  1. It's just too bad that people like Sarah Felder, Karen Morris-Gowdy and John Blazo, to name a few, never really achieved fame outside of RH. No matter what people may have thought of the latter two in the roles of Faith and Pat, that they were miscast, it's a shame they never found roles that played to their strengths. Poor Sarah Felder was never seen onscreen at all after leaving RH. If I'm not mistaken, RH was the only soap all three of them ever appeared on - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
  2. Great plan. Have fun!!
  3. I take it that the DVR is already set up for this coming Wednesday?
  4. I like both versions, but I personally give the edge to the original. But hey, it's a great song no matter who sang it - with exceptional lyrics. "The good times that made us laugh outweigh the bad..."
  5. I have a friend who thought that Boyz II Men were the first to sing "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday". I sent her the link of G.C. Cameron's original from the Cooley High soundtrack. I assume Lawrence-Hilton Jacobs will be in the episode (at least, I hope!!). In any case, it looks like it will be a good episode. Can't wait to see it.
  6. As I recall, he was on the writing staff of Y&R for many years. Before that, I think he was on Pam Long's writing team on GL.
  7. I never understood why Marcia McCabe never got another really good soap role after SFT. I know she had short-term gigs on AW and ATWT, but nothing of substance. She would have been (and still could be) an asset on any soap.
  8. Especially in Flip's final episode where OJ was thought to be Geraldine's boyfriend..."Killer"? That made me shiver.
  9. I feel bad that Dane Witherspoon was cut loose from this show, like he was from SB, with no closure in the storyline. From what I've been able to piece together from various articles I've read from the old SODs and newspaper articles from Google News Archives, he became so disillusioned from show business that he eventually left it altogether and moved to the Denver area to establish himself as an independent businessman. He has two teenage sons from his second ex-wife.
  10. Thank you - try saying her name three times fast. Wow!!!
  11. There's definitely a strong resemblance between father and son. I've read his birthdate at several sites as August 12, 1935. He's pushing 80!! Wow.
  12. Thanks, I appreciate it. I can SEE her, just can't remember her name. LOL
  13. It was a pretty good episode tonight about Flip Wilson. Next week, the movie Cooley High will be profiled.
  14. I remember being both surprised and impressed that Julianne Moore made a guest appearance on ATWT, especially so close to its cancellation. She's never had anything but good things to say about her soap career, ATWT, the people she worked with on soaps and soaps in general. What a classy gal.
  15. Wasn't Tory Granger played by that same girl who was on OLTL? (I'm blanking on both her real name and her character's name on OLTL.)
  16. Who were the EPs around when the Dobsons and Doug Marland were writing the show way back when?
  17. Yes, it does. God bless him. I'm looking forward to the Flip Wilson episode tonight. His show was before my time, and I don't know that much about him, so this should be a good ep.
  18. Thank you for that thoughtful response. Listening to the Brandon's Buzz blog talk interview with Pam Long from 2009, the only EP at GL she really talked about was Gail Kobe, so it's interesting to hear about the other EPs that were there at the same time she was.
  19. I knew Jen had been assaulted, but never knew there was a trial. Thanks for sharing that clip.
  20. Who do you all think was the last GOOD producer of GL?
  21. Carl, or anyone else out there who collects vintage soap magazines, would you please post what articles you can of Marty/Patrick? I seem to remember one article (either SOM or SOD, I tend to think it's the former, from late '96 early '97), that profiled the triangle with Dylan Moody. The opening line went something like, "Two men in love with the same woman, and she's in love with both of them for different reasons. What a great triangle". Thanks to anyone who can help!!!
  22. Don't worry, TV One repeats their Unsung eps all the time. I did see the Dick Gregory episode (and it was great to see Richard Belzer among the interviewees), it was very good. Wednesday at 10 PM is the newest ep - about Flip Wilson.
  23. OK, thanks!!! Wasn't he also on How to Survive a Marriage, like she was? Is that where they met?
