Storylines and periods in a show that made you STOP watching
YR - Fetus in the fireplace with Ashley and Adam drove me away for a while, didn’t come back until JFP became EP. Didn’t miss an episode again until Mishael Morgan was killed off as Hilary and have only sparingly tuned back in since. GH - I never missed an episode until shortly after Garrin Wolf took over. When Frank and Ron joined I stopped watching full episodes for a few years its only been recently that I’ve kind of gotten back into it. Days - When EJ raped Sami I took my first break. Now I’ll randomly watch for a few months when characters I like pop in for visits. AMC - Was never the same when production moved to LA. When it got cancelled I felt guilty for abandoning the show Passions - When they made Whitney and Chad brother and sister it was just too much lol, couldn’t do it. Guiding Light - Somewhere around Peapack I just had to give it up

DAYS: Actress OUT?
She actually reminded me of the original Chanel actress. Very boring character but that current 20 something set all are.

Hayley Erin to YR
Melissa Ordway is so dry as Abby I would have taken her back as a recast tbh

Days actress out!!
She was too old for the role in the first place. I’ll never forget one day Charity Rahmer was walking around in a bad wig and the next here was Grandma Belle looking older than Sami. It was sad to see a legacy character dismantled by poor casting decisions.

Days actress out!!
I agree with her that Belle should be a more important role on canvas but a big reason for why she isn’t has been the fact MM has never been a good candidate as a leading actress. They tried for years to make her work and it never really clicked until the Chloe/Phillip/Belle/Shawn quad back in 08 before they let her go the first time. Corday should have dumped her and let Kristen Storms come back when she asked right before she went to GH. I hope they recast with a more interesting actress.

Dallas Discussion Thread
Watching season 7, the storylines are pretty decent and stronger than the previous season but I think the casting for Katherine Wentworth was a complete miss and hinders so much of the potential. She’s not mysterious subtle or intriguing, she’s just blah! I have a hard time buying Bobbie and Pam wouldn’t have seen right thru her already and it makes the relationship angst less believable even with Mark and Jenna as interlopers. Sue Ellen and the pool boy was also pretty gross but I think that story has wrapped where I’m at.

DEADLINE: Days of our Lives Misconduct Investigation Against Co-EP Albert Alarr
I’m glad Alarr’s been fired but him getting away with this behavior for damn near 20 years and being allowed to take over the entire production indicates a need for bigger changes. He can’t be the only one exhibiting that kind of behavior BTS. More heads need to roll and a deeper look at how the cast and crew are treated and (over) worked. If the show was ever do for one of Ken’s “Plans to save DAYS” this is the time.

DEADLINE: Days of our Lives Misconduct Investigation Against Co-EP Albert Alarr
The general shoulder shrugging this story has gotten from Corday, SAG/AFTRA and the industry as a whole is really disgusting. I figured with this production model the show had to be pretty nasty BTS but this is insane. The fact Alarr has been able to get away with this crap for years even post Me Too era is ridiculous. Ken, Sony and NBC Universal should be ashamed of themselves, SOD as well for their lack of coverage. Very proud of Ari Zurker and the entire cast and crew that have spoken out and hope they not only fire him but reroute the hr, pr and production issues.

General Hospital: June 2023 Discussion Thread
The biggest tragedy of losing Guza was the dismantling of that writers room and their consistency when it came to character voices and dynamics. Whenever I tune back in now the way Carly interacts with and is pleasantly received by so many characters is so jarring for me. I do wonder how Laura Wright feels about it because she used to relish in playing Carly’s unreserved vitriol.

Y&R June 2023 Discussion Thread
Lanier is fine but I miss Hunter King as well. A lot of the material AL is struggling with currently HK would’ve had an easier time playing, she could knock out those bratty whiny freakout moments with little effort. AL’s Summer should be written as icier and more indignant.

Y&R May 2023 Discussion Thread
Noah and Kyle should be carrying on the Newman vs Abbot legacy, ridiculous he isn’t on canvas and that we wasted so many years with RA in the role. Allie should have came on looking for vengeance and stirring the pot, they killed Keemo for no damn reason. I didn’t like the original Cameron story when it aired and this one seems like its going to be an uneventful speed rush.

Y&R May 2023 Discussion Thread
I gotta say I really dig Tucker and Ashley together. The show is merely background noise until I see them on, ED and TSJ are very fun cause they’re playing with their chemistry instead of doing the run of the meal standard speed thru soap acting.

DAYS Fave Joins GH Cast in Recast Role!
So she’s just gonna be Molly’s surrogate, boring

DAYS Fave Joins GH Cast in Recast Role!
She would’ve been a better Lulu recast. I’ve always liked LA but its clear they were never going to invest in her and the first born daughter of Sonny and Alexis should be a series lead.

YR new intro!
I despise the color scheme (the white red and gold used for the new mid show bumpers is much better) and the font choice for the actor names is horrible but I love everything else about it. I noticed as they’ve been modifying it daily the shot choices for the actors have gotten more dramatic and sleek which is good. I also like how they fade the actors in and out instead of just throwing a bunch of random shots at the screen like the last opening. Makes me miss editing

Y&R: Tony Morina accused of sexual harassment. Sony being sued.
What a creep, hopefully we get a good replacement cause the show stinks
-
Nicolas Alexander Chavez Joins GH!
Where is Emma? Carly and Robin's daughters on canvas together practically writes itself

Y&R Actors Out?
I like them but they've failed at positioning these two as the young leads due to clunky boring writing. The Lola triangle was a fail and so is this Tara Ashland nonsense.

Maybe she'll poach JG's spot

Sasha Calle Cast as New Supergirl
They have wasted her in such a boring role, happy she got a big gig

Melrose Place
Yeah I associate Peter with the downfall of the show. A completely unlikable scoundrel and he and Frank South's rise BTS is when the show becomes less grounded and more like one long Skinemax series minus the nudity where nothing meaningful happens outside of the characters being trainwrecks and screwing each other literally and figuratively. There is no heart outside of what the cast brought and once the OGs started leaving that was lost completely.

ABC: ‘All My Children’: Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos Developing Primetime Version
If Santos vs Kane is the starting premise they need Wildwind estate to be prominent and to tap into that mid 90s Era history. They definitely can use SMG as a selling point so I hope she ends up involved and playing Kendall, sorry Minshew fans What I don't want to see is unnecessary character assasination and death. The Melrose Place and 90210 CW reboots are prime examples of how killing off the vets or having them act ridiculously out of character regardless of time gone by turns off the viewers and wrecks the show. Don't do dirty by Erica Kane by having her wrecklessly killing people or playing second fiddle to whoever gets the reporter role.

ABC: ‘All My Children’: Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos Developing Primetime Version
I almost cried man, you all know AMC is where my heart lives and I was hoping so badly for a reboot. Shout out to Mark, Kelly and of coursebLa Lucci for continuously pushing for this. I hope they do it in New York

Melrose Place
Season six is currently airing on Pluto TV's 90210 channel. I completely dropped the show when it originally aired but its much easier to digest as background noise Kyle and Peter are the WORST They ruined Amanda chaining her to these low lifes. Jake could be an abusive ass but he benefited from a nicely detailed backstory and Grant Show always had charm and good chemistry with his leading ladies so you could buy them putting up with his crap. Kyle and Peter are just gross overbearing manipulative assholes. I don't care about Kyle being a vet, he's a perpetual loser and hot head for no real reason. Peter is just a complete sleaze and gross enabler. HATE them both I'll post more thoughts later when the season finishes
