Recasting Spencer just might be one of the best decisions Frank ever made lol. Sprina is like a classic soap love story. Playing every beat, every angle, not rushing through it, so that when they do finally share that first kiss or become a couple, it's actually exciting to see.

In an interview, JJ said he would be willing to come back but the show hasn’t reached out to him. And I think as long as Frank is there, we won’t be seeing Lucky. Liz has gotta be the prop for the OLTL friends lol

Idk but we did have to believe that Ryan was able to drag a dead body from the apartment all the way to the Haunted Star without anybody seeing him. I can see them forcing us to believe that Kiki is somehow still alive

Thank you @soapfan770 @beebs and @victoria foxton It sounds like 1980 all over again: a massive cast purge followed by new characters that were immediately placed in front burner stories that proved to be unpopular with fans.

No wonder why SNL called Fred Silverman a lame-o around this time. How did he think that daily 90 minute soaps were the key to raising the ratings? I wonder how Ann Marcus or Elizabeth Harrower would have handled writing a 90 minute episode of Days.

Lemay said that he was the one who wanted it. He was used to writing long scenes in his plays and felt he couldn't do that in the half hour format. At first, the execs. said no, but when the hour long 10th Anniversary episode was successful, they changed their minds.

Maybe something will change once NBC/Sony or whoever sees how successful B&B uploading their first season is (most likely) going to be.

Considering that Mary died "for no reason other than the writer's wish", it does sound like Paul Rauch pretty much gave Lemay free reign once the ratings started to rise.
