’d initially given her credit for btw. I really enjoyed Caroline being in the mix with the law suit as well, her and Bill’s dynamic is fun to watch and I like her closeness with Hayley. I don’t care for Doug, his actor or this weird bromance with Joey’s sidekick Randy but I do enjoy Joey and Vanessa together. They have really strong chemistry and I’m curious just how dark things can get with Doug being in Joey’s tangled web and trainer man getting more and more jealous and aggressive. This is the story I hope they let go Guza wild when the time comes. I also liked seeing more of Vanessa and Nicole’s friendship and how protective Nicole was. Daphnee Duplaix really is the series MVP imo, she’s such a strong reliable presence, she even played that P&G product placement with ease. I appreciate that they just let her spray the Febreze instead of adding some cringe worthy ad dialogue btw. Funny how Nicole is all up in other peoples business but has no idea about the infiltration of Eva and Leslie into her family's lives. This story was severely missed this week since Ted and Nicole mostly played supporting to Vanessa. I also surprisingly wanted to see more Martin, Smitty and their family crew as well. I agree with those who still feel Martin would work better being Anita and/or Vernon’s son instead of Nicole and Ted’s. The show has laid enough groundwork with Kat being a miracle baby that I’d accept some kind of messy backstory that ended with Nicole and Ted raising Martin as their own child to avoid a scandal but if they left his paternity alone I wouldn’t be mad about it. Andre/Ashley/Derek were once again the worst part of the show for me, I audibly groan every time they pop up in an episode. This pivot towards a hospital documentary is more laughable and cringe than the other prop heavy crap they’ve been given since the show started. At this point I want all three characters gone, because none of them work writing or acting wise for me. Move Shanice into Ted and Nicole’s orbit and dump everything and everybody else.

That’s a funny April Fools joke. I know the fan base hates that version of the theme song but its actually my favorite (that 1993-1994 era is also one of my favorites to rewatch as well).

This last week was very good. I think a lot of the cast has finally settled into their roles and the stories are moving at a good pace. Really enjoying the setups for Bill vs Naomi in the courtroom, Dani’s continued spiraling, Jacob dealing with corruption in the police force, Joey’s cat & mouse games with Doug & Vanessa, and Leslie and Eva’s unhinged revenge plot. Eva, Nicole, Kat, Leslie, Dani, Bill, Anita, Vernon, Nurse Shanice, Vanessa and Joey are the stand out characters for me after this first month. Their actors deliver good performances consistently and feel the most fully realized as characters. Naomi, Jacob, Chelsea, Hayley, Martin, Smitty, Tomas and Ted can be uneven acting wise but I’m invested in their storylines. I didn’t realize Andre, Ashley, and firefighter weren’t on until @Cheap21 pointed it out, I hope this is a sign and their airtime continues to decrease going forward. Has anyone else started to think Nicole might actually know about Ted’s affair and maybe even encouraged the abortion payoff? The mention of Kat being her and Ted’s miracle baby makes me wonder if Nicole could have given birth to twins and Leslie may have actually stolen Eva too. I’m locked in for wherever this story goes either way, by far my favorite of the show. I don’t see how preferring a show not have all of its scenes and dialogue drowned out by their background music means contempt for the genre or being snobbish. I love a good musical score but there is a thin line between enhancing a scene and overpowering it, current day GH and DOOL for example don’t have a good balance at all IMO. I appreciate that BTG has allowed for quieter moments. It allows for the acting and dialogue to breathe and gives BTG a unique feel to the other US shows, reminds me of the UK soaps.

I have not cared for the show under Drucker at all so I’m glad to see this change. Noel Maxam has done great work in daytime I’m curious to see what his leadership vision looks like.

DMing fans a save my job petition is crazy. This is reminding me of how Michael Muhney and Daniel Goddard were moving when they got fired from Y&R I hope Maurice peeps the line he’s toeing and chills out.

Great episode today. Felt awful for Avani and that last sequence with her telling Priya about the strip search then Priya going after Jack and Avani running off distraught was excellent acting and directing.

Another strong episode today, first one I’ve liked from RC and DP. They really showed how in the weeds a lot of the characters are. Dani and her day drinking and needing stans to boost her head up, Bill dealing with his creep partner and missing his daughters, Martin and his ego and nightmares, Chelsea wanting to be free of Dani’s control of her career etc. They ripped the bandaid off of most of these by the end of the episode too which was a fun watch. Vernon seems to be Dani’s biggest enabler. Him sitting with her to talk about Bill and Hayley while she’s about to drink first thing in the morning was sad. Especially when Anita joined him and told him Chelsea was about to crush the only thing he felt is making Dani act right. I’m glad Chelsea is finally telling her mother the truth. Martin was so rude to Anita and Vernon, yeesh. I hope Smitty drags him now that he knows about the want to run for President Naomi pulling up on Bill just as he receives notice of the sexual harassment lawsuit against his firm was the highlight of the episode for me. The actors have great onscreen chemistry as father and daughter adversaries. I hope we get a full out court room battle with this storyline. Looking forward to tomorrow

I think Maurice J just wanted to flex “hey I was number 4 on the call sheet” which is an accomplishment and one I’m surprised he was given considering the resumes of those listed right below him. I hope Keith Robinson can bring more leading man presence to the role. For me Timon KD and Clifton Davis are the only actors bringing it on the show, the women are running laps on the other guys.

That’s even more reason to have a better prepared statement ready just so things wouldn’t get this messy but whatever. I still think the onus is on Maurice for fanning the flames with the reposts. Its cool when people are ragging on the show for getting rid of you but not so much when they start writing narratives about you, your former costars and work ethic and the lies make their way to prominent gossip blogs.

I can’t believe this show has disgusting ass Sandra Rose making up crap about it for clicks lol I like Maurice but his slightly messy reposts and likes are what led to this. He opened the door to disgruntled exit allegations which made people run wild with theories on what may have happened. All we really know is that his standard 13 week soap contract cycle came up and he was replaced but now we’ve got theories like “he was never the first choice” “he didn’t get along with Daphnee” and “he couldn’t hack the work load” being spread around like fact. The show should have prepared a pr statement for him to use when the recast announcement was made, it might have quailed some of this speculation. Now its gonna be endless mess until he or someone from the show clears it up.

Good episode today Vanessa and Joey interacting was a nice surprise, there is definitely chemistry there and much more interesting than her scenes with Doug and Diego. I guess Randy made sure Doug got some winnings at the casino but clearly Joey is about to put a stop to that, what a predator. Jacob didn’t waste anytime snitching on his partner lol, at least we know he’s right. They’ve done a good job setting him up as a high moral character who will likely end up having a identity crisis when he realizes how much corruption is around him. Elon is a strong male addition to the show that was needed IMO. I liked the way he checked the now confirmed crooked cop Marcel for how he was treating Jacob. I feel like we saw a different side to Anita in their scenes together as well (slightly manipulative and flirty outside of Vernon). Naomi and Anita talking about the case against Bill’s law firm then trying to come up with a rap made for good family scenes I loved everything with Chelsea today as well. The social media stuff still surprisingly works and I loved her scenes with Kat and Jacob trying to figure out how to deal with Dani. Chelsea and Jacob might have more chemistry than he does with Naomi btw 🤫 The actor playing Tomas is still weak but he does have decent chemistry with both Kat and Eva so far. I laughed at Eva doing the bend and snap to get his attention 😂 and he was good with Kat when her nervousness about being a virgin came up again and she asked for more physical intimacy. This Eva vs Kat feud is like a ticking time bomb and I think I enjoy it the most of the show

I can’t remember the last time a recast was announced and the overwhelming response was people asking why two other characters weren’t replaced first 😂 I do wonder what other changes we’ll see at the 13 week mark. If Ashley and Derek are still hogging airtime come summer…💀

How disappointing this wasn’t an Ashley, Derek, or Martin being replaced… I peeped Keith in a behind the scenes video with Andre’s actor during premiere week, had no idea he’d be joining as the shows first recast lol. He is a great actor so I look forward to seeing his take on the role. Good luck to Maurice Johnson he’s been a good champion for the show and he worked well onscreen at least.

I laughed at Jason telling Carly her relationship with Jack is over 😂 these characters are in their big 50’s still doing the toxic life interfering merry go round. Lucas giving Carly hell for sticking beside this clown was good too I’m glad Ava told Alexis she’s enabling Kristina’s delusions at this point. I’m ready for Kristina to go fully unhinged at this point, her scenes with Lucky and Dante are the only other times she’s tolerable. Loved Lucky telling Liz he’s not going anywhere, hopefully he sticks by that and we get happy LnL2 for a minute. Daniel Cosgrove is oozing sleaze in this councilman role. I support anyone giving Laura hell tbh and Drew does need an ally. I’m really enjoying Portia being blackmailed by Drew and her odd little friendship with Ava. BK deserves something fun to do and dare I say she and CM have decent chemistry. I’d be here for a Portia and Drew rump after everything blows up and Curtis dumps her for or cheats with Jordan. Curious to see what Nina finds in Drew’s safe. Trina and Kai remain a snoozefest I had no idea this was the same person, wow….

I think Brad Bell is starting a succession plan for Bold and Heather Tom and Lawrence St Victor are apart of it. Congrats to HT for making history

i enjoyed Chase having a go at Lulu on Brook Lynn’s behalf lol, first time his character has been interesting to me. I hope they use this Dante and Brook Lynn secret baby plot to activate a more dangerous and scheming side to him. I can’t remember the last time I was so unbothered watching one of my favorites on their deathbed 😂 Been loving the moments of Carly with Felicia, Jason and Sonny though. I need Carly to dump Brennan ASAP this loser couldn’t even shoot a bullet at Valentin at least? Alcazar and even Jax would never be such punks. Honestly none of this Valentin stuff has worked for me. I don’t get why Sonny didn’t kill him, why he came back to Port Charles, the weird scenes with Lulu and Laura, whether his telling Sonny that Brennan was behind the med swap is a serious retcon or just his character lying, etc. Its all just a convoluted flop for me. The rest of the show feels like its just aimlessly plodding along.

Is this Frankie V using the cap space losing Jeff Kober provides? 😂 When I see Cosgrove I think back on that run in the 00s where every long running show he’d join got cancelled. Its a miracle Days is still chugging.

The episodes with Ron C (and Gregori J Martin) credited for writing have been of noticeably poorer quality for me. Pointing that out doesn’t mean automatically not trusting MVJ or wanting the show to fail, its just calling a spade a spade.

Did you mean Andre instead of Ted? I don’t see how Ted would factor in their story in that way. Overall I disagree and don’t think its harsh at all. We’re going into the fourth week now so I think its more than fair to point out what is or isn’t working on the show at this stage for us as viewers. With the amount of screen time and focus they’ve carried so far, Ashley and Derek are a complete chop on every level for me, from acting to writing and chemistry. When they come on I feel like I accidentally changed the channel to a show I immediately want to turn off. I do hope they get better but that triangle the show is setting up with Andre ain’t working so far either. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Agreed. GH needs a better lead in or a stronger viewer timeslot placement in the lineup.
