  1. Did they really reset Sharon, though, or did they just explain everything away with mental illness? There's a difference. (Plus, I can't recall whether the bipolar disorder diagnosis came before or after that madness, lol.)
  2. When has that ever stopped this damn show? I mean, if Bradley Bell had had his way, Steffy would screw Liam her new love interest on top of Finn's corpse before the paramedics arrive!
  3. Oh, no, I think Paul could be recast:
  4. Frankly, "resetting" Diane is impossible after everything that occurred during the Maura West days. She's long past the point of no return. You're right, it's not like she has implanted a chip inside Jack's brain (...yet). But, you know, I'm not 100-percent convinced she isn't really Patty Jane but with a "new" face. Unless she agreed not to return to GC until Jack said so and now she's going back on her promise? I'm sorry. It's really great to see SW again and all, but the taint of MAB's writing and MW's miscasting lingers on the character of Diane. There's just no way this will work out long-term.
  5. You had me goin' there, though, lol! I was like, "Surely, Frank isn't stupid enough to bring back that little twirp!".
  6. JoANNE Collins?
  7. I'm sorry, Nicolas Bechtel is back on the show?
  8. I was kidding. Wait, they're getting married on Friday the 13th? SERIOUSLY?? The Genoa City Slasher is gonna love that.
  9. Let me guess: they're NOT binge-watching S2 of "Bridgerton" after all?
  10. But I thought QAnon said all the pedophiles in Washington were in the Democratic Party?
  11. Well, there's your big twist right there! Black people getting something to do again on B&B!
  12. There are fans, there are super-fans, and then there is Elizabeth Taylor. Maybe "The Romance of Helen Trent"? It's a pretty old story, lol. Horseshoes?
  13. I don't know WHAT AW felt like to me during the Laibson/Swajeski regime. Laibson did a pretty good job as EP with an obviously reduced budget and minimal support from P&G and NBC, but Swajeski's stories were just there.
  14. Knowing this show and its' idiot HW, they'd probably say Don went to work for the U.S. Postal Service.
  15. So, that's the big twist, huh? Sheila gets everything she ever wanted. Wow. And thanks very much, @janea4old, for the heads-up. I appreciate the precautions you've taken.
  16. As a writer, Maggie DePriest was about as misogynistic and depressing as Megan McTavish (who, thank God, never had the chance to work on AW, lol). Yet, for some reason, I found her work on every show she worked on far more watchable, if not entertaining.
  17. I've often wondered whether the old Llanview foyer (the one with the stairs leading off-screen) was ever used on DS. Something about that part of the mansion always looked vaguely familiar to me, lol.
  18. Brenda's choice of attire was CLEARLY foreshadowing the mental illness that ran on her mother's side.
  19. Which is why their budget today is literally someone's SSI benefits, and why their core audience has dwindled down to a group of Omaha housewives who don't trust the Internet. And when it comes to the devil's motivations for wanting the baby, your theory's as good as anyone else's, lol.
  20. Somewhere, Tennessee Williams is popping another pill, swilling another martini and helping himself to another, feckless, young stud. Anything to mask his pain.
  21. All the comments and outpouring of memories and emotions in this thread just prove my point: it's not the storylines we care about; it's the characters, and the actors who play them. They are what sustain us as viewers through good times and bad. If only someone would remind TPTB of that.
  22. You are nowhere NEAR being redundant on this board, @vetsoapfan. I, too, value your knowledge and insights about the early years of these shows. It's the next best thing to having actual footage to watch.
  23. Oh, Will (or any gay man) falling in love with a priest would be a FANTASTIC story to watch. I don't think she is either. But, again, the opportunity for organic conflict is there -- Ciara feels comfortable providing financially for their family, but Ben is determined to provide for them and be an all-around better dad to their kid than Clyde was to him and Jordan -- and Ron Carlivati's ignoring it completely. We should be enthralled with the lengths that Ben would go to to support the family. Instead, we're being forced to watch dumb [!@#$%^&*] about gender reveal parties and the devil laying claim on the baby for reasons we're still not 100% clear about.
  24. Even a real-life gender reveal party ends with someone going to the E.R. "It's DAYS. Just Go With It."
  25. What, you don't believe Ben and Ciara (and their baby) could live on love alone? Ben and Ciara arguing over the disparity in their salaries, with old-fashioned Ben believing he, and not his wife, should be the proverbial breadwinner, would give them genuine conflict and better definition - so, of course, Ron Carlivati is gonna run like hell from it.
