  1. Damn I feel bad. I just thought the dress was super unflattering on her. Not that she was pregnant or it was her fault. So awkward to tag the actress. Even on the street you never comment on a strangers pregnancy or ask unless they are visible 6 month plus pregnant-or at least you shouldn't. Oh well, at least she only wore it one episode so it's gone now.
  2. I liked today's show minus Susan. It would be much better use of the DH's guarantees to be at the party with Johnny, but I didn't mind John/Abe scenes. Marlena/Susan were pointless until the end. Anyhow, I like JoDevil I just wish I was more invested in Johnny/Chanel. I like them, but they were so rushed I don't quite feel the angst. It's nothing against the actors-it may have helped if we saw some scenes with them in Italy or something. Also, that dress was really unflattering on RB today and she usually looks so cute. And I do have to say the acting was less than stellar for the entire Price clan
  3. I honestly don't know how any character tolerates Susan (except EJ). I can't believe she hung around as long as she did past the Secret Room fall out and I can't believe anyone takes her seriously these days. Unless the show decides to just specifically use her with EJ-I would get rid of her. I don't need a whole hour of Marlena and Susan talking especially when I can't even buy these two are "friends". Marlena looks like she'd rather be anywhere else in the world in scenes with Susan. I know she has some point in this story, but she wears on me like no one except Duke the bear did.
  4. I rag on Days a lot for the most part, but it looks like they are at least trying to entertain. The execution is often lacking, but there are ideas there. some of them are good too lol
  5. What about trying either Nicole or Ava with Jake? It leaves Gabi in a weird spot, but the show hasn't really tried BB with anyone but CB. Nicole needs a story without a man tbh. She's been through quite a few this year.
  6. So true. I was watching some clip on twitter where John takes out his own brain chip then removes Hope/Gina's and I was like WTF? And that was not even near the top 5 ridiculous things that were happening on the show at that time.
  7. I feel like Kirsten was considered a bit of a 'get' back then because of her Disney channel fame. I swear if I didn't read about it in SOD I would have been shocked when it happened. And the "Oh my you've grown!" when they returned from their honeymoon. Ewww.... I thought it was more of a disagreement over how much the teens were used, not so much their introduction. I think they had very different ideas of what they wanted. I mean the Last Blast Crew must have been more popular than I thought if there was a Saturday Morning Spinoff being bandied about. The Virtual Garden of Eden stuff with Greta/Austin. I would try to explain it, but I can't.
  8. It was very jarring with Belle because as a child she was so central to plots. At least with Sami/Eric they gradually phased them out, sent them away, and came back with AS. The little girls that played Belle were so young and at the wedding then it was KS's Belle to greet them back from their honeymoon. And it's not like John/Marlena didn't have a whole huge story going on themselves at the time. They seriously didn't need Belle being a teen. At the end of the day, the show just shot themselves in the foot with that because Belle/Shawn should clearly be leading the show not some bit players. But again, I would have predicted Carrie leading the show for years and they didn't real screw her aging or stories up that bad. That's more of a CC than the show though.
  9. Agree. I mean I could figure out what they were going for even though I missed seeing Sonny actually say it on the show, so that means it's at least decent. And it doesn't make sense in relation to Jasons, but it never made sense it was like 10 times bigger but next door either. I always assumed Tiffany and Sean put A LOT of work into it before they sold it to Sonny and Catherine Bell just didn't before Jason bought his lol. I guess this is one way to get press? What a strange story beat to bring up now. Especially with 0 Luke offspring on screen these days.
  10. What more could you ask for then 3 times the Marlena and 3 times the Roman? Sam can have Wayne's Roman. Marlena can keep John. Hattie and Chris K. could be happy off screen for the rest of their lives.
  11. OMG! Could you imagine DH playing Sam, Hattie, Marlena and Mardevil on occasion? I am sure that would work out well. Although it is odd they didn't make more use of Deidre Hall having a real life twin and established twin on the show for years and years and killed her off so early on.
  12. Realistically Shawn was born like 5 years before Belle. They honestly could have aged Belle to a Carrie- esque pre teen when they aged Shawn and just waited a couple of years. Honestly, Shawn could have dated Jan in high school and it would make her CRAZY more relatable now. Hell, even Mimi-he married her anyway. I think it would have slowed down the progression of their stories as well and that would have helped the characters longevity as well. I always thought that would have worked with Ethan/Kristina on GH as well, but that's a whole other topic and LA still looks 12 so..
  13. I don't think Sami would ever be recast, nor do I want her to be, but I think the show could. It probably wouldn't be popular, but it might work if they got a big enough name. Soaps have recast bigger roles before. The only people that really couldn't be recast on Days would be Doug, Julie, Marlena, and Maggie. I'd say John, but RC would probably just slip Wayne in to play him and think it was clever.
  14. Lol! That truly cracked me up. So true. Ugh. Belle is the one kid that shouldn't have been aged in 1999. I get why the show did it especially considering the age of the actors playing the parents, but to this day they bring up actual events that happened and the 2 actresses look the same age. Actually I think MM/AS are the same age. Shawn was born earlier and was aged fairly minorly and Phillip's conception was memorable, but nothing that would screw up timelines with aging. Stephanie or Jeannie/Sarah/Noel could have been aged instead. Even Rex/Cassie would have been more age appropriate at the time. They honestly should have held off and aged Belle/Brady with Will/Abby or rolled out the aging a little slower like Shawn first, Belle a few years later, Will/Abby after that etc. I know that would mean Shawn/Belle couldn't be star crossed lovers, but really what has that relationship truly added to Days besides glimpses of BB's abs? They genuinely could have done a slow burn to Belle/Shawn like Robin/Jason on GH if they wanted to. Like Belle always had a crush on Shawn when she was young and she finally grew up and it wasn't creepy anymore sort of thing if they had to.
  15. Belle might be the most boring child of a supercouple on Days ever. There have been others who have given her a run for her money at times, but Belle is consistently dull. Even if we are told she cheats and is kind of slutty..she does not project that. Carrie is just the original prototype and Belle is a dull copy. I don't mind Belle/MM on my screen anymore because I have accepted the mediocrity, but I would trade Belle, Eric, and Brady for Carrie any day of the week
  16. Yeah, the seeds were planted when CC was fired/left to begin with. She was struggling as a teen with RoJohn and went to live with Anna. I assume that's why they recast but TM was a bomb as Carrie and pulled off pouty and bratty only. CC came back and couldn't pull off evil especially with the audience's investment in her as an actress. Sami was a blank slate of character so it was easier to pull off. It's pretty risky to make a legacy child a villian like that, but it worked. Honestly, I don't think Days has done it since.
  17. Even with Sami's initial entrance with her breaking into the house and dropping out of school Roman was A-okay with it and Marlena wasn't but that was more Roman is driving Marlena away to John plot than anything else I guess. Kristen/John/Marlena were odd because he was still into Marlena but also hardcore into Kristen and people like Alice were pushing Kristen/John. I think it was writers just being uncertain of where they were headed.
  18. Yeah, I mean that's probably 100% likely. Plus her upbringing made her overly sensitive to her family being torn apart due to all the instability. There are motivations. But her constantly blaming Carrie, John, Marlena, everyone for her poor choices forever was obnoxious. And Sami holding Roman to such a high standard/pedestal when he all but abandoned her (after the affair) was hard to explain away. From what we literally saw on screen, Roman would let Sami get away with a lot of things and actually wasn't that awesome of a parent. It might just me my take, but Sami was great at 'woe is me' none of this wouldn't happened if Carrie/John/Marlena weren't evil, but she's delusional. I liked Sami as a villian and it was a contrast to how you think Roman/Marlena's daughter would end up. If anyone would be bad you would think it would be Carrie with her being Anna's daughter and being an older, more aware child of the Roman/RoJohn/Marlena trauma. I guess I was personally annoyed that John/Marlena got hatred from Sami for years, but Roman got a free pass for leaving and being incommunicado for years.
  19. I have no problem with loyalty. It's just we never saw anything with Sami/Roman to indicate they were that close. The timeline got weird with her aging so all our memories of Sami were of her being raised by John-so as a fan I felt no closeness between WN's Roman and Sami.. I have no problem with Sami siding with Roman at all, but her OTT rage, bitterness, and anger for years was silly. Her disdain of John was unrealistic. Him and Marlena made a mistake(s), but 99% of the time he was supportive and loving to Sami even when she was awful. Anyway, I always thought it was such a weird concept Sami/Eric were so hellbent on their parents being together as an adult. I am not sure how that would effect their lives that much in 1997.
  20. That would make it interesting at least. I generally don't get distracted by him but yesterday I was like calm down other people are talking in this scene lol!! The Devil make Johnny/Marlena/Doug do evil things but the devil makes John do obnoxious gestures in the background lol.
  21. I am still not sold on Dan, but everyone else is great. I thought there were strong clues in the beginning that Johnny was very fascinated with his DiMera part of the family enough to potentially lead him to the dark side, so it makes sense. I would love to know what Johnny does/doesn't know about Stefano. Do you think Sami ever at some point was like, hey, one time your grandpa Stefano made me think my mom and dad were dead for years and led me and the entire town to believe John was my real father, Good Times! There was also a giant birdcage and a decades long obsession with your grandma on my side of the family. The only reason your dad exists is because Nonno Stefano pretended to be Elvis in an elaborate scheme to fool Grandpa John so your Aunt Kristen could pretend to have a baby. I really wonder about Johnny/Allie's upbringing off screen because neither seem terribly close to Sami.
  22. I loathed Peyton/Lucas. I was so disappointed the show didn't end with Brucas. I loved and adored them. But....Peyton/Lucas ending together does follow the trajectory of what the show was setting up in the beginning. I think they were the endgame couple even if Brooke/Lucas was a way better pairing. Had Sophia/Chad not broken up, I am sure we would have gotten Brucas again, but as far as the show actually deviating wildly from its origin stories, Peyton/Lucas did make sense. And they were fairly popular. I always thought Peyton Sawyer was a lame, whiny, drip of a character though. I mean the show didn't really exist or make sense past season 4, but the show was clearly setting Peyton/Lucas up from episode 1, perhaps with Lucas ending up with Hayley if she didn't take off with Nathan.
  23. The show really lost me when Brandon and Kelly just decided not to get married after all that build up. It made no sense. Like disregard the last 5 years of our longing and love-we just aren't going to go through with it lol. It was so odd because they went so back and forth with Kelly and Dylan in season 9/10. They'd hook up then she'd go back to Matt (is that DC's characters name-I forget lol). Then Dylan and Vanessa Marcil would be together but then Gina would be with David and then in the very final episode Kelly/Dylan get back together lol. It was so bad and barely watchable. Half the reason I did is just because Vanessa Marcil looked really pretty on the show. Didn't Luke Perry admit he came back to the show for a paycheck? I don't fault him but........you could tell he didn't give a f$%k. Honestly at that point you could tell most of the cast was just so over it. Except Ian Ziering. He seemed to really enjoy his gig.
  24. I think Patrick is still in jail. I want to say he's been at least mentioned. No idea about the other kid. Barely remember him. It would be nice for Belle to have a friend or a person to talk to that she's not related to. It would be a change for Phillip to return and re-evaluate his life and look for Pocket with Mimi. I could get behind it. I actually thought Johnny was intrigued by his Dimera upbringing before. Not the business, but he seems to have a high opinion of Stefano even though he spent years torturing his grandparents and was obsessed with his Grandmother. He yaps on and on that his grandfather called him Giovanni and not the fact he was named after John. Johnny probably didn't get to that part yet in the Sami brady script lol. I am on the fence with the marriage. On one hand I really like Johnny/Chanel, but on the other I fear they might burn through too much story too quickly ala Belle/Shawn/Mimi/Phillip by getting married too young.
  25. Brenda and Dylan 100% on 90210. And Kelly and Brandon honestly. I think Brandon just ended up married to a random women? lol.
