  1. Thanks. Jon and Kelley are coming close to two decades of marriage by now, I imagine (didn't they wed around the same time as the DePaivas?).
  2. Speaking of Billy Dee Williams, he is confirmed to be participating in the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars: http://www.today.com/entertainment/dancing-stars-season-18-cast-includes-drew-carey-billy-dee-2D79315522
  3. Thank you, Carl, for filling in the blanks. Boy, Jon Hensley sure was involved with a lot of actresses before marrying one, wasn't he? Are he and Kelley still together (haven't kept up with soap news lately, sorry).
  4. Thanks!! What happened with Kirk and Ellie to end their marriage? I remember him with Lucinda's sister, but not with anyone else. Also, it seemed like Tom Wiggin exited with no fanfare. Did he quit or was he fired? (I'm guessing the latter.)
  5. Thanks for clarifying that. Susan Brown aka Gail Baldwin? Somehow I can't see her and Beverly Penberthy playing the same role, as they look and sound absolutely nothing alike, but it seemed like that character wasn't going to be a major player on the canvas anyway.
  6. Me, too. I know next to nothing about her except that she's Eve Plumb's RL sis. Thanks for clarifying about Richard Backus. He also got an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his work on RH, in addition to his Emmy nods on various soap writing teams.
  7. Speaking of Iva, I had no idea she and Kirk once had a thing for each other - and that Beverly Penberthy (Pat from AW) played his former love interest until watching a random episode from early 1989 on YT.
  8. You're right, and it got even worse once ABC bought the show from Labine/Mayer (though all the Marys were from when L&M Productions owned RH).
  9. That's interesting - what a change in career direction! Is he still based on the East Coast?
  10. Those are both great channels, but I wish I could find more of Amy and Brick in English.
  11. That sounds awesome, Carl. You are just one big treasure trove of soap trivia!! I'm especially interested in the 70s/80s era of SFT: Maree Cheatham, Ann Williams, Anne Wyndham, Joel Higgins, Michael Nouri, Sherry Mathis, Rod Arrants, Lisa Peluso, Louise Shaffer and of course, Louan Gideon...any articles and pictures of them from that time would be awesome if you were to find them. Thanks again!!
  12. Feel better soon!!! I just sent the picture to the Welch kids. Amanda and Liz were overjoyed; neither of them had ever seen that photo before!!
  13. Thanks!! What year was that from? It would have to be between 76 and 78, as I'm guessing this is before she landed EON.
  14. Thank you, Carl!! Is it OK if I pass along this picture to the Welches? (I'm in touch with all four of them.)
  15. Page Moseley (Dylan Hartley, SB, 1985-86) went from show business to the mortgage business. He is now a loan officer in the LA area: http://www.wintrustmortgage.com/loan-officer.html?lo_id=11173
  16. You're welcome! One of my local libraries carries the book, I've read it, and it's great. Dan Welch later on went to work as a location scout for Law & Order (the original). Can't you imagine Ann Williams on any of the L&O shows had she lived? She'd fit right in.
  17. Back in 2009, Ann Williams' (Eunice) children wrote a memoir which is basically a love letter to their parents. Here are a couple of videos from Dan Welch's (Ann's son, whom she was pregnant with IRL while Eunice was pregnant with Suzi) YT channel: The making of the book: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNNuK_tlK4o&list=UUYDstl8KULEWwm3Ywrh8ySA Interview on GMA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgJHEXN7Ooc&list=UUYDstl8KULEWwm3Ywrh8ySA (Morgan Fairchild is one of the interviewees, by the way.)
  18. I'm going to post all this on the SFT thread as well, but since Ann Williams was on EON from 1978-80, I think it goes here, too. In 2009, her four children released a book, which essentially, is a love letter to their parents. Also, according to Liz Welch, Margo was her favorite of her mom's roles. From GMA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgJHEXN7Ooc&list=UUYDstl8KULEWwm3Ywrh8ySA The making-of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNNuK_tlK4o&list=UUYDstl8KULEWwm3Ywrh8ySA
  19. Thanks for sharing that article, Carl. She's another who went too young.
  20. Has anyone ever read the 1987 book Soap Opera Babylon? There's a blurb about Kerry Sherman (Amy): Kerry Sherman, who created the role of Amy Perkins on Santa Barbara, recently became the soap world's latest single mother - and hardly suffered a single moment's doubt or anxiety over her decision. Even though Kerry and her boyfriend, cameraman Jack English, aren't married, Kerry's pregnancy wasn't accidental. "Like many women my age," says Kerry, who's over thirty, "I had gone after a career, not a family, but then I realized I didn't want to miss out on motherhood. And I'm glad I didn't. Erin's father and I have been living together for four years, and we've agreed that if we should split up, our daughter Erin will remain with me. So far, marriage isn't something we've discussed. I don't really think about it." Kerry worked on Santa Barbara all through her pregnancy, and shortly before Erin's arrival in 1985, the other actresses on the show organized a baby shower for her. "But the men got very upset that they were excluded," laughs Kerry. "They said, 'This is 1985 and we want to be invited, too!' So the men all chipped in and bought a crib for the baby - then they tried to storm the celebration!" Santa Barbara's head writers, Jerome and Bridget Dobson, sent Erin a pair of mink booties (with a note saying that it's never too soon for a girl to start wearing mink!) and the show's producer, Mary-Ellis Bunim, let Kerry install a crib in her dressing room so Erin could come to work with her. "Everyone on the set adores Erin," says Kerry, "especially the single women who've never had children. Some of the actresses fight over who gets to hold her next. I can't help laughing when they come into my dressing room to play with her, and she throws up all over their cashmere sweaters. Judith McConnell (Sophia) is great with her, though. She'll say, 'Kerry, the baby's crying. Let me take her. I know how to make her feel better.' And I'll laugh and say, 'OK, Judith, knock yourself out!'" Even Kerry's mom, 1940ish film star Peggy Ryan, has accepted Kerry's decision to stay single. "Jack's family and mine would have preferred us to be married," admits Kerry, "but they know this is our choice and they respect it. Actually, Judith Anderson (who plays Minx Lockridge on Santa Barbara) is the only one who's upset. Dame Judith calls Jack up all the time and says, "So when are you going to propose to her, young man? I think it's high time you two got married, you know!" Dame Judith Anderson?! Can this possibly be the same woman who's one of the most renowned stars of the English-speaking stage? Who, as Medea and Lady Macbeth, gave new meaning to the term "blood-curdling?" Turns out even if she is a WASP - and a dame to boot - she's really just a Jewish mother at heart. P.S. Kerry Sherman and Jack English did eventually marry, and are still together. They are the parents of three children: Erin, Kate and John. (Funny that her real-life son and fictional son on SB shared the same name!) Now she is a family counselor in Burbank. Erin posted this photo of her dancing parents (from 2012) on her Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/EnglishErin/status/206965798462427137/photo/1
  21. Interesting...I never knew all that. Thanks.
  22. Yeah, and didn't Richard Backus also play Barry Ryan on RH?
  23. Thanks. I do know that she and Diana van der Vlis stayed friends until the latter's passing. Diana's husband was in the publishing business and was instrumental in launching Louise's first novel (according to Louise on FB).
  24. "Sister Rocket" - sounds like a punk band. LOL
