  1. Jerry Douglas flirts with Angie Dickinson on the 70's series Police Woman.
  2. Here is an early TV appearance by Brooke Bundy on Ozzie and Harriet in 1963. She plays a girl that Rick is dating and spills a malt and slams the car door on her dress. Rick sings The Very Thought Of You at the end. At this time Rick had just married his real life Kris (the sister of actor Mark Harmon and Kelly Harmon the Tic Tac girl). Kris would make her debut on O&H shortly after this episode. She was pregnant with Tracy who was born October 63. Since ABC had a morals claus in the Nelson family contracts. The Nelsons placed a full term and healthy baby Tracy in a incubator and claimed she was premature so public wouldn't count back to the wedding. Years later Tracy battled lymphoma in the 80's. I wonder if the incubator incident may have contributed since the early ones were notorious for causing all kinds of health problems.
  3. Here is Randy Hamilton circa 1979 hosting the Nickelodeon show America Goes Bananaz. The guest is some guy named Tod Foster. He appeared in some commercials around this time and had a minor hit called Dancin which he performs during the second act. The first song sounds something like The Partridge Family and the second song Dancin sounds like a Bee Gees knock off with some Rod Stewart thrown in. I googled him and he now sells Audi cars in Florida.
  4. Lee Phillip Bell in the ad for All/Amoco at 23:29. Carla Borelli of Texas/Another world is in the For Brunettes Only/Calm ad.
  5. I miss the days when they advertised thing on TV like food, soap, furniture polish etc......this day and time all they advertise is car insurance, prescription drugs, cell phones service, and .com websites. All ads today also show people playing with an app on their phone. Robert Urich......he starred in a bunch of short lived series. He would do a show and it would get cancelled after 1 season and the following season he would be back with another new series.
  6. I ran across a short clip of Melody Thomas Scott talking about filming the show in her early days when it was 30 minutes, She told about when they filmed live to tape and how they only had about 2 minutes for the commercial break to set up the next scene. Eric Braeden asked her if she could hear the commercials, did they do a countdown before the tape started rolling again etc...he joked he was glad he started later. I assume the taping technique changed when the show went to an hour in 1980 when Eric joined.
  7. UGH.....Miranda Marlowe. That marriage to Bob made no sense what so ever. I was only 5 or 6 at the time and thought it was stupid.
  8. Another Promo.s For Loving Friends and Perfect Couples. .
  9. Here's a short promo for Loving Friends and Perfect Couples.
  10. Colleen Zenk in the Ivey's Ads. The guy modeling the shirt in the first one looks kind of like Dennis Parker from EON. I doubt it's him though.
  11. I agree. ABC and NBC seemed to dominate for decades. Y&R kind of got neglected, especially for it's first decade. None of those early actors were ever submitted for awards to my knowledge. Even the covers of soap mags rarely put Y&R on it.
  12. I agree. When those 1975 episodes were posted a few years back, the viewer hits those got was phenomenal. Millions of people, many who never saw the early years or even born yet were remarking how great they were and wanted to see more.
  13. I know it is impossible to release all of the episodes on DVD, but they could do a a 70's box set, a 80's box set etc....of some of the most memorable moments. Streaming online or airing them on a retro channel like RTV does with The Doctors would be even better to see a full run.
  14. I bet it was the same woman on Danfling's board that was posting on Media Domain. She would go on and on about dialogue between Chris & Snapper, Leslie & Lorie etc...like she had episodes she was viewing in front of her. People would ask her were she was seeing those and she would never reply. There was one poster there too that was a guy and he had memory like an elephant. He could remember all these detailed scenes and dialog that happened 30 plus years ago and could answer question about Y&R's past at the drop of a hat. I don't know what happened to Media Domain. I remember it just disappeared. It was a fun board to read. Youtube is bad to pull Y&R material. I remember those handful of 1975 episodes being on there and then pulled within a month. I'm always seeing daytime game shows, commercials etc from tape recording from the late 70's, but never any Y&R from that time.
  15. I remember seeing an interview with Kathleen Turner on a talk show and they showed a clip of her on The Doctors. She said that her character flipped flopped and the horrible writers were to blame.
  16. This may have been posted before, but here is a 1998 interview with Sela Ward where she discusses being at the real Studio 54 and playing in the film. They also show a few short clips of her on OLTL circa 1978/79.
  17. I hate the way Steve keeps defending Mona and her treatment of Carolee. Mona clearly thinks Carolee is beneath them in social class and is calling Ann on the phone. She's lucky Carolee doesn't go ape crap and catch her napping and give her an injection or hold a pillow over her freaking face.
  18. I get frustrated trying to find anything pre mid 80's for Y&R. Somebody out there who could afford to of had a VCR/Betamax recorder during the1977-1983 time frame had to of taped Y&R. Not everyone was watching ABC/NBC daytime.
  19. I remember several years ago on the defunct media domain Y&R board, there was a poster there who would talk about past stories. The way their posts were, it sounded as if they had vintage 70's episodes on tape and would write detailed accounts of what was happening onscreen. A lot of people would question them about having episodes, but they would never reply.
  20. I think that is Chandler Hill Harben in this ad.
  21. I just saw the episode where Billy lets it slip to Mona that Steve was accused and locked up for the death of his father and she has a heart attack. I can't wait to see the follow up episode. Cathy is so gross walking around with that dead fetus inside of her. Dr. DeSales is an interesting character. I wonder if he becomes a major player beyond the Cathy story ?
  22. An episode from 1978 with Leif Garret and Lisa Whelchel.
  23. The Pilot episode.
  24. I decided to start a thread for this drama, even though it might not be considered a soap. I was looking at the first season a few weeks ago and always wondered why they replaced Elayne Heilveil in the role of Nancy ? I thought she was fine, especially in the Pilot. I have read Elayne was fired because they thought she wasn't coming across the way they had hoped, then also someone claimed she didn't want to sign on for a weekly series. There was another actress recast in the role, but when they hired Meredith Baxter, she had to go back a retape scenes. Cheryl Ladd also was being considered, but I don't think she filmed anything. Aaron Spelling kept her in mind and then cast her on Charlie's Angels when Farrah left in 1977. I think Brianne Leary from Chips looked similar to Elayne Heilveil and wonder what she would have been like as Nancy. I think she is younger than EH. Brianne is on the right.
