At the NBC affiliate meetings in June 87,Brian Frons said they had signed Sally Sussman to develop a serial that could play as 30 mins or 1 hour and could be ready by end of 88 and that this should send a message to P&G that they need to invest and improve AW or it will go the way of SFT He stated that AW poor performance was bringing down Santa Barbara and the network had taken a hard look at AW and had refocused the story by getting back to basics and focusing on new talent. They planned to drastically improve the show or replace it with an NBC produced show.

According to a 1970 Daytime TV David O'Brien joined TD in December 67. It will be interesting to see who is in the cast when the rebroadcasts begin and what month of 67 the show stars at.

Judith Hoag now plays Connie Britton's sister on Nashville

Cindy Daly was Cathy Breton. Elizabeth Harrower introduced her as an orphaned student nurse who was being set up to be Alex and Marie's daughter. Then Nina Laemmle became headwriter and Cindy was dropped in favor of Jessica, who was setup as Alex and Marie's daughter.

CBS played a TV movie from 9-11 that displaced Simon& Simon and Knots that week. Upon further investigation, it appears Dynasty did air that week but didn't make the top 20. Dynasty had yet to break through in the ratings at that stage. Falcon Crest scored it's all time best rating week of Feb 21st 1982 when Lana Turner made her first guest appearance. Dallas 29.9/48 ranked #1 60 Minutes 27.7/44 #2 Falcon Crest 25.2/43 #3

Coincidental that Fern played a character with the surname Ewing!

Moving Flamingo Road to 9.00 Mondays would have put it up against MASH and ABC Movie, both top raters as well as displacing the NBC Monday movie which often scored big numbers. Flamingo was tried at 9.00 Tues for a few weeks and didn't do well.

A November 1981 syndicated soap opera column stated that John Burnett was the new headwriter with Millee Taggart and Courtney Simon as assistants.That never came to pass.I've never head of Burnett,. Does anyone know more?

Gerald Gordon became the third actor to play Mark Dante.The previous Mark, Michael Delano, was only on for 3 eps. Apparently, the Pollocks wanted Gordon for the role as they had written for him on The Doctors but he was playing hardball. When the show expanded to 45 mins they had to go ahead with the Mark character. When contract negotiations were settled Gordon stepped into the role.
