  1. Jackie had so many jobs in the original show, I'm sure her new profession won't last.
  2. I thought Simon and Garrett worked as best friends though. They may not have had romantic sparks, but I thought they were believable as two people who loved one another (platonically at least) and would always have some type of connection.
  3. I also seriously doubt ABC would give them carte blanche to put on a Trump propaganda show. This isn't on streaming or cable, so will be subject to network censorship.
  4. Yeah, even in just a brief appearance, I still can't stand Mel. Tamzin also looks like she's been hitting the bottle hard - she's an attractive woman, but that face isn't ageing well...
  5. This article has some new story details I hadn't seen previously.
  6. Swajeski's AW was probably the last "consistent" era of the show, but I myself never got the big deal about it, and I think a lot of it hasn't aged well (beyond the production). They were lucky to have a pretty solid cast, a lot of whom made the material work somehow.
  7. Roseanne and John Goodman presenting at the Golden Globes - they both look good, and I was surprised to see them presenting:
  8. Holy sh!t - this week was the 25th anniversary of Maureen finding out about Ed/Lillian and the superbly written/acted confrontation scenes with Mo/Lillian in the Bauer kitchen (this Thursday will be the actual 25th anniversary of Maureen's death). "You have reduced us to a ridiculous suburban joke and I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS!" will live with me forever. Bravo to Courtney Simon for the dialogue.
  9. Slightly longer version of the PEOPLE interview: https://www.facebook.com/RoseanneABC/videos/10156237122269701/
  10. Calhoun likely retired because he was sick of network/corporate interference. I know Nancy Curlee once said he fought/went to bat for her on numerous occasions, perhaps he just got sick of fighting for his work.
  11. To this day, Calhoun never gets the credit for his work at ATWT or GL. His ATWT is overshadowed by praise for Marland (and Marland's work was not as strong with Laurence Caso as EP, IMO), and he's overlooked for his GL contributions because JFP ended taking a lot of credit for things he help set in motion.
  12. Julie Goodyear in full Bet Lynch gear for tonight's Big Soap Quiz:
  13. The re-created set is pretty amazing! I liked what Sara and John said about the characters have an established 30 year history and a lot can be said about them without even saying it.
  14. Patsy seems genuinely happy to not be acting or playing Bianca anymore. She seems to have settled well into her new career and life in Malibu, I don't think we'll ever see Bianca again (which is probably for the best, given her last few years on the show). I do wish they weren't bringing Tiffany back though - what's the use? Whitney is not a strong enough connection, and I don't see the point with Bianca, Ricky, Carol, Pat, or even Janine not currently on the show. i kind of don't want to see any of the Butcher's back unless it's Janine (who I don't think should come back to the show in its current state, though I thought John Yorke did a good job of developing her during his early 00's stint).
  15. The show feels very soul-less, repetitive and regressive. I don't know what to say about this Branning/Stacey nonsense, other than I feel these characters are damaged and should be written out for good at this point. The show needs some type of massive overhaul and focus. Also, Yorke is brining back Mel and Kat? Is he trying to re-create his 2000-2002 era? While that era will always be close to my heart, it does remind that that sometimes you just can't relive the past - maybe EE should stop trying to run back to Yorke whenever there's a big crisis (like 2005 and now). I had no desire to ever see Mel again when she left, and I don't look forward to hearing about some revenge storyline against Phil (which is sure to happen) upon her return. Kat was Yorke's crown jewel and his creation, so I'm hopeful he probably won't screw her up again (he was responsible for a lot of her 2005 character development as well), but we'll see. Also, the show doesn't have the same caliber of actors and writers it had in the early 00's to carry out the same type of storytelling....
  16. At least it ABC seems committed to promoting the reboot well ahead of its March premiere...
