  1. I did see Elmo and Lord Buckethead patiently waiting for their vote totals on the livestream. There was also a party called the Animal Welfare party (as I understand they may have been endorsed by Piers Morgan...eww!). Certainly a motley crew! Early headlines in Britain.
  2. Depends on who you talk to. Xenophobes will be sad that UKIP is hemorraghing but people who voted to Remain in the EU may be elated. A lot of younger people participated and that seems to have helped Labour. I can't say that May will lose, if her party ends up the largest party in Parliament, she may keep her seat but Labour's gains likely mean that she will be severely weakend. Also, I don't know what people know of the Liberal Democrats, a small bloc but Nick Clegg, who was the head of the LDs lost his seat today. I had almost totally forgotten about him but he and the LDs were supposed to be part of the coalition government with the Conservatives, who were then headed by David Cameron. Well, since Cameron lost his job, come to think of it, it follows logic that Clegg would lose his since their coalition yielded quite a few debacles. I'm sure Clegg's favorite Liberal Democrats didn't appreciate that whole austerity period. Theresa May was elected for Parliament seat for Maidenhead, retaining the hold for the Conservative party.
  3. Trump's favorite party in the United Kingdom, UKIP (UK Independence Party) looks as if they are about to be shut out of Parliament. Jeremy Corbyn of the Labour party is performing better than many British projections/prognostications (although many Brits that I know always believed that he had a very good chance), while Theresa May is faring worse. Earlier in the evening many analysts expected the Conservatives to be the largest party yet stipulated that the Conservatives would likely not have enough for a majority. Terms like "Hung Parliament" have been all the talk throughout the evening. It will likely be a few more hours yet before the full picture comes into focus.
  4. Add Dodd-Frank to the list of rules/laws that the GOP is trying to gut on the sly. Trump's lawyer is every bit of a charlatan as the Charlatan-in-Chief, right down to the spelling errors.
  5. Seriously? If I had voted for this man, I'd be damned embarrassed. SMH.
  6. Donald Young and his Mexican doubles partner Santiago Gonzalez have beaten Nenad Zimonjic/Fernando Gonzalez to advance to the Roland Garros Men's Doubles Finals!!! This is the only Donald, in public life, that I want to hear about right now!
  7. Constant slow-moving train-wrecks but I just keep reading about them. They're on Obamacare, they voted for Trump, and they're already disappointed If Congress follows Trump's lead, many of them will be out on their asses in '18, because look at those (dis) approval ratings. I don't know if anyone has read this article, or if it has been posted but it articulates what many know. Donald Trump’s presidency is an American crisis
  8. I don't trust Halep, for more reasons than one. And I suspect she may have been hanging around Nastase for too long. She needs to do better than this.
  9. For anyone who was still wondering whether Sloane and Jack were still together...
  10. Highlights from the match I missed this morning. Boris is already throwing shade at AA.
  11. They've stuffed all that Christian doctrine in order to go for the Cash Grab! When I heard that Jim Bakker had climbed out of his dark hole to say something supportive of Trump, I knew that Mango Mussolini had brought all the greedy sleazeballs out from under their rocks.
  12. Speaking of "Real" and Fake allies- Folks are running attack ads on Comey? WTF!
  13. Wow, I missed the match completely but THIEM!!! Show them other guys the way, man! As, for the Women, I have to be real and sound like a bitter *itch, Venus is gone, Kiki's out...I don't think Caro Garcia is going to win (although that would kind of be nice), even Wozniacki stealing a first (and likely only) major might have made a nice story but with the women left, I don't really give much of a s*hit.
  14. Filed under images that make you smile.
  15. Top intelligence official told associates Trump asked him if he could intervene with Comey on FBI Russia probe
  16. Speaking of the U.S.-Qatari alliance, it appears to have been dissolved?
  17. What the Trump administration's visit to Saudi Arabia has managed to do is embolden the Saudis in a long simmering rivalry with Qatar. Trump's visit became a catalyst to Saudi Arabia's machinations to isolate Qatar over their connections with Iran. Some other countries have joined Saudi Arabia in their efforts while other Arab nations have decided to not take sides. It actually has the potential to become a huge mess! This may come back to haunt the U.S. as there are U.S. military bases in Qatar, which is part of the coalition-led air campaign against the Islamic State. We'll see how this turns out when some military jets are sanctioned against landing/refueling at Qatari's airbases-- how that works out for the campaign offensive. By the way, JMO, but I think that Tillerson has been borderline useless as SOS.
  18. Technically, Reality Winner is not being charged with espionage, she is being charged with leaking classified NSA documents. There are different criteria for espionage. An article on the shameful way the Trump administration is rolling back workers' safety protections in favor of big business. Some recent gains under the Obama administration, such as standards to protect workers against hazardous and toxic chemicals such as beryllium and silica (which lead to various lung diseases) are being rolled back. Also the budget for the Chemical Safety Board is being decimated to the point of practical elimination. Under Trump, Worker Protections Are Viewed With New Skepticism
  19. I remember "The Hand" incident. Henin was not above playing dirty to get what she wanted and that was the most vivid example. The crowd shook Serena so badly for questioning the call and Henin's lack of disclosure that she never recovered in the match. Some people cite this as the incident that made them dislike Justine. Funny thing is, for me, I was always suspicious of her. Even before this incident, she had a negative aura where I was concerned. I can't explain it, it was just something about her from the get-go that I didn't care for. Yeah, that was never a good fit. TBH, Berdych was treading water for quite some time, even before he and Goran started working together but Goran definitely didn't improve Berdych's game. In today's tennis, if you're not improving, you will fall backward. Speaking of coaching, I read that Agassi is going to continue coaching Djokovic through Wimbledon. Is Agassi still not getting paid?
  20. Was there ever a character on this series that got kidnapped more than Lily?? It seems like every few years she got kidnapped.
  21. Some folks (we know who they are) seem to be getting desperate. Clearly.
