  1. Probably a bigger crowd than Trump's inauguration too, IMO.
  2. Just a few posts above, I posted a link to a CNBC article about it. Also, ICYMI (anyone), Trump has vexed the Pentagon by mentioning the two submarines that the U.S. has at its disposal while on the phone with Filipino president Duterte, while discussing North Korea. Someone from the Pentagon complained that Trump's loose lips will likely ruin the element of surprise in tactics.
  3. Close up on those hands. Can you guess which one is Trump's?
  4. Greg Gianforte, like so many others in the GOP, has investment ties to Russian state-owned companies, that also happened to fall under U.S. sanctions. GOP candidate Greg Gianforte has financial ties to US-sanctioned Russian companies At least the Billings Gazette rescinded their endorsement and admitted that they made a mistake. Gazette opinion: We're pulling our endorsement of Greg Gianforte The art of the handshake...and Trump's inability to master it.
  5. Now this is the 2nd country in the past few days that is forced to change its intelligence-sharing policies with the U.S. because the U.S. no longer has any sense of discretion! Soon the U.S. really will have to resort to a 'go it alone' doctrine. God help us all.
  6. Yes, I also hope attention will be paid for this as the consequences of not doing so could be dire for the DNC. And this is what I guessed would happen months ago.
  7. The International Tennis Hall of Fame is tightening up its eligibility requirements. International Tennis Hall of Fame to Amend Induction Policies in 2018
  8. The Filipino goverment made the transcript of the phone call public, from what I understand.
  9. The Working Families Party has become a force to be reckoned with in the Northeast over the past decade, so I can see this happening, even in L.I. Trump continues his gaffes and moments to flop oversees, I see. Speaking of flops, I have also been reading about the fallout from the Trump budget (that Trump promptly escaped from by being oversees) and the fact that no one actually likes this turkey. Most Congressional GOP members' responses have ranged from the non-committal or terse and a few down-right hostile. Paul Ryan promptly said that he and Congress plan to do what they've done through other administrations, which is work on their own version. (sound familiar? Many GOP Senators said something similar about the atrocious AHCA bill that the House passed after many admitted it was DOA in the Senate). One of the most common complaints is that the budget plan simply makes no sense- it seems to be cost neutral to the point of functioning as a place marker but assumes that all this growth will occur over a multi-year time span. In other words, it declares growth in various areas but doesn't identify what the costs will pay, how some of these things will be 'paid for'. This budget plan not making it through seems as if it will also affect the tax plan, which also seems to be a 'No-Go' .Tax cuts for the rich by adding taxes to imports seems unsustainable as the costs will most likely be passed onto the consumer, the brunt of which will be paid by the people who can least afford these extra costs. The only support this has is from companies that do a whole lot of exporting- and for them, it is built solely on a hope that their income taxes might be reduced as a result. This is not even a definite, it is a hope! Kind of like how many of the Trump voters hoped he would be competent with fiscal policy. Guess what folks? He really doesn't have one! What little he has, is mostly bad.
  10. To remove Hannity, it's probably going to boil down to money as it did in the case of O'Reilly. People boycotting companies that advertise on Hannity's show. I was kidding about growing a conscience since I know very well that no one at that company has one. Meanwhile, before Trump met with the Pope, apparently someone told Bannon "You don't gotta go home but you gotta get the hell outta here!" Or something of that nature.
  11. I'm not sure how many would've foresaw anyone not in the group of usual suspects winning anything of big importance this year. Nick was having wins over big players this year, but he also got cited for quite a few issues this year. His year has been unpredictable, so I don't know how anyone could assume anything right now, lol.
  12. I guess folks have Nick fever today. Simon Cambers posted out an article on the ESPN website that I just read. Nick Kyrgios' tactics taking him to the next level
  13. Either someone at FXNC grew a conscience or they realized they couldn't risk more derision from the public.
  14. In case he didn't get the message with the hand swat in Israel.
  15. Who is Thomas Paire? Is he Benoit's brother? They won their doubles match today, apparently.
  16. The costs to a tennis player will ensure that many of the hungriest (and perhaps some of the most promising) athletes will go to more accessible sports. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why except for a few players, American men have been languishing in the rankings for pretty much a generation. Lord.
  17. Dems demand answers on report that admin tried to trade ObamaCare payments These is seen (with good reason) as an underhanded tactic to gut the ACA. HHS denies that this has taken place. With so many lies uttered by Trump, are those in his administration any less deceptive? Can they be believed? I'm skeptical of their protestations to this accusation. Also, the Kushners are slumlords apparently. Anyone surprised? The Beleaguered Tenants of ‘Kushnerville’
  18. And even Clarence Thomas agreed that it was skewed toward the highly partisan (and let's face it, racist) That's when you know it must have been egregious!
  19. We knew this was bound to happen but last week Sharapova's people announce that she will play Qualifying for Wimbledon and lookie-lookie... ESPN Adds First-Ever Televised Wimbledon Qualifying
  20. I only got a chance to watch the pilot as well which moved a bit slowly, at times. Most pilot episodes tend to be somewhat clunky, IMO. CBS is so conservative that they save their more risqué shows for online. I'm not even talking about HBO-type risqué, I'm talking about Scandal or ABC Thursday night lineup is what counts as risqué for CBS these days.
  21. Looking at Agim's Twitter feed, led me to Scott Bryce's feed. Bryce mentioned that Steamboat's international distribution rights expired. I only heard about this soap parody as it was being yanked off You Tube (I guess I know why now) but the two webisodes I saw seemed pretty funny. Maybe I'll try to watch the rest. Is anyone watching the The Good Fight? When reading about the series some time ago, I noticed that Bryce seems to be a recurring character on it. I heard it's good but I don't subscribe to CBS All Access.
  22. Meanwhile ICYMI, 'Angry' Netanyahu orders ministers to attend Trump reception
