I’ve been about three months behind consistently since Daisy left and but I saw that Carl ends up sleeping with DD’s brother lol? Hilarious and exactly what Abi deserves. I can’t stand Kevin tbh but cheating with his brother while he’s going through cancer and Debbie’s fighting dementia is just trash.

This was my initial thought when I saw Tamara Braun’s casting and now this lol… Roger Howarth helped secure Jill’s GH promotion back in the day and we know how loyal she is (until you get in contract talks and get tired of being overworked). Definitely feels like JFP flexing and putting the other shows on notice that she’s back.

Is this the first time TB and JFP have worked together again since GH? I hope for Tamara’s sake they at least give her a legacy character to play. I probably will tune in when she starts airing.

Honestly Alfie still seems pretty pathetic to me, barely able to discipline Tommy and keeps leaving it to Kat, the weak partnership with Harvey, and now with how he just lied about his cancer coming back to hide the mess with Zoe. 🤦🏾‍♂️ I hope Kat dumps him soon tbh and really wanted them to pair Kat with George (but at least they slid Nicola his way).

I hope more markets move it back, I wait for the Hulu uploads now but when I watched it on broadcast airings I’d wait to catch the ABC NY airing so I could watch Beyond the Gates before, made for a better soap lineup viewing.

I’ve heard people say this was Maxie’s best love interest so I’m curious in that regard but wow they’re making sure Britt and her family are anchored heavily on the canvas.

This Brennan stuff makes Carly seem a little too dumb for my liking. Reminds me of LW’s Cassie on Guiding Light circa the Edmund and Jeffery era. I’m a Laura Wright Carly stan but i don’t know if I could’ve seen Sarah Brown or Tamara Braun’s versions ever falling for this guy while he’s pimping out her daughter as a spy agent and not snuffing him out immediately. This Sonny and ADA Brenda Bot 1000 is very half assed. Pair him back with Nina or do something with Alexis at this point and call it a day. I didn’t realize how connected Britt was to the canvas so on one hand they’ve been smart to be doing all this recapping but on the other I also don’t care about her, this storyline, or Jason running after her. If they are smart they will finally pivot this into Jason working for the WSB, that’s a much better use of him than being Sonny’s lackey again at his big age. Drew pissed me off trying to have Danny arrested and then banning Scout from the rest of her family. I still hate that Sam is dead and not raising the children she wanted so badly to have so it adds to my emotional investment in wanting Scout to be with her siblings. They have really struck gold with Cameron Mathison as the Quartermaine heel. I hate his ass but I hope this doesn’t all end in murder. Tracy and Michael going after him for messing with Wiley was great (I really hope they change that boys name to William or whatever his middle name is before its too late because wtf) Willow vs Lucas had me💀 he is a messy ass dude for going off and being all in the middle of her and Drew’s business and he deserved the slap IMO..unfortunately for Willow they really were at work arguing like that 😂 Elizabeth telling her to leave was also funny. I look forward to Willow sinking her hooks into Chase. I just love Alexa Havins as Lulu 🖤 I wish she could have slapped Obrecht at Laura’s office. They should keep temp Maxie while KS gets settled with her relocation, she did good work in the scene with Brook Lynn where Maxie worries about not reporting the book cooking done with Sonny’s investment and how losing Deception could wreck her finances and kids futures. I’m not a Curtis fan so this stuff with Portia and Jordan loses a lot of investment for me with him at the center. I enjoy Brooke Kerr though and I think Jordan liking the money she makes working for Sidwell could be an interesting shift for her to be more shady

I’m gonna preface my post by saying that I actually am enjoying the Wadey era for the most part so far. I like Kat and the Slaters running The Vic, Lauren as kind of the head Branning, Suki being played as the villain she is, everything with Avani, and while I hate the husband and step son I really enjoy Vicki too (I miss Sharon tho is Tish Dean okay???) Its very noticeable to me though how the minorities minus maybe the Panesars (and even they have been rendered broke) went back to servicing the white characters stories as soon as Clenshaw left the building. Feels like a lot of their airtime is less about them and more about how they impact and move story for the white characters and that annoys me a lot as somebody who loved the Clenshaw era because of how the black characters specifically were treated with importance and nuance that you just don’t typically see on soaps and tv period. The current stuff with Patrick, Yolande, Howie, Kojo, Gina, George etc feels more like fodder to give Max’s son/Lauren and Harry etc storylines as opposed to giving equal meaningful focus.

Glad they have more square footage. I’ve been rewatching mid 00s era on YouTube and its made me miss how spacious the sets used to be so hopefully that gets restored or we at least get more in use.

I owe Rory Gibson an apology, I wasn’t familiar with his game. It’s amazing how he’s been able to instantly transform Michael into a viable legacy leading male character instead of the wimpy joke Chad Duell spent way too long playing. Rory’s got a strong screen presence even in scenes with Maurice, Laura and Steve. He holds his own and doesn’t shrink like a little boy like CD often would. The scenes with Jane Elliott/Tracy this past week were fantastic as well, he really locks in to the emotions of scenes which makes Michael more rootable. Another 10 out of 10 recast from Frank and Mark Teschner. Everything with this Michael versus Willow custody battle has been fantastic. Definitely the best storyline on the show at the moment. I love that Willow got Sasha the heck out of town. 😂 She’s finally acting like the character. I’ve always thought the actress should be playing. Katelyn MacMullen did great work during the verdict announcement and has been killing it ever since with the unhinged glint she plays in every scene since, that smile when Nina told her Sasha was leaving was priceless 😂 I surprisingly enjoyed Liesel’s presence there too, Nina and Willow’s side of the canvas was missing an elder family member. I no longer find the Cameron Mathison slander to be valid anymore. I love Drew as the mustache twirling villain and the way CM plays it all is hilarious. I still see people saying they want Drew killed off and I completely disagree keep him like he is now trolling the hell out of everybody in town and manipulating Willow. Its sleazy goodness. I’m crying that the second they finally figure out a way to anchor Sasha to the show they end up writting her off a few months later. 😂 I liked her more than Cody, but the character still felt very force-fed to me. I’m glad the attempt to pair her with Jason flopped even if I have to suffer through the return of one of Frank’s pets because of it. 🤢 There was real potential between Michael and Sasha with Rory in the role so its unfortunate we won’t be able to see any of that. Because of the legacy baby they forced on us I wouldn’t mind a recast with Victoria Konefal, Marci Miller, or Allison Lanier down the line. I love the Lulu vs Brook Lynn feud. Lulu handled Gio’s paternity reveal all wrong but Brook Lynn digging up info on Rocco’s birth origin and leaving it around the Q mansion was irresponsible. I see both sides of their beef but I lean more towards loving Lulu. Amanda Setton’s clothes also don’t bother me so long as they keep her out of awkward bedroom scenes, I think she makes a decent leading actress and her and Chase have grown on me with how much he stands ten toes down for her. I want to salute Brook Kerr. I think she’s been doing fantastic work with this Drew blackmail storyline, and her and Curtis’s marriage on the ropes. Portia is another character that gets a lot of visceral hate online, but I actually really enjoy watching her. Trina and Kai do nothing for me at this point but did like him betraying her and her family by telling Drew what Curtis was plotting. If they are serious about making Kai work as a character a recast is necessary IMO, that actor is dull as dish water and their isn’t any strong chemistry between he and Tabyana Ali to make me truly care. Is it bad I kind of enjoy the Josslyn WSB storyline? it’s very stupid and very Alias but I dig it lol. I like how so many characters on the canvas are involved now as well. This week alone we got Emma, Gio, Rocco, Danny, Dante, Anna, and Carly sticking their heads in (those Carly and Anna scenes were great BTW). I love the Joss and Emma dynamic as well, what they’ve done with Emma’s character is great imo and having Carly and Robin’s daughters having a similarly contentious relationship just feels right I’m team Sidwell, Tracy, Drew and Daniel Cosgrove’s sleazy character when it comes to getting rid of Sonny. I wish I believed the show would actually go there but we all know Sonny will get the upper hand in the end but I like seeing him and Laura called out. I’m disappointed with how Jonathan Jackson/Lucky left the show, I almost wish they had recast Lucky with Jacob Young or Greg Vaughan again instead of having him run out on Liz and his family again. LnL2 fans got screwed but at least those Liason stans aren’t getting their ship either with Frank’s pet successfully begging for her job back 😂 I have never found the Britt character at all interesting and hate all the talk of her and this potential doppelgänger plot already has a flop stench to it. Ava and Ric blackmailing Alexis has been especially pleasing for me, I really enjoyed those scenes from a few weeks back where Laura was already detecting that something in the buttermilk wasn’t clean and Kristina paying Cody to break Ric and Ava up has been a nice lil twist as well and a better usage of Josh Kelly imo. If his exit is imminent as well I wouldn’t be sad tho. The show overall is in a much better spot creatively than it was last year. Certain stories are better than others but I don’t find myself completely annoyed by anything atm, I’m consistently entertained when tuning in. They stuck to their guns with certain stories and pairings (Gio, Drew and Willow, etc) and its paying off now.

Yes, and none of the black lead spinoffs that were in development got picked up either. Reminds me of how The CW eventually purged all of their black shows in the 00s/10s

It’s very concerning to me that this was a last-minute decision and not something that was planned out or even discussed with the cast or crew beforehand. I don’t know… after the settlement with Trump and the fact that CBS basically wiped most of their African-American lead shows from their primetime lineup and BTG only got a one season renewal I’m starting to get a little worried, not going to lie. Hopefully the outrage from this break is enough to boost the audience support and increase the numbers overall in a way that is satisfactory for CBS.

I went back and watched her return episode, her walk in intro shot was gorgeous and the kind of highlight MM deserves on this show, salute to Ed Scott and production.

Loved Nicole and Dani finally having real conflict over Dani’s situationship with Andre. I think Nicole is valid for feeling betrayed and concerned, here’s yet another person lying to her over what will likely be a disastrous coupling. DD and KM did great in those scenes and I love that Dani refused to tell Vernon anything. I want to like Chelsea and Madison, beautiful actresses with decent enough chemistry but this has been so oddly written so far. One episode they meet, the next Madison acts weird as if she’s not interested, the next we get the doctor reveal and Madison starts fan girling on Chelsea like a stan, then they’re all over each other as if they’ve been dating for weeks, then they sleep together and now she’s introducing her to the family??? I’m glad Vernon pointed out the red flags but I wish the show had played more longing between these two and really made us feel invested in seeing them get together. Ted going from being so lovey dovey with Nicole to barely fighting for her after the Leslie and Eva reveal is so odd and doesn’t track with me. New actor, new interpretation I guess but I need his reasons for being so distant better explained. The recast really did take the sail out of that story and couple for me, which sucks because I been a fan of KR since Power Rangers. I’m continuously baffled by the amount of air time given to Ashley and Derek. You can tell with Ashley specifically that someone upstairs is very impressed by this actress and character but 4 months in and I still have absolutely no idea why 🤦🏾‍♂️ this break up drama has only highlighted how unlikable everything about her is and also how lacking in charisma the actress is, she’s been given some decent enough scenes to showcase her value and I’m not seeing it at all. I actually see it more for Derek than her at this point but man I need them both gone ASAP. Andre and Ashley don’t work either and that little dream sequence just reinforced I have no interest in seeing them get together. I did love the scenes at Bill and Hayley’s house with Shanice and Naomi. I like seeing Shanice interact with more of the canvas and Bill’s eyerolling and frustration dealing with her was hilarious. I hope the show plays more of Hayley and Naomi too, I still feel like we barely know anything of their prior dynamic as friends. Hayley is played like such an airhead its hard to see why Naomi would be so close to her but the actresses have interesting chemistry, I want to see more.

Hopefully they can expand some of the sets again. I watched some 04/05 episodes and forgot how much more grand the production used to feel. I wonder if YR will be staying put or going there or somewhere else as well.

I could not stand her on the show and not in a love to hate way, blech. I do hope this means the Liason stans who attacked JJ at every stop to get him off the show don’t get their big wish.

I have to be honest I’m really struggling with this show. I love everything with Eva/Leslie/Ted/Nicole/Kat and enjoy Dani and Bill’s shenanigans (I’m on the Hayley needs to be recast train now tho), Chelsea is second to Kat as my favorite Dupree grandkid and I loved her coming out to her mom. The show was on a truly great run with the big Leslie and Eva reveal at Nicole and Ted’s anniversary party and the fall out has still been good even with the unnecessary Ted recast and them making Leslie kind of dumb by exposing herself too much unnecessarily. The real problem for me started when they rotated back to way too damn much screen time for Derek/Ashley/Andre (if anyone should have been up first for a recast it was these three IMO). They tried way too hard to drum up drama between Ashley and Derek and the actors were clearly fighting for their mediocre charisma less acting lives to make it work but none of it landed, just horrible. Naomi and Jacob and this weird homeless woman story are also BORING. I can see where its potentially going but IDGAF at all, my only hope for them is that they’re building a triangle with Naomi/Jacob/Kat because Jacob and Kat have stronger chemistry together than their current love interests (Eva is the only one who can make the awful Tomas work). Martin, his secret and still cringe worthy acting got kind of interesting with Bill dropping hints to Smitty but they completely lost me with that lil fakeout scene at the country club. The lame “teenagers” (air quotes because Samantha is no Bianca Lawson and never beating the black Andrea Zuckerman allegations) can get off my screen as well. Joey creeping on Vanessa is grossing me out at this point, I actually quite like Vanessa and Doug now but Joey falls totally flat as a villain and someone we’re supposed to buy Vanessa being enamored with. I’m glad they’ve finally set up something interesting for Vernon and Anita to do with this girl band reunion instead of Anita wringing her hands and telling us she feels darkness coming and Vernon giving a civil rights speech every episode but yeah… People who’ve posted with me for other shows know I’m not one for fast forwarding or hate watching either, if I find a majority of a show is not working I usually just quit but because of what this show represents for me as a Black male soap fan I really want to stick it out. Its just become a challenge lately. I saw Guza has left the building and I REALLY hope we hear about some more BTS changes. The additions of Tracy Thompson and Jamie Giddens don’t exactly inspire a lot of confidence from me tho. Honestly praying hard for a new EP to replace JHC, a lot of the stuff that annoyed about her PC and AMC runs has started to match up here. I’m giving the show through the Summer to rectify some things but IDK how long I can hold on tbh. Its been a struggle to even finish some of these episodes lately.

Glad they didn’t wait on Chad either GH is leaps and bounds better than YR to me (tho I guess as an actor its the less strenuous gig). I’m sure this Michael return will be more meaty than whatever bs JG scribbled on his writers board at the last minute for BF to play

Lol at the Robert Adamson praise in here, I’m glad he wasn’t even considered and ran his mouth off to put a final nail in his GH coffin. I’m not impressed with this choice either (Billy Flynn would have been perfect) but I’m gonna give him a shot.

I hated Mick, his mama and their whole raggedy ass family so I’m glad Dyer keeps yapping, hopefully the character remains gone. I never commented on Sonia and Bianca’s exit but I thought it was well done, never been a Sonia fan but it was touching seeing her Bianca ride off with Bex and the new baby. The episodes with Martin’s funeral and Sonia comforting Stacey then Stacey and Ruby finally coming to an understanding were great as well. Nicola held it down for a few weeks with this killed Harry’s girlfriend story and the actor playing Harry has improved quite a bit, I like him and Gina together and his friendship with Kojo. I was hoping for a bigger renovation for The Vic but I do like the refurbished look. The episode where they first opened back up was really good too, great use of Nigel, Billy and the history of East London I really love the stuff they’ve done with Avani and the actress has realy shined but I hate nuVicki’s perv step son and weirdo husband. I really wanted Ravi to whoop both their asses. I’m so happy Cindy is back, I thought she’d be gone longer. Loved her helping Lauren give birth, I felt bad they still kicked her out at the end. Her blackmailing Kathy and Ian was well deserved and I like that she snagged The Albert and still exposed Kathy’s affair with Harvey. Not a fan at all of Harvey and Jean but I did enjoy all the fallout, especially Kat dragging Harvey, Freddie hugging Jean and making her cry. Ive really enjoyed the Clenshaw era so I’m sad to see him go but I’m willing to give the new show-runner a chance. I wonder how many more exits and new additions we’ll see.

I haven’t watched since Daisy’s last episode. Part of me feels like its a good place to end it because outside of The Platt’s, Tracy, Todd, and Carla and Swain I haven’t really enjoyed the show. Too many depressing stories and irksome characters, I especially hate what they’re doing to Debbie. I do think its funny they spent all this time investing into that awful new family and apparently they’ve already been canned, feedback must have been horrid.

I completely disagree. I thought she had a lot of strong acting performances in her run and enjoyed her in the role.

She was an okay placeholder recast IMO but I wouldn’t mind seeing Hunter King return. I feel the same way about Annika Noelle and Kim Matula for Bold

I couldn’t stand any version of Fake Coward/CONnie however Megan Ward >>> bug eyed Kelly Sullivan. I always forget to give KSu credit for driving me away from the show alongside the OLTL 3, Emme Rylan and Ugly Betty and Dr Bitch. She’s a scenery chewer and the type of odd actress JFP loves trying to make happen as a lead. I’m still mad at JFP for hiring her again at YR and letting her eat up airtime there too Megan Ward’s days were numbered the moment Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo was headed back, and she was already getting put to pasture by SJB and Lisa Lo before that. She was okay as an actress, had decent chemistry with her scene partners and a very distinct character but lacked a certain star quality, sex appeal and likability to maintain a leading lady spot long term on this show. Speaking of actresses fighting for a spot, they gave Natalia a son and ex husband on canvas just to eliminate all of her (weak) ties and placements on canvas? I’m surprised she ratted Sonny’s health issues out to Sidwell and that Sonny and the Deception crew fired her so easily. Poor Eva La Rue, this character was set up for failure from the jump and should have left with her daughter.

Interesting timing lol, I wonder if he may have tested for the recasting? I preferred Drew’s angry teen Michael so I’d be open to giving him a shot in the role but I could also envision a David Tom returning to Y&R in the 2010’s esque mishap. Rory Gibson never left much of an impression as Noah I hope he’s not final casting.
