  1. To be blunt, they can all go f*ck themselves. Yeah, I have a hard time believing any of these people around him didn't know about the rumors. His name came up continually on Blind Gossip whenever there was a blind item about casting couches or the like. I didn't even really know who he was, but I knew that his name was out there as an abuser.
  2. Someone as connected as Oprah probably did know. Does that really make it her responsibility to out him when so many other people knew who were closer to the situation?
  3. Maybe the nursing agency should have some balls and stop sending these young women to the slaughter? He's 95 years old, someone in his life needs to tell him no and get him a male nurse.
  4. That is depressing as f*ck. I can't believe he has over 1,000 days left to destroy our nation.
  5. ^ He's a monster. I only hope the people of Arizona agree.
  6. Plus why give up your freedom and subject yourself to all that scrutiny? There are so many reasons for a person in her position not to though. I'd be damned if I'd put up with people's bullsh*t if I were her. Also, would she divest herself of her empire? I wonder if one of 45's lasting legacies is that presidents will no longer feel the need to rid themselves of all those conflicts of interest.
  7. I'll have to agree with you there. If we are going to submit to rule by oligarch, it may as well be Oprah. At least we can be sure she's not a psychopath.
  8. Mostly I agree with you, but HRC wasn't just any white woman. She is the subject of a very effective, decades long hit job by the right. Like you I don't want another celebrity/billionaire. This cannot be the new normal, although I fear that it is. It's really stunning to hear people say the same things that qualified Trump qualifies Oprah. Just because you can make a ton of money does not mean you are qualified to run the government. If Trump didn't teach us that lesson I guess we just can't be taught.
  9. April Ryan was on CNN earlier saying that we've entered an age where it's not enough to be a politician. Americans now want a rock star and the entertainment that comes from that. Jesus help us if that's true. I can't begin to predict how much support Oprah would have. She has that certain something and as far as I can see white women love her. I even like her, even though I hate the kind of lifestyle guru thing she has represented at times. "Live your best life". I have no patience with that kind of thing. That said, I would surely take her over the likes of Mark Cuban. Still, it's deeply disturbing to me that we are on the edge of being directly ruled by one billionaire after the next. I question the empathy of any human being with a billion dollars. Seriously ask yourself if you could feel comfortable having a billion dollars when there are children starving to death. I think at this point she has no idea how real people live. Remember that road trip she did?
  10. I'm not sure what to think about all this talk of Oprah being our next president. Part of me balks at another unqualified billionaire being elected due to a cult of personality. Another part of me thinks it would be a good thing to break the barrier of a black women becoming president. Anything is better than another four years of Trump.
  11. I hope all of these people get what's coming in the new year.
  12. This is so f*cked up. Thank goodness she has a Go Fund Me account and people are coming through for her. I hope whoever did this goes to prison.
  13. One of Roy Moore's accusers had her house set on fire. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/367703-ex-obama-staffer-starts-gofundme-for-moore-accuser-whose-house
  14. When I think about how these nominations will affect us for generations, I'm just sickened.
  15. I'm sorry you are struggling Khan. I completely understand. We just have to outlast this SOB. If he doesn't send us all to glory, I really do think his days are numbered. This level of chaos isn't sustainable, imo. Now that the Republicans have their tax cuts I think they might cut Trump loose.
  16. We are in a very dangerous period. Yes, these despicable people are imploding, but when a powerful nation is unstable terrible things can happen. TLDR: I'm still drinking. :-)
  17. It's not as simple as that, imo. Think of how awful the people in this administration (past and present) are as a whole. Anything they say is bound to be some sick mix of lies, exaggeration, mendacity and a sprinkling of truth. So while I certainly don't take any of what was said as gospel, I do think there is enough truth in it to show us an administration in chaos, led by self-serving imbeciles who hate each other. And sure, there is a little part of me that is gleeful at their misery and incompetence. The rest of me is terrified both for America and the rest of the world. He has already screwed up a lot of lives with his terrible policies. There are people who will never be made whole even after he's led off in a straight jacket or handcuffs and his policies are reversed. As for Omarosa, now that is going to be some spilled tea and confirmation of some of what we learned today. I hope she is typing with a quickness.
  18. These people are so out of touch with reality that I completely agree. I imagine that book is full of lies, but I would be hard pressed to figure out what is true and what isn't.
  19. I believe that he thought he was going to lose because all of the polling showed that. I also believe he saw losing as something he could profit from. However, If he didn't want the job he's had nearly a year to resign. I wonder if there are 50 people in all of D.C. who wouldn't let out a huge sigh of relief, if he did just that. Meanwhile, I think he loves the attention that comes with being POTUS. This stuff with North Korea is really disturbing. It's like some dystopian novel where the real threat is always in the background, but overshadowed by what seems like more imminent disasters. https://twitter.com/Max_Fisher/status/948609958882496512
  20. ^ Well, a hell of a lot is going on today. Never a break from the madness. It would take someone of Mueller's caliber and with his resources to figure out the truth in those articles. Some of it is obviously true, but given who the sources are I'd say there is a lot of self servings lies in there too. My take away is that no one worthy or capable of being in charge is at the helm of our nation. It's terrifying. While I want to believe Bannon, I don't. Not to say I am sure he's lying. I'm just saying he doesn't have much credibility with me. If this were a jury I would need a lot corroboration.
  21. Radicalized in Kansas. This is really the stuff of nightmares to me. It's almost like these guys choose to be brainwashed with hate. http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/12/a-militias-plot-to-bomb-somali-refugees-in-garden-city-ks.html?src=longreads
  22. ^ Not surprised. He's ruined the safe havens a benign, but incompetent President could hide in. You can tell that even Justin Trudeau can't stomach him. The French and Brit's even want no part. They aren't going to try to protect him or prop him up like they might have done for W. Netanyahu will tolerate the useful idiot, but makes Trump look even more extreme when they are seen together.
  23. ^ Good. They shouldn't be allowed to prepay. I also don't root for them to find ways around it. Let them suffer. They can afford it, unlike the poor children who are being denied healthcare.
  24. We'll know in the fall of 2018. If there is a crack down and even higher levels of voter suppression we'll know that our democracy is really screwed. If there is a relatively free and fair election we might be at the beginning of the end of this nightmare. Assuming 45 doesn't get us into WWIII, of course. I see that a lot of people smarter than myself seem to think that Mueller will come up with evidence of money laundering and that Kushner was involved. We'll see. It takes some hubris to go down that road after you've seen your own father do time.
