TGIF Memories
Urkel TGIF crossovers I would've loved a Family Matters/Perfect Strangers crossover with Urkel meeting Balki.

Ratings from the 80's
We'll get to see if Oprah affected the clearances of the low tier soaps. We know she was pretty much responsible for the end of daytime network game shows not named The Price is Right. On the syndicated talk show vein, Merv Griffin ended September 5, 1986 so Oprah's main competition initially was Phil Donahue, Sally Jessy Raphael, Gary Collins, then a year later Geraldo Rivera.

@JAS0N47 Thank you for the Days info. As the World Turns has tough competition from Days, All My Children, One Life to Live. Capitol is on the way out. Guiding Light is slipping.

June 20, 1986 Y&R Brad/Traci wedding. What was happening on Days to get to 3rd? Days hadn't been 3rd since Bo/Hope wedding I believe.

Game Shows
This week CBS started The Price is Right season 52 and Let's Make a Deal season 15. On June 12, 2023, Let's Make a Deal moved past the NBC 1966-1980 version of Hollywood Squares to become the fourth longest-running game show on US daytime network television. Let's Make a Deal will reach two other milestones during season 15: On March 29, 2024, Let's Make a Deal will move past the NBC 1975-1989 version of Wheel of Fortune to become the third longest-running game show on US daytime network television. On May 3, 2024, Let's Make a Deal will move past the NBC 1958-1973 version of Concentration to become the second longest-running game show on US daytime network television.

Moonlighting FINALLY Coming To Streaming on Hulu!
Also be on the lookout for cut syndication episodes vs. full original broadcast episodes. I think The Golden Girls DVDs had some cut syndication episodes and not full original broadcast episodes.

TGIF Memories
I created this thread so we could share memories of ABC's 1989-2000 TGIF Friday comedy block. These comedies were part of the TGIF line up Full House (1989-1991) Family Matters (1989-1997) Perfect Strangers (1989-1992) Just the Ten of Us (1989-1990) Going Places (1990-1991) Baby Talk (1991-1992) Dinosaurs (1991-1993) Step by Step (1991-1997) Billy (1992) Camp Wilder (1992-1993) Getting By (1993) Where I Live (1993) Home Free (1993) Boy Meets World (1993-2000) Hangin' with Mr. Cooper (1993-1997) Sister, Sister (1994-1995) On Our Own (1995) Muppets Tonight (1996) Aliens in the Family (1996) Sabrina the Teenage Witch (1996-2000) Clueless (1996-1997) You Wish (1997-1998) Teen Angel (1997-1998) Hiller and Diller (1998) Two of a Kind (1998-1999) Brother's Keeper (1998-1999) Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place (1999) The Hughley's (1999-2000) Odd Man Out (1999-2000) The TGIF comedy block was a 1990s staple and I'm sure the 1990s kids/teens here have good memories of some of these shows. I'll start with clips from a memorable episode that will be celebrating it's 30th anniversary on November 12.

At least it wasn't in cancel territory. The annual ratings drop each year from 1986-1992, but we'll get to see how much fluctuation is in the weekly ratings.

Billboard Charts
Drake got his 12th #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Among solo artists, he has moved past Whitney Houston and is now tied with Madonna. The next solo artists in line for him to tie with are Michael Jackson (13) and Rihanna (14). Among all artists, Drake is the 7th artist to reach 12 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100, joining The Beatles (20), Mariah Carey (19), Rihanna (14), Michael Jackson (13), The Supremes (12), Madonna (12).

Y&R #1 again! From recaps, the big story culminating was Shawn/Lauren in San Francisco. John/Jill divorce was around this time. I believe John already learned about Jill/Jack affair and Jill shooting is coming soon.

CBS Daytime
@Matt Powers My guess would be 1 hour Noon Local news, at least among the Central/Mountain/Pacific affiliates. Schedule would be 11 am Y&R, Noon Local news, 1 pm As the World Turns, 2 pm Guiding Light.

Ratings from the 80's
General Hospital and Y&R are clearly the top 2 in 1986. 3rd to 6th tier I think will show lots of movement between All My Children, One Life to Live, Days, As the World Turns. 7th through 9th tier will be Guiding Light, Capitol, Another World. The bottom tier will be Santa Barbara, Loving, Ryan's Hope, Search for Tomorrow. I think 1986 Santa Barbara overtakes Loving for 10th and that's the highest it will ever finish AFAIK. I don't believe Santa Barbara ever got past Another World in either the weekly ratings or the annual ratings.

Primetime Soaps
None of those shows were labeled primetime soaps or promoted as soaps though, plus AFAIK SOD didn't cover them. In the 1990s, the only primetime shows I remember SOD covering outside the final seasons of the CBS big three primetime soaps were Twin Peaks, Dark Shadows reboot, 90210, Melrose.

B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
That's why Fall 1995 Bradley brought back Sheila then Lauren crossed over from Y&R. Funny thing is, Lauren and Sheila weren't really in each other's orbits for much of the time that Lauren was on B&B. Kimberlin Brown was on pregnancy leave in the early months of 1994. We saw this on Y&R too with Summer 1994 frat party and Fall 1994-Spring 1996 Nick and Sharon eating the show. I'd say it was more trying to get the younger audience away from Reilly's Days than influence from the Spelling Fox shows.

Y&R fan favorite returning
Veronica Redd is 5 years older than Peter Bergman, 10 years older than Beth Maitland, and 11 years older than Eileen Davidson, yet Mamie pretty much raised Jack, Ashley, and Traci.
