  1. Having Macy killed off...twice...is one of the worst decisions the show ever made. She was always one of my faves, too.
  2. That plot twist totally threw me at the time. I thought Brooke had MUCH more chemistry with Thorne than Ridge. It was also the one time Thorne had a chance to shine as a character. her relationship with him was so different than the one she had with Ridge, too. But, yep, within an episode their marriage ended, and she was lusting after Ridge for the millionth time!
  3. OMG...their fights were epic. I never really bought them as friends in the end.
  4. Wow...>I bet she regrets that decision. How could she not? Stephanie was a front burner role until SF left of her own accord.
  5. Was that what those scenes were about then. I thought they felt so odd with Joanna telling John he should have plastic surgery. It felt random...and kinda insulting on her part. Joanna never really seemed to take off as a character. I wonder if it's true that Bell had written the part of Stephanie on B&B with her in mind. Maybe that's why he never really invested in Joanna if he had SSH in mind for that role.
  6. What was so disappointing with Maya's story was they brought KM back after her maternity leave only to announce that she divorced from Rick...and then she disappeared. It was kind of a slap in the face to fans that supported that story. They should have just had her go back to Paris to be with Rick.
  7. The show seemed to struggle with direction in the end. The pace became extremely fast...so even if you liked a storyline, sometimes it would wrap up in 6 weeks! And, I remember there was one point where it felt like every single storyline had to do with wanting a baby or having a baby. Not to mention the non-use of characters like Lisa and Nancy who could have added so much with just semi-regular appearances.
  8. I wasn't the biggest Pam Long fan, either. I did think she utilized the Lockridges much better than the writers before her. She also expanded Minx's role on the canvas. A reunion would be amazing! I would love to see one just with the Dobsons. The show won so many awards in its short time, but it also had a ton of backstage drama that would be wonderful to dish.
  9. Cricket, later called Christine to make the character feel more mature I suppose, truly ate up the show for a good number of years then. All roads led back to Cricket... I do miss Tricia Cast and wish she had been able to stay with the show all these years. Nina was a fascinating character.
  10. It's very evident is watching these "classic episodes" that the budgets are a fraction of what they used to be even in the 1990s. Still, the production values of Y&R and B&B are so much better than DAYS. it got to the point that I found it distracting...like that "blue room" that was redressed over and over to be everything.
  11. I'm still super pissed they killed off Colleen. The character needed a recast, but it was still filled with so much possibility. And, it's just so sad they killed off Tracey's one child.
  12. Does anyone know why the recast happened so fast? CN certainly wasn't the best actor, but he was definite eye candy. JT was a much better actor.
  13. I think she did, but that story point was quickly dropped. I don't know if I'm in the minority, but I always found the Lockridges more interesting than the Capwells. I'm not sure why TPTB seemed to have trouble writing for them. I thought Carrignton Garland was actually the best Kelly and would have been the perfect replacement as the lead heroine after MW left the show. If the show really wanted Eileen Davidson they should have just given her a new character.
  14. I wonder how much Ava not moving to The City had to do with budgetary reasons. She did seem like she'd be a natural fit in the new show.
  15. Even though it would never happen, if a network tried to launch a new soap, a half-hour would be a better idea.
  16. Agnes Nixon also, rarely if ever, discussed or talked about LOVING in the same way she did with AMC and OLTL. It was like the little forgotten step-child. Going up against Y&R when it exploded in popularity couldn't have been easy. Still, the fact that the show lasted as long as it did, it can't be thought of as a failure. Rarely does any TV show air for that many years.
  17. Yep, that was so shortsighted. What makes soaps special is that they're multigenerational.
  18. All those characters returning would have been so great and brought things full circle. I'm guessing budget was so tight that last year. I guess we're lucky we had the show as long as we did...14 seasons is an amazing run! And, it outlasted all the other traditional primetime soaps.
  19. Gary was waaaaaaay better than that oceanographer for Kate. Besides Kate and Paige, the younger generation was mostly gone which I felt hampered the storytelling since it wasn't multi-generational. I always thought writing out Michael and Olivia was short-sighted, but I guess it was probably done for budget, too. One of my highlights those last few seasons were those Anne and Claudia scenes where they pretended to like each other but couldn't stand the other. The voiceovers were hilarious as they revealed their true feelings.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfXOHnTk8UE
  20. Imagine the conflict is Diana had been the one to fall in lover with older man Gary (versus Kate) in season 14! That would have created conflict with so many different characters on different levels.
  21. Season 14 sort of got the show back on track I thought, but they were limited by the number of times they could use the leads. I think I read that Michele Lee agreed to work for scale so she could be in every episode of the series at the end.
  22. In the late 80's, they sort of made an attempt to bring back the Matthews family when it was revealed that Josie was Russ' daughter. They brought Russ back (for a short time) and Liz. Olivia was also introduced and stuck around for a time. Josie's last name was even changed to Matthews, but when the character came back mid-90's her last name was back to Watts.
  23. I so wish this show would end up on a streaming service. Even Falcon Crest seasons 1 to 4 are on Netflix.
  24. Did we ever find out what happened to Cruz's sister, Carmen? Or did she just disappear...sort of like CC's lost son, Greg. There one day...never seen or spoken about again.
  25. Sophia's timeline was also confusing. I always got the impression Sophia was more of a B-movie actress. That would explain why she wasn't so easily recognized in my opinion. It makes sense that Mason was at least 6 to 8 years older than Eden. I'm not sure we ever got clarification on how long CC was married to Pamela. Ugh, Pamela...a character that was sooo mishandled. She should have been the show's Alexis Colby IMO.
