  1. Yeah, I gotta give them props for dealing with that on screen.
  2. Same. It's been very good. And I won't take away from that. And then someone like Jacinta Val comes on screeen and...*takes a breath* Awww congrats to her. Given she's a recast to boot, it's good to see she made it to four years. Me!!! Soaps always get good when a character has to leave the canvas. Again, it says a lot about the writing that momentum picked up just because of an actor needed to not be working. But it also says a lot about Jason's place on the canvas that so much is happening. Sonny could leave tomorrow and would the canvas really suffer? At this point, probably not.
  3. So very 'don't have the experience, but can't get the experience without trying.' I do have my issues, but I still watch.
  4. Nope. It's coming! Probably by Britt playing matchmaker. Wacka wacka!
  5. I haven't watched today's episode yet, but I am ready for tomorrow.
  6. All I'm taking from these comments is that the show has wasted another character that had great potential, an excellent intro, and an actor who can acted AND look good. And yet we have Valentin in on his 523th return to whining and Jacinta being in the spot where a stronger (and preferably legacy) actress should be.
  7. Dominic Zamprogna in this suit....MMMMMMMMMmmm. And I am happy that the writers are writing in his POV about Nathan/Lulu, but I guess I missed when he found out. He did find out on screen, right? I'll give you that. It is less frequent. I love and mentioned that in their second year, these writers discovered what I called shifting. They have for the most part been able to shift the main storyline while keeping almost all of the momentum from the main storyline of that moment taking a break. At the same time, having interesting enough stories surrounding the main storyline to hold an audience's attention. Rotating A, B, C, (and on this show D) plots surprisingly. They had even managed to keep some of their bad writing flaws from jumping over the ledge, too. But because of that, when there is a lull, it stands out even more than during their first year. It reminds me of how GH usually has a great February Sweeps and momentum just flows and then March/April comes around and someone coughFrank*cough* decides to kill the momentum by focusing on chracters no one care about, silliness humor, and general 'factory settings.'
  8. That reminds me that I wanted to say how much I have loved the addition of Monica. Shanice gets family. And she's coming in how a newbie should come in...gradually. So far my favorite moments has been her Mama Joyce-ing Ted, telling SilkPress what time it is, and of course, yesterday's talk with Anita (yeah, I'm finally caught up. ;) )
  9. That just makes me think of the snowstorm. But true. It's good to see the temp exit forced momentum to come back into play. Says a lot about the writing.
  10. Same. Val is more whiny than he is dangerous. And no amount of propping has helped change that.
  11. Yeah, I hate to say it, but I'm still behind, but outside of Jacinta all things Val, I actually am enjoying what I've been binging. And I hate to say it, but there's a momentum to it again and I want to know what happens next in spite of myself or Frank pulling the rug out from under me with stupid silly humor.
  12. Hehe. And I live for your meh as much as you live for my mute. But also like me...you will give when credit is due.
  13. NJ Well, Bravo has announced that NJ has come off of 'pause' with Teresa, Melissa, and Dolores returning to film for the incoming season. ETA: Marge announced she was out (and filming a new show elsewhere allegedly) on her Insta. RHOP Meanwhile, they are saying the cast rumor is Gizelle, Wendy, Ashley, Stacey, and Tia with Karen, a new girl, and ROBYN Juan's Roommate back.
  14. For sure. But still enjoyable mess. Unless they lost momentum. Again.
  15. I agree. I can tell the energy has shifted and they got their momentum back. And I've been enjoying my too-slow due to work binging. It's holding my interest again.
  16. I've been meaning to get back to this post but life has been life-ing. But now that I have time...while I know we have some differences in where stories go, we usually agree on so much overall. This is no difference. I totally agree. It's rare that I get behind on BTG. Well...when CBS isn't purposely not adding episodes to my system. lol. But it has been noticeable to me that I do get behind. I also rewatch less again when I used to love to do so because BTG is the kinda of show where you can miss little things and go back and watch and then see something new. That said...why I am still enjoying it, I feel they have lost all of their momentum. Whoever's idea it was to attempt the same technique for this year that they used for last year in terms of writing (waiting until May for payoffs while developing stories) really should be shook. What (debatably) worked last year IS NOT working this year. Worse, I feel they are doing what GH has been doing in a way. With GH...the main story that gets a lot of interest...on this board for sure...is the messy drama between Michael, Drew, and Willow. MESSY...ONSCREEN...DRAMA. When the show doesn't focus on that, it feels very 'throw something at the wall and see what sticks' IMHO. With BTG it's Anita's Cancer that appears to be the main story. And when it's not on with its well-paced self, there's that same feeling of 'throwing everything at the wall.' BUT nothing is sticking. Stuff is happening off screen like an episode of JG's Y&R. And that just makes it worse. And it does seem clear that Guza was the main plotter on staff. That was very clear in the story of Doug/Vanessa/Joey which is why it was always the best paced of the B plots. So well-paced, it could hold up weeks of episodes without ever being an A story. And I agree with everything said about the stories above. Love them or hate them, but the Eva/Kat rivalry had legs to run for years. Now they just snarl at each other. There are no shades of grey to them, either which is why it was so compelling. And bones of a plot was there in spite of Tomas's actor being a stick of wood. Silk Press Sheila's storyline was the best of the A plots. And now? She's just a cartoon with no layers. Circling the mute button every week for me. Not that this year has been bad. I had mentioned before that I do like that we do have Dupree main stories. Anita's story is of course front and center and the best paced of them all. I know I am in the minority, but I love the Carlton/Nicole/Kial storyline. And it does appear that it is slooooowwly growing into its next phase...which is overdue. The Bill/Dani/Andre storyline which was a breakout storyline last year has totally fallen onto the backburner with a little too much propped writing at one point so I'm glad that propped writing has stopped and got back to the organic writing it had that held my interest. I still don't know nor has anyone answered...did Bill drop the investigation about what Andre did a year before he came back to Fairmont Crest? Good to see the main characters be main characters, but a little bit of ON-SCREEN balance would be nice. What I really don't like is that it does not at all have to be this way. At the start of February, not only did you have the Anita's Cancer storyline, but there were two stories getting traction...the Cotillion and Hayley's storyline thanks to the introduction of Lynette. Both were building nicely. The Cotillion has vanished for...the attempt to do last year by having a payoff waaaay in the future. And the Hayley storyline was completely derailed...including an OFF-SCREEN visit to St. Barts which would have been perfect for the climax or a new turn in that storyline. It really reminded me of when GH would get great momentum with all of its stories moving and then suddenly, it hits the wayside. Like where is the momentum? For those reasons alone, I think Guza really was the mover in the plots and without him, it just feels like characters floating around...good characters mind you...searching for a story.
  17. You betta sing my song!!! lol. There should always be a main story that is well paced with other stories moving right along. Something I felt they eventually started to get. Now it seems like they are just scattered again. Le sigh.
  18. Well there's a certain silk pressed haired woman that is cruising for that position, too. ;P Though I given at a comment she made on Friday.
  19. Same. And Miami is one of the few shows that they are always giving in their off-seasons so Bravo might as well just film them year-round. This is so much UGH. Well, we are better off trying to find a Housewife who has managed to AVOID the second season curse as I always call it. Because these shows are so littered with housewives that always fall to it. Heck I'm surprised that for the past year and a half, Bravo has managed to find so many housewives that had superb rookie seasons.
  20. You know what? I totally forgot about the documentary. Did it ever make it stateside? @DramatistDreamer
  21. That story and great word of mouth was my introduction to DAYS. And it was the gothic nature, Sami, and my eyes falling on Drake Hogestyn for the first time that kept me watching.
