I think there is some hope that swing voters will come back our way. A lot of hope. I guess we'll see over the next couple of years. For now all we can do is fight where we can and endure. Sadly, I'm also feeling a lot of hate for these people right now. I don't like feeling that way, but I do.

It's cool. If it were a real debate It would all be good. He just purposely says racist things to upset people here. As to Jerusalem I'm also pro-Israel, which is why I think it's a terrible idea to mess with the status quo. It could very easily lead to war. I didn't catch that. Thanks! Some people were let go at my husband's company. I just feel really bad for them. Then juxtaposed with this stupid tax bill passing it really makes me angry. Corporations are chewing people up and spiting them out, while getting huge tax cuts. Not to mention the truly poor people who are getting screwed by this. That's really the worst part. Thanks Jane. It's just hard not to get down with all this terrible stuff happening daily, but I know a lot of people are going through the same thing.

A few of years ago a conservative "friend" said to my husband, "I know you're Jewish, but I'm going to say Merry Christmas anyway". At the time I thought it was slightly obnoxious, but we answered "Merry Christmas". Today I would say "I know you're a Christian, but Happy Hanukkah". Petty? You bet. I agree with you though that being inclusive is the nice way to go, since there are so many holidays this time of year.

Well, Harry gets a point back for that one. He'll get another when he produces some cute babies to take more focus off of Trump's daily horrors. Not that I'm forgetting the Nazi uniform incident for a second, but anyone who pisses off Trump can't be all bad. Plus I always want to believe in redemption. I have to at this point in history. I've always voted in state and national elections. I've also always been lucky enough to live in places where it's easy to do. One thing I really hope we can do is make it easy for everyone to vote. If we could just overcome that hurdle Democrats would be doing better I think. Watching Trump's speech, "I told you we'd say Merry Christmas again". When did anyone stop you? I grew up saying it and have always said it back to people who say it to me even now.

I wish Twitter would suspend 45 for those tweets, but they won't. I've also seen people complaining about how hard it is having to actually engage in democracy by calling their Congress people. My response is suck it up buttercups. Some people were doing this all along and the rest of us lazy asses should have been. I refuse to try to make even a sip of lemonade from 45's election, but I will say I'll never take democracy for granted again.

They can be awful, no doubt. My point is only that you start to see something like humanity and kindness emerging early on. There is just nothing of that in Trump, it's bizarre. I think he might be a psychopath. People throw that word around, but the way he seems to take pleasure (and he even smiles sometimes) when he's bullying people is disturbing. Are they really going to get this insane tax bill passed?

Toddlers get a bum rap. When my 2 1/2 year old accidentally hurts me he stops, rubs the spot, asks if I'm ok and then says "I sorry". Trump looks for ways to hurt people, thinks it's fun and refuses to apologize. There is something missing in him.

The worst part of that story (for me) was the picture of the kid. Raising a child in this Nazi bullshit should be considered child abuse. Also, the NYT rebuttal to all the criticism they got over this story was weak. I think they know they dropped the ball, but these kinds of stories get them clicks.
