  1. I remember Grace talking about that cake all the time! My favorite Grace line of all time though was, "I haven't had a thing to wear since the house got sucked into hell."
  2. Grace returns to town...only now she's especially a bit...off...and she becomes Harmony's most infamous serial killer...all starting with poisoning her tomato soup cake!
  3. I wonder what was the closest SB ever got to AW....Someone posted earlier what would have happened to Santa Barbara's ratings if it had been switched in timeslots with Another World.
  4. How wild! If I wasn't scared to go to Russia right now, I might would visit!
  5. I remember when this happened. It definitely seemed like Patty was back on her way to town. When Patty finally did return with SH portraying the role, I thought initially she was one of the most interesting characters added to the canvas in a long time. But, the writers took her too far and wrote the character in a corner. She could've just stayed slightly off kilter and had long-term possibility.
  6. Brick was definitely a wasted character...he should have stayed throughout the duration being part-Lockridge, part-Capwell (sort of)... It's amazing thinking of all these different families that came and went when the show was only on 8 1/2 years! Sometimes characters, except the Capwells, came and went in a blink of an eye.
  7. Besides the Capwells (and to a lesser extent) the Lockridges, SB was never able to establish another family that really clicked. There were sooo many attempts to start a new core family. Just off the top of my head, I remember... Cruz's extended family Gina's extended family The Donnleys The DiNapoli sisters The Richards The four "orphan boys and Cassie"- an attempt at a "different kind of family" The Walkers (at the end) The DeAngelis family (at the end) Not to mention the Perkins and Andrade families which started the show but were soon gone. Out of all these unsuccessful attempts, which family group do you think had the most potential if maybe handled better?
  8. Gina and Brandon's relationship was one of the best developed...and sweet ones...on the show. Gina was the type of character that needed a Brandon to show her softer side.
  9. CG was my favorite Kelly, too. It was jarring when she was replaced since she seemed to fit the role so well.
  10. Good point!
  11. That would have been interesting to have EW back in both roles, and as you said, at that point in the game, what did the show have to lose?
  12. Not to mention how JB refused to play both roles so we got that horrible Marley now played by EW after a fire...so bad. Not to mention that EW was like a foot taller than JB...did she grow while she was in the coma, too?
  13. It would be interesting to know just how many people turned in to the daytime premiere the very next day.
  14. And then why would Mac make it so difficult and not just tell people he had another daughter? I know, I know. They were scrambling trying to come up with story after DW death, so they get a pass on this one IMO.
  15. And on Loving there was Kate/Ava...there was definite parallels to all three...the long suffering single mother and the scheming social climbing daughter.
  16. I wonder how the TV movie pilot did in the ratings...
  17. And it seemed that SFT's ratings on NBC did pick up a bit for a year or so showing some promise, but it just didn't pan out eventually. Poor Ryan's Hope...they were thrown under the bus for sure.
  18. For those of you that remember the Dobson's brief return, what did you think of the stories they developed? I felt they started off pretty strong and reset a lot of stuff (Mason for example, Santana's return), but the stories didn't have the magic of the earlier ones for some reason. Still, there work is 100X better than what we're getting today on the last 4.
  19. I agree...both actors were so different. Travis came off as very flat to me. Eric's version is what I think of when I think of "Ethan."
  20. The last actor to play Nick, Mark Mortimer...I thought he was so dreamy at the time. Did anyone ever figure out what the hell the red swan was? I can't remember. I just remember people looking at it and talking about it. I feel for the writers though. His death was nothing they could prepare for and his character had become the heart of the show, the dad everyone wants. I did end up liking Rachel with Carl after a bit. It was just a tad of stretch these two would end up together, but the chemistry between the actors is what made it work. You could tell they really enjoyed working together. Now, when a mid-50s Rachel became pregnant with TWINS while she had a TUMOR growing in her womb AND she takes a fall on an island and has to have a C-SECTION with no anesthesia on top of a coffee table during a HURRICANE...it just felt like the writers were drunk or high or both..."Let's make this even CRAZIER by..."
  21. I always felt like Santana should have been a consistent character on the show...the show's Latina heroine...but they never quite found the actress I think. Anne Heche grew into an AMAZING actress. She did a great job with both Vicky and Marley, more so than the other actresses IMO. She truly played two very distinct characters.
  22. Does anyone know what was the highest rating Loving ever achieved? I was sort of disappointed when I read Agnes Nixon's autobiography. She talks loads about AMC and OLTL but not one word about Loving. It would have been interesting to get her take on why that show never took off like her other creations and the behind the scenes that may have played a part. Of all the shows that could be rebooted, I think EON would be an interesting candidate because of the nature of the show's stories...a dark, moody drama
  23. The "new Kristal" did not take off at all last season. There was no spark to the character at all. I'm not sure what a recast will do. I felt the first season was tightly written with great twists and turns while Season 2 was just all over the place...as if the show didn't know what it wanted to be.
  24. While I think all the actors brought their A game to the story, I agree that I didn't like seeing Felicia in "the other woman" role. She was too big of a personality for that. And, then they put John and Felicia together for a millisecond before breaking them up.
  25. Wow....think they were playing with taboo fantasies there just a bit? I wonder what happened to both of them.
