  1. But, the rape storyline has been nothing short of irresponsible -- even by DAYS' shoddy standards on the subject.
  2. I can see why Sean Garrison was initially cast as John Abbott, as he bears a slight resemblance to Terry Lester, but I don't think he carried the needed, commanding presence that Jerry Douglas and even Brett Halsey did. He'd have been better off playing someone like Derek Thurston or Lucas Prentiss.
  3. On the one hand, @Soapsuds, I agree. But, on the other hand, I tolerate his presence a lot better than I do some other actors' on this show.
  4. Frankly, I think Ego is the strongest performer to come along on SNL in ages. It's way past time for a woman of color to break out on this show.
  5. Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee, and I'm takin' the Christmas tree down wit' me!
  6. Thanks, @DRW50, for sharing. It's a nice look back at Mariah before she had lapsed into parody.
  7. I'm not so sure we SHOULD return to the '80's. Large swaths of this country, including blue-collar workers and the LGBTQ community, suffered a ton during the Reagan era, which was definitely all about making the rich richer and keeping the poor in the poorhouse. The only difference between then and now, quite frankly, is that the '80's had Aqua Net and shoulder pads.
  8. I couldn't trust that the people behind the revival would know how soaps (even primetime soaps) work, let alone DALLAS. Sadly, in the end, I was proven right.
  9. It's shaping up to be like...well, like a very special episode of "Growing Pains."
  10. Agree. The fact that people in the media and elsewhere have begun referring to it as "NashVegas" rather than Nashville says it all.
  11. I know it's going to pale in comparison to the first movie...but I'mma watch it anyway.
  12. See, this [!@#$%^&*] wouldn't be happening, if NY had gone on ahead and elected Cynthia Nixon as their governor.
  13. I really miss that era of country music. The music was so pure, and purely felt. And it seemed like the record companies valued genuine talent and musicianship over sex appeal and everything else.
  14. Sigh. What can you say, @ChitHappens? Wypipo gonna wypipo.
  15. You tell 'em, Barbara!
  16. Without Harry Anderson and Reinhold Weege, what's the damn point?
  17. Well, I know I'll never be able to watch her w/ Idris Elba and Beyonce in "Obsessed" the same way again.
  18. In a way, Jillian's amnesia was even stupider than that [!@#$%^&*] between Delia and the gorilla.
  19. Sally Sussman had some really great ideas (and yes, some not-so-great ones), but she lacked the ability to carry out those ideas in ways that would compel the audience to watch and keep watching. She definitely could have used a Bill Bell or Agnes Nixon in there, helping her map out the stories.
  20. AFAIC, Lee has been written into a corner. I mean, how do you bring someone back from paying someone to kill their husband's ex-wife? In my book, you can't. And after waiting around for twenty years for Margo to die, the LEAST this show COULD have done for viewers was give them a damn funeral.
  21. I've been ready to let go of some of what I watched from 2002 to the end for a very long time.
  22. Frankly, yes. If they want to run with that dark concept, be my guest. But, I'd rather they leave AMC and Pine Valley out of it. Agree.
  23. That's who this situation needs: Stephanie Forrester. Or at least Susan Flannery. But seriously. I wouldn't put it past him to refuse to leave OR for the Secret Service (or whoever) to remove him. In fact, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see Trump and his camp set up a sort of "second government" from within the WH (and if not there, then, ultimately, somewhere nearby). Of course, the other branches of government would be forced to recognize Biden's administration as the only, legitimate administration. But, like I said, I wouldn't put it past them.
  24. No. Not with this concept. Not with these people attached. Just. No.
