As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I doubt Larry Brygmann would've gone for the idea of switching babies after John Dixon became such an established character. Seems like "John" as well as Larry was well liked by every writing regime up until the very late 90s and would've done all they could to keep him at that point. By the mid 80s, Larry seemed uninterested in taking John Dixon back to the days of being a bad guy. And I think I was the first person on this board to suggest that Block should've played Rick Ryan. Craig may have been angsty but Bryce was definitely a superior actor to Block. If you look at their resumes and see how much work each actor gets over the years, even today, the proof is in the pudding.

Hoooo, that Thiem backhand was an axe today and it chopped down Rafa's hopes in this tournament! The NextGen young men are having a good run at this tournament and Thiem and Zverev seem to be showing the way this week!

I haven't really really being following Cilic's results in quite sometime so I can't guess anything about his form, except that maybe he's been doing enough to maintain his ranking somehow. As for that Sascha vs Isner match up? Hmm, that could be an interesting match. Sascha is definitely on the rise and he won't be intimidated by Isner or his height, that's for sure.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Has anyone seen The Quad (BET), a show centered on a HBCU, that stars Anika Noni Rose? Apparently, Redaric Williams (Tyler Michaelson, Y&R) is featured on the series. Also, blink and you miss her but Kelley Missal (Danielle Manning, OLTL)appears in the trailer for the upcoming ABC series The Crossing somewhere around 1:07 and then 2:03. https://youtu.be/9LMkHLt1rx8

Speaking of un-diverse and inept administrations, the recently installed president of Brazil, Michel Temer, reminds me of Trump because under Temer, all the Blacks and women who had been in Dilma Roussef's administration were gone after she was removed from office, only to be replaced by only White guys. Even the presidential office for Women's affairs has not one woman there. But there may be many more similarities between Trump and Temer and this one, in particular, is one I hope for: Leaked recordings are trouble for Michel Temer With the mess going on in this country, people not realize that in Brazil, people were in the streets today calling for Temer to be removed from office. How ironic, given that Temer was very vocal in calling for Rousseff's ouster.

Stan hasn't done sh*t all season, TBH, so it's not like Isner beat Stan at his best. It seemed as if Stan didn't even want to move his feet. Still, Stan likes to show up for the majors so this tells me nothing about his form for the French.

He is truly ridiculous. Speaking of things worthy of ridicule, why is this just being publicized now? Not that it would've made one iota of difference with such a large group of uninformed voters ("....but but, her e-mails...?) ticking the ballots. Well, it's still Time magazine, LOL. In any case it's just breath-taking that an American president would be in the center of such an act. Not even Nixon would do such a thing!

Why is Joe Lieberman's name showing up for any conversation these days? Now, it's in connection with the FBI director position. Just depressing, really.

Lee Bryant (Lyla #3) was temporary. This was not the first time the actress filled in for Anne Sward but I believe, that it was the last, as Anne Sward would return to the role to portray Lyla Montgomery Peretti for a few more years before the character leaves Oakdale and the Lee Bryant herself would return a few years later as a completely different character, Mrs. Kasnoff (I think), the mother of Mark and Mike Kasnoff. Speaking of when Lyla becomes a Peretti, those future episodes in 1987 (and thereafter) feature Anne Sward in the wedding episodes, playing opposite Bill Shanks (Casey Peretti).

Also, I think Netanyahu glommed onto Trump, not only as an extremist but to try to spite Obama who had the audacity not to bend to Bibi's will. Still, I am curious as to what Netanyahu thinks of this entire debacle and whether he regrets making such a demonstrative public show of falling all over Trump the way he did. So this was released by House Democrats on the Oversight and Judiciary Committees.
