Glad I never got too into Avenatti. When I read about some of his financial dealings (I posted the article here a few months ago in this thread), he started to look like a shady and unsavory character to me. Maybe this will weed him out of thinking of a 2020 presidential run. This should have no bearing on Stormy Daniels, even though I'm sure the GOP is trying to connect the two, somehow.

Thank God this kid survived! One thing that so many of my relatives abroad are just beginning to understand is how perilous it is to simply be Black and living in the U.S. where your life can be in jeopardy or ended simply for being Black and living! It's insane! It's not that black women were in love with HRC, we recognized her weaknesses as a candidate but we also knew that it would get so much worse with a man like Trump in the White House. A lot of people asserted that only certain groups of people would be in jeopardy and they wouldn't be affected-- well, they were wrong. The flames of hatred are being fanned in many directions and many groups of people who believed that it wouldn't touch them are now discovering quite the opposite.

The GOP tax cuts, which will likely come as a surprise to no one, have so far, failed to live up to most of their promises. Proponents of these tax cuts claim that it will take awhile to see measurable success for real people but in the meantime, the deficit (which the GOP used to claim to care about) continues to explode, soaring to levels not seen since the U.S. was trying to pull itself out of the Great Recession. Were Bernie's quotes about low information Southern black voters also a misrepresentation? He has built up a solid history of statements and gestures to show him to be dismissive of the issues that are of concern to marginalized groups, particularly those of color and women. Bye to him! Anyhoo, looka here...but am I surprised that HRC would get raked over the coals for something that like many other men have done and likely continue to do? Absolutely not.

He's being dragged across social media right now, although I'm not sure of the age spectrum involved, I suspect that it may be far and wide. Someone tagged Gillum with a Killmonger GIF that said "Is this your king?!" When I saw that Sanders had easily won reelection, I knew it wouldn't be long before we heard some nonsense from him on some topic. I admit that I was unaware of his campaigning for Gillum (that goes to show how adept I've become at ignoring any and all things Bernie in the last six months or so).
