Y&R: Old Articles
Also, Rick was the name of Humphrey Bogart's character in Casablanca and Lacey had played Bogart before. The Jonas character had elements of Bogie in that movie so I think Jerry Lacey was trying to move away from the whole Bogart thing. That storyline also brought in the character of Gloria (Lindsay Bloom) and another character played I think by Billy Barty (Max?). To my knowledge this was the first time a little person was cast on a soap, preceding Brett Collins as Mr Big on ATWT.

Y&R: Old Articles
Leslie did get that story where she developed amnesia and hooked up with Jonas (Jerry Lacey). But I don't think it really took off and once Jonas and Leslie returned to Genoa City, the whole thing fizzled. Leslie (and Victoria) just wasn't strong enough to sustain interest out of Lorie/Lance /Lucas.

Judy was on the show I think in a summer teen storyline in the mid 60's? played by Sybil Collier. Any more details would be appreciated. .It must have been a pretty minor storyline as it never is mentioned in summaries. I recall that Judy was British. This was at a time that all things Brit were considered cool.

Y&R: Old Articles
Do we know about Y&R's current taping schedule? Are they shooting multiple episodes or different parts to allow the show to go dark for periods of time and save money? Whatever the case I'm sure there is way less time for rehearsals, retaping and notes from the director. Thus the lackluster performances we often see.

The Doctors Discussion Thread
Kathy Glass was already on The Doctors when Doris Quinlan arrived. Earlier she was granted a release from her Return to Peyton Place role. What were the circumstances of her leaving One Life to Live? It seems her 3 year contract was up,but did she leave or was she fired? Carla Dragoni had been playing MJ and she was replaced by Kathy Glass. Did they lure her away from ABC or did she become available after her departure from OLTL?

Unfortunately, neither actress playing Sandy made much of an impression and there weren't any strong stories for her.Maybe because they didnt 'play much into her history,Sandy didn't have a lot of impact. Had they used Tommy to intro her (i think John Lupton was still active at this point) maybe that would have helped.Sandy's past was a blank slate so maybe something could have been used there.

Leah played Christy Bingham, who was involved in a teen storyline with Gina Gaspero,Ray's sister. I recall she was the 'wild' teen involving innocent Gina in premarital sex and drug taking.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
On the one hand I can understand GR's frustration at some of the writing, but if he was continually complaining then maybe he shouldn't have signed on. If this was his modus operandi, would he be the same in any acting role, be it theater, primetime or movies? If so I don't think he would last long anywhere. Ultimately, an actor is played to deliver the lines. If GR was so concerned, maybe he should have been a writer instead and then have to deal with actors challenging his work.

Falcon Crest
I think FC's biggest rated episode was Lana Turners's first appearance as Chase's mother,It hit #2. Yes, FC was a timeslot hit but it was a solid show in its own right, winning its timeslot for several seasons. Some of the competition over the years Strike Force The Quest Remington Steele Matt Houston For Love and Honor Miami Vice (first show to make a dint in FC's ratings) so much so that NBC moved it up an hour opposite Dallas Starman LA Law 20/20 Private Eye Nick Mancuso FBI In its final season the show was moved to Thursday @ 9 to play out the last few episodes against Cheers so it didn't finish out with any fanfare.
