  1. Has Nia Long ever really talked about her time on the show in any interviews after she left? I just stumbled upon her Uncensored episode on TV One, and she basically said GL was her first acting gig, and then jumped right into talking about her role in Boys n the Hood. It was so disappointing that she didn't even really talk about it.
  2. Even though she's technically a 1 hit wonder (in the US at least) and this is also a cover, it's a great signature pop song to have if you can only have just one.
  3. Riche also did a good job of checking Tony Geary's ego, and he hated her for that.
  4. To be fair, Riche's last couple of years set a dangerous precedent for the show that it's never really been able to shake ever since (the mob emphasis and the Sonny/Jason/Carly trio as God mentality). All of that started under her leadership. Her last year or two were not very good, IMO.
  5. I think Wendy Riche said that the only real story going on when she joined was a medical malpractice suit against Monica - everything else she said wasn't even a real story.

  7. Sorry haters, but the Roseanne revival is a real treat: EW review
  8. I know Wendy Riche's early interviews were not very kind to Monty - I remember Riche going on and on about how there weren't actually any stories going on when she joined the show, at least nothing with any substance..
  9. Did Monty ever give an interview after that disastrous second stint ended? Curious to know what her take was on why it didn't work. It must have been humiliating for Monty to not even make it a full year after her success only a decade prior.
  10. I feel like it was inevitable once the luster of the revival diminished. I'm willing to bet the same thing happens to ABC's revival of Roseanne. Even the original run of W&G was not the sustainable ratings hit it's now somehow now perceived to be (and the show didn't fare that well in local syndication, and floated around for years on cable). Tt has a passionate/loyal audience, and that's enough to keep shows on the air in this present broadcast climate.
  11. It was weird seeing Darlene and Becky hug in that trailer - that would've never happened with they were teens, lol. I think they're going to have to soften Darlene's character a bit in this reboot, as she's now an established mother of two. Darlene arguably had the most charter development/progression in the original series, so it would make sense to me.
  12. The original show was a big hit from the first episode too. Someone on Twitter posted this article - the show premiered the same week as the World Series, and the only scripted show to beat it that week was The Cosby Show (the #1 show on TV at that point, which Roseanne would displace).
  13. This trailer has more scenes from the new season:
  14. If there was any show ABC was likely looking at, it was probably Will & Grace vs. Girls Meets World or even Fuller House. W&G is the only other reboot on broadcast TV - cable audiences are generally small and Netflix viewership means jack to a broadcast network. Granted the W&G reboot didn't premiere yet when the Roseanne reboot was ordered, but it did generate a lot of buzz in advance. Anyway, ABC has spent a shitload of money on promoting this reboot, everyone and their mother knows the show is coming back at this point. ABC seems to have a lot of faith, let's see if viewers actually come back. Though, I guess, you don't need a ton of viewers to e successful these days...
  15. Also, you can't expect most of America to sit through 4+ hours of an award show for movies the majority of people haven't seen or have no intention of ever seeing...
  16. I guess she can parlay it into doing very crappy movies that cater to the lowest common denominator and having the media push her as some type of comedic genius, when she's really not that funny... It's working for Kevin Hart, I guess....
  17. I'll be very surprised if anyone knows who Haddish even is in two years...
  18. I didn't realize it was her, but Hollyoaks alum Rachel Shenton and her fiance won the Oscar last night for Best Live Action Short Film for The Silent Child.
  19. Luckily, this show and the original aren't exactly quality entities, so most of the core audience probably won't care/notice unless the show changes tone drastically....
  20. Despite the Olympics competition, it did well in the ratings. It was a (tied) season high for 20/20.
  21. Boredom and Justin Timberlake go hand and hand...
  22. Interesting Bollywood remix of a Madonna classic:
