I thought the scenes at the diner were interesting but agree that NLG and Lane Davies don’t really spark here. NLG said they stopped her and Lane from sparring during the court scenes as well and that was such a mistake IMO. Carly and Brennan have nice chemistry. More of these two and less of her and John please I hate that they stalled so long in getting Sam, Spinelli and Maxie back involved in Jason’s return but I’m loving these scenes. Jane Elliot made Chase’s actor finally put in some work. I thought the ending with Alexis finding out Greggory died over the phone was good.

I hope they can get the revival sold before whoever ends up buying Paramount can put the kibosh on it.

I watched on Hulu due to weather preemption and they had scenes where Sonny recounted the Dex incident and Kristina’s reaction to Ava, did that not air on broadcast?

Chase’s actor is giving the most “go girl give us nothing” performance I’ve seen in ages, oof. Rebecca Herbst on the other hand came in and completely elevated those scenes with Michael Easton/Finn. The immediate realization he had been drinking was good work and his anger when she tried to take his little brat pulled me in. The Dante and Sonny/Sonny and Ava scenes were pretty good as well. Everything else 😴

The cheating reveal at the wedding was so chaotic in the best soapy way and the fall out has been even better. The Lauren and Whitney confrontation at The Vic was even more intense than the beatdown Whitney gave her at the wedding. They both got some great verbal slappings in and I cheered when Whit refused to throw the glass of water on Lauren but Bianca turned around and did it for her. 😂 I wanted Zack and Whit to move on from this but I appreciate that the show is having her self reflect and break her toxic patterns when it comes to men as a way to exit the character from the canvas, her scenes with Callum, Britney and Bianca were great. I’m gonna be so sad watching her last episode man, Shona M has been carrying the show masterfully. Freddie was sorely missing from the young set and the Slaters and I’m glad to have Mo back as well. I hope Freddie steals Anna from Bobbie she deserves better than that sister killer I really like Monique so far and can’t wait to see her and George Junior get more in the mix. Loved the Cindy and Elaine confrontation as well. Ian is such a loser lol its funny how everybody knows he’s a mug and Cindy doesn’t even hide the fact she’s with him because it is what it is at this point.

I thought all the new pages would be episode discussion but its just a bunch of talk about actors refusing sex scenes 😂 speaks to how interesting the show is Yup. I feel bad for Easton because he seemed to be doing decent work but the directing and editing choices stifled his performance impact. The set up kind of reminded me a lot of “The Body” from Buffy but a very paint by numbers version that lacked the real devastation and heartache. Man where is JFP when you need her???

Today’s episode fell very flat for me which is insane because on paper this material should be riveting. An alcoholic finding his father dead in bed then breaking his sobriety before calling the ambulance and later having to tell his brother who’s on the way to his honeymoon. All of this should’ve been heartbreaking but…stilted direction and mediocre acting (Chase’s reaction to the death news looked more suited to being told their flight had been canceled) just didn’t land the punch for me. Don’t care about Alexis and Diane, Joss and Dex are a snooze fest and this Kristina stuff isn’t working either because her naivety just isn’t believable. Dante telling Sonny he can’t carry water for him anymore was the only highlight. Dominic Z does solid work and MB played Sonny’s desperation well there.

Carly and Sonny were the highlight of the episode for me. LW and MB’s best chemistry is when they are talking each other off the brink or tearing each others heads off Kristina is just too damn grown and too experienced in the toxicity of Sonny for this reaction to ring true for me. I wish they linked it to her abuse trauma from Kiefer instead of making her look like so clueless and naive. Good performance from Mansi though. I think Michael Easton did some good acting as well in those Finn and Gregory scenes. The montage caught me off guard, is Greg dead? i certainly hope he is. This wedding was a total snoozefest BTW, woof. Changes are necessary.

Really loved last Thursday’s episode with the stag party and Whitney giving birth. Great communal fun that soaps do best. Everyone helping Zack start his car gave me warm fuzzies and just when I was wondering where the hell Sharon went she pops back up with the most hilarious line delivery of the season “Get your knickers on your having a baby” 😂 Whitney’s nurse being the same one who delivered Peach was a touching call back, and Bianca being a goof but locking in when it really mattered was just beautiful to see. Britney is also a character I’ve grown to care about in a short time, her hearing Zack and Lauren talk about their cheating was good soap and ironic considering her diagnosis lol One thing I really appreciate about the show currently is how they give the black characters legitimate equal focus to their white counterparts. Denzel has kind of turned into the main face of the teen set with this steroids storyline and the US soaps would never let that happen. Nugget is a loser and I feel bad for poor Amy but loved how Penny supported her. I was glad to see Elaine finally put herself first cause George has been wylin for a minute sneaking around with Cindy and the fight club. Part of me has wanted her to die so George could get The Vic to himself but she’s really grown on me. George Junior has been an interesting addition. Bit of a scoundrel hiding his wife and kid and boinking Bianca, i’m curious where else they go with him. I really hope Alfie and Kat get back together soon always one of my favorite pairings I really really enjoy this show man. Just consistently solid soap.

How long before we see “GH: Chuck Pratt IN as headwriter” Errol??? 😂 Its literally the same exact people who were complaining by episode 2 and saying they’d rather have Chris and Dan back now suddenly calling Patrick a hero who didn’t get a chance. Pure comedy that they end up with Korte running things solo for the time being. Of all the soaps GH has the worst fan base by far. They bitch 24/7 without even watching the actual show, just regurgitating biased takes and criticizing out of context clips and scene descriptions. The rage I saw all because characters expressed unique perspectives and personal bias was so ridiculous, how is a show supposed to write any real conflict if the audience complains because character A doesn’t think the same way as character B? Guza was correct to just write whatever the heck he wanted because this audience wants to watch Halmark movies 5 days a week but then complain about being bored, it makes no sense and you can’t win. Yeah I do not care for the way he’s been diminished as a writer, very unfair.

Not surprising but I wish he had been given more time. I’ll probably tap out on the show.

It does feel very deliberate in a petty distasteful way. It was so odd to me when Jason had his court bail hearing and they didn’t even have him share a glance with Elizabeth even though she was right behind him. Those fanbases are still so actively nutso (buying trucks, trend wars, pitting son against son) it just seems like bad business not to write material to keep them engaged. I also don’t understand why Jason and Spinelli haven’t had any scenes either when he was so involved those initial weeks.

The show still feels like they’re in a building phase but is definitely missing some soapy ummph to keep me invested. I’ve been watching live the last few weeks but its mostly become background noise for me. Where are the real stakes? The most Pikeman has done is flop kill attempts and lowering Sonny’s med dosage. Ava’s set up to be the big pot stirrer and the only thing she’s really done is withhold information and lurk convos. Natalia’s supposed to be this nasty overbearing mother and the only thing she’s done is act afraid to say the word lesbian and ask valid managerial questions. Jason came back and all he does now is walk around bags of coffee beans with a clipboard. Don’t get me started on the Deception nonsense. I think the dialogue is strong and we get interesting character interactions but you need more than that to make a good show. Highlights for the week to me were: The Jason and Sam scenes at the warehouse. I don’t understand at all why the show hasn’t played with the JaSam and Liason fanbases more. That is where the meat and potatoes in this SB return are not Jarly (and ogs here know I’m a Jarly friendship stan) I also think Ava/Sonny/Natalia has been fun and Eva La Rue and MB are building nice chemistry after being pretty dry at first. Finn and Alexis have nice chemistry and I think Easton is playing his alcohol struggles due to his fathers illness really well Also enjoyed Jordan dragging Laura for her Heather worship I like Carly and Jack’s interaction as well, Charles Measure should have been a Jax recast. I’m giving the show til July to really standout otherwise I’m tapping out.

Aw man this Yolande and Patrick two hander was great. Powerful acting and beautiful chemistry.

I can wait to see the character career set up. Black folks living behind the gates nowadays could get you a doctor, a preacher, musician, a social media influencer, a straight up scammer etc. They definitely should have a family who live right outside of the gates too trying to infiltrate.

Loved the Carly vs Ava/Sonny scenes Friday and how they started with a classic set up of Carly barging in like she owns the place. LW and MB’s best chemistry is when they’re divorced and at each others necks. The Dante and Sonny/Dante & Sam scenes were great too Nina and Drew schmozing up to the politician was interesting as well. They’re setting Drew up to be a legit power player on canvas and I like how he needs Nina’s connections to get where he wants. They’re the most interesting chaotic pairing on the show currently. All of this Dex joining the police focus better be leading to a nasty death…and I really despise Joss no longer studying medicine. Between Trina living aimlessly, Willow quitting nursing, Sasha working in the Q kitchen…not a good look. Speaking of, I’m sure the house cook and the stable boy sounds like a hot pairing for a 1996 romance novel with Fabio on the cover but there is nothing interesting about Sasha and Cody. This show needs a cast purge badly and they need to be the first two out the door

Kirsten Storm did an interview with SB and BA and talked about her past weight/wardrobe issues and feeling more confident at the 31 min mark. I’m glad working with Bradford again and the stronger writing has gotten her out of the funk. She’s one of the main people blossoming under this new writing team

I had no idea who the hell Georgie was til they said her name lol This Aidan looks more like Rebecca Herbst. I think people were too harsh on the last kid but I’m not sad to see him gone So many characters in these Deception scenes in the middle of the Q living room Sasha is just a weird character, I wish they’d write her off

The Nina/Drew/Willow affair agenda is prospering well today 😂 I really despise the color grading in this show, the park scene yesterday was especially bad

I’m so happy they brought Bianca back to the Square 🥰 loved seeing her immediately get back in the mix with Sonia, Whit, Bernie, Linda, Priya, Kat, and snag a job back at the cafe. I can’t wait for her and Cindy to reunite That said this Whitney stealing blind and deaf bound Britney and ignoring Zack and her pregnancy has been so grating. Can not stand sanctimonious Lauren (or Penny) either. I wish Whit was getting a happier farewell than what we’ve gotten so far because I feel like her baby might be a goner and she’s definitely not leaving with Zack The Yolande and Priest has been really well done but man I wish we could go a minute without a sexual assault storyline I loved every minute of Dean taking the fall for Keanu, it is absolutely what he deserves and the episodes were done in a very cinematic and satisfying way. I couldn’t believe it when they had him skimping Jade’s pills and stealing charity money lol, he deserves to be framed

I always wanted her to return to the GH or YR writing rooms 😢 RIP and condolences to her fam

He’s like an old boxer who can’t quite land the punch anymore. I think he’s trying to showcase Sonny in a manic state but the performances aren’t as solid as they should be. He was better with LW today than he was during the big Sonny and Jason confrontation a couple weeks back where SB kind of put him to shame. Yall are too hard on that kid lol I think he’s alright from the little he’s been given. I’m too invested in Danny and Jake being AJ and Jason 2.0 Willow’s actress has a manipulative twinkle in her eye that the show has not really taken advantage of and CM works best as a horny sanctimonious scoundrel so I hope they really go for it. CD remains an unremarkable actor but I want Michael to do a full heel turn and his wife cheating with his Uncle is the perfect way to do it.

Good show today Nina vs Ava was fantastic. CW did a great job playing Nina realizing just how badly Ava’s been playing her then Maura West with the heel turn midway basically gloating, delightful to watch. Nina finally got to be played sympathetically as well with that last montage If you had told me in 2005 Sam would be trying to keep Jason away from their kid I wouldn’t believe it but thats the kind of perspective shift I love that only soaps can do. Their scenes with Danny and Kristina were great I’ve always felt LW and MB’s best chemistry is when Sonny and Carly are fighting. Sonny’s feelings of betrayal are 100% valid More Willow and Drew chem testing hmmm….I liked him bringing up Nina in a not so negative way. I really want a nasty love quad with Nina/Drew/Michael/Nina that ends with Michael becoming a sloppy drunk like his daddy and Drew causing havoc like a real Quartermaine. I actually love that the cast is large, I just think half of the canvas is uninteresting and should be replaced with more dynamic characters. Cody, Sasha, Finn and his entire family should be the first to go. Bring in some young hospital interns, some teen girls for Jake and Danny to fight over, new guys for Trina and Josslyn, etc

I’ve been really enjoying the show the last few weeks. Of all of the soaps I think Corrie utilizes modern tech/social media the best, this Leeanne cult story and Lauren disappearance/Roy witch hunt being great examples of how to modernize old school storyline setups.
