  1. Watching some 1977-1980 GL makes you wonder why they never brought back Elizabeth Spaulding. I liked Lezlie Dalton in the role. It would have been nice to see her come back in the role for at least some guest appearances.
  2. That would have been interesting to see Trudy come back homeless, especially if they could had gotten another soap veteran to play Trudy. I also noticed over the years reading synopsis a lot of writers seemed to want to kill a lot of Bert's family off, which had never been seen onscreen.
  3. I was looking back over some early GL stuff and wonder why writers never did much with Trudy Bauer ? Meta was on and off the show over years, but Trudy was written out by 1959.
  4. I found this photo online of Elissa Leeds and Robin Mattson. They both played the role of Hope Bauer.
  5. I didn't mean to let the cat of the bag, but just wanted to give a heads up. The two episodes from 1977 was so great and to see the climax of a plot that had been going on for nearly 2 years with Carolee/Steve/Ann. I hope we can get the rest of the run through December 1982.
  6. I know. It totally destroyed Bill Bell's history of the show by taking the character of Jill out of her true family (The Fosters) and re-write history for the sake of a silly plot that went nowhere.
  7. Someone else is uploading The Doctors:
  8. The way they wrote Bert Bauer and Nancy Hughes deaths reminds me of the awful mess they made out of Liz Foster and Katherine Chancellor's deaths on Y&R.
  9. 1978 promo for the premiere of Dallas. It's pretty good, but the thing about "exposing the secrets that they had hoped to hide forever" was kind of odd. Little did CBS know that the 5 episodes that aired as a mid season replacement would turn into the blockbuster it would become by 1980. I have still yet to see a 1979 promo for the debut of Knots Landing.
  10. Yes, that's true. She could have been an interesting character with a good actress and writing. She could have had shades of her complicated father.
  11. After seeing the 1974 GL promo featuring a quick shot of Ken Norris........I wonder why the show never brought on Ken's daughter he had with Janet Mason ?
  12. Brett Butler............................................................Fran Myers
  13. I love that promo even though the horn is annoying. I wonder why they just listed those 3 soaps as a triple feature and excluded Y&R and Search For Tomorrow ? The only 70's Y&R promos I have seen are: The 1973 debut with the voice over during the opening credits talking about an exciting new soap by William J. Bell the head writer for Days Of Our Lives and the 1979 promo of Nikki killing her father and Casey comforting her. Is it just me, or does GL Peggy Fletcher look like Brett Butler of Grace Under Fire fame ?
  14. Dixie Carter is also appearing on the latest episodes.
  15. Thanks for the info. I thought it sounded like Jada Rowland , but was wrong. I have been watching her on the Doctors reruns on youtube. I always remember David Akyroyd as Gary Ewing # 1 on Dallas in 1978 before Ted Shackelford took over in 1979.
  16. Thanks for the 1973 episode. I know who is playing Amy and Val, but who are the other actors playing the other characters in this episode ? Too bad Belle did not appear in the episode. I love Marla Adams. I saw the 1968 CBS soaps promo clip with her, but would love to see some footage of the Amy/Belle feud.
  17. I think the song "If" by the group Bread was used on Y&R as Brad and Leslie's love song. Bless The Beast and Children by The Carpenters was also used over the years.
  18. I remember seeing that clip of Katherine stabbing Suzanne and at the end there was a quick bit of Casey and Snapper coming in to exam her. LOL at John Conboy. He also used Donna Mills as a "date" for decades.
  19. Adam-12 (season 7)( 1974-1975) Family Ties (season 2) (1983-1984) Sale Of The Century (1983 episodes uploaded by a former contestant winner on youtube)
  20. I think the opening is a bit of a copycat of 70's Y&R.
  21. I remember some posters commenting on a long gone message board that the Dallas books differed a bit from what took place on the series. Someone said it was implied that J.R was Lucy's father since he attacked Valene at one point. I'm not sure since I have never read the books. A lot of those old book series from years ago had multiple writers using pseudonyms. That woman who created that Sweet Valley High series that girls went nuts over back in the 80's was written by various ghost writers and she got all the credit.
  22. Lynn and Janice have a similar look. A lot of people have commented that Janice was wasted on AW and OLTL, so maybe she might have been a better fit on Search. I think Patti and Tom Hughes on ATWT had be the most recast roles of children of legacy characters.
