Please don't let this man run for President. The homeless population in this country will explode as it did in NYC with him as mayor.

Here's the piece of BGM again with a different scene. It was pretty popular from '86-87. via ytCropper- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Okay, quite awhile ago, I mentioned the possibility of posting clips of some of my favorite pieces of BGM from ATWT. The online editing software that you don't have to download to use leaves a lot to be desired, nevertheless, I am posting my favorite piece of BGM. This one is my favorite and probably the most memorable one because ever since I heard it as a child, I've never forgotten it. So when I heard it again a few years ago, for the first time in decades, I wasn't surprised at how I clearly I could recall it. The only surprise was that there was a longer version than the one I remembered. Again, the software is pretty limited, so apologies. via ytCropper- The Tennis Thread
TBH, a faster surface at the end of the season is kinder than a slow grinding court. Yeah, the flip side is that guys like Rafa and Thiem who do well on slower surfaces are usually at a distinct disadvantage but most of the year the hard courts tend to be slow, which is a disadvantage to anyone who prefers a faster hard court. Cilic lost to Nicolas Jarry of Argentina. I didn't see the match so I can't figure out what happened. Cilic can sometimes be perplexing. He has a big serve but it can sometimes go off and become wildly inconsistent. Also, he's subject to nerves and plain old unsteady play when you least expect it. He seemed to be like, a game away from taking the match when I checked the score--the next time I checked, he had lost, LOL.- The Politics Thread

Okay, a reminder that Haley has done more than I recalled..,and none of it good. In my defense though, who can keep up with the events of this WH?- The Politics Thread
This is the Trump administration we're talking about. I'm pretty sure another sex scandal is just around the corner.- The Politics Thread
Yeah, looks like the ethics watchdog consortium CREW requested an investigation into ethics violations just yesterday. The timing of this resignation is interesting, to say the least.- The Politics Thread
The masters of the internet universe have no intention of ever policing themselves, or even holding themselves accountable. Like I mentioned yesterday, Yahoo! was a festering cauldron of vitriolic bile towards minorities, Twitter tolerates Trump's almost daily rants, Facebook is a screed of gun selling marketplaces and hatred/intolerance and Google+ is both irrelevant and insecure. Facebook, Yahoo! and Google+ all have the distinction of having huge security breaches whose details would leave you breathless! Actually most of the internet has an amazing lack of security and is likely putting all of our our security at risk for clicks. People get doxed all the time and there's never been any effort to even curb that behavior. Death threats are thrown around daily on social media with rarely any consequences. As for Nikki Haley...I don't see why anyone should get their nose out of joint over her resignation. She made no impact during her time at the U.N. and this is just another day at the WH in terms of the revolving door of resignations that have taken place since day one of the Trump WH.- The Politics Thread
When these GOPers enrich themselves to their content, they begin to look for ways to flee the sinking ship, I guess.- The Politics Thread
This may answer that question.- The Politics Thread
So has Nikki Haley resigned?- The Tennis Thread
The Australian Open would've done better to focus on a decently humane heat policy. I'm tired of seeing players staggering around on court.- The Tennis Thread
Not that I usually pay attention to him, but what's going on with Milos Raonic this season?- Non-Hollywood Sexual Assault & Sexual Harassment

Who elects these people?- Hollywood Sexual Harrasment/Assault Thread
Maybe she didn't like the vibe of where things were going. Or maybe she didn't want to be just another Hollywood actress becoming the public face, rather than amplifying someone who has been doing the work for nearly a decade before. Again, #MeToo was never conceived of being an activist vehicle for Hollywood actresses. Judd likely knows this.- Hollywood Sexual Harrasment/Assault Thread
I definitely know that Milano is not squeaky-clean. She's simply not as messy as Argento and McGowan. Sometimes that has to be enough. I'm not even sure who gets to decide who is the public face of the #MeToo movement. Male journalists? The Hollywood Foreign Press? Who? #MeToo was never conceived to encompass just Hollywood actresses or entertainers. It is supposed to be for victims of sexual violence from all walks of life. It was conceived as an organization that is supposed to advocate on behalf of those who have been victimized and silenced and marginalized. Why does the public face even need to be an actress?- The Politics Thread
What isn't wrong with Yahoo!? is more the question. Yahoo! is/was (it's been acquired by AOL and is now officially known as OATH) a prime example of a company that abandoned its ethics and standards to protect privacy, in favor of runaway expansion. Despite numerous complaints about active trolls targeting the comments section spewing vitriolic bile that was racist, sexist, homophobic and cheered rape culture, Yahoo! only began to address these problems once they decided to try to put the platform up for sale. Also, they twice hid major security breaches as a result of hacking, only revealing the worst breach, like...two years later??! Those were some of their worst failures as a company and I'm sure there are more.- The Politics Thread
As much as I detest Yahoo! this seems fairly noteworthy.- Hollywood Sexual Harrasment/Assault Thread
Then they should've stuck with Alyssa Milano and called it a day.- Hollywood Sexual Harrasment/Assault Thread
The problems with the image of #MeToo movement is what happens when you choose actresses who have unfortunate personal and career histories, rather than a woman who had been steadily doing the work to build the movement simply because she is black and doesn't look like a cover girl.- The Tennis Thread
DelPo's U.S. Open performance was indeed disappointing. That surface was made for Nolé but still, it was a major final. It's the end of the season and pretty much everyone that has been doing decently during the season is playing crappy, if they're playing at all. As talented and sturdy as Basilashvili is as a player, he has not been playing high-level tennis all season so it makes sense that he'd have more left in the "tank" than DelPo at this point, cold or no cold. Also, if I were DelPo, at this point, I wouldn't expend to much energy until London. Do just enough to keep my game fine tuned, recover and save all my energy for the WTF, that's when it truly counts anyway. - As The World Turns Discussion Thread
