  1. Many soap creators decided to set their shows in some random midwestern city, including Y&R (Genoa City, WS), which supposedly has at least 3 Fortune 500 companies, two of which are conglomerates, lol. I often wondered why these shows didn't choose a city like Denver, Colorado which is west but closer to Midwest than it is to L.A. Denver was starting to boom as a city that companies were located and relocating to by the 1980s/90s.
  2. I don't think I've watched an entire SOTU since he's been in the WH. Imagine that.
  3. Well, I didn't watch. Then again, I didn't watch last year either.
  4. Also, don't over-exaggerate Iowa's importance to the point that you drive out candidates that could have sustained interest in the primaries before the primaries even begin. As it is, I'm hearing about low-turnout at yesterday's caucus.
  5. Boy, I'm glad I didn't stay up to try to track this mess! Yesterday, there were whispers that it was going to be a clusterf*ck and I believed it, so I didn't bother to try to track what was going on last night, knowing the mess would likely spill over into a new day. The Bernie Bros and the Trumpists are having a field day. I've only been casually following things lately and even I've noticed this. It's really time for the Democratic party to acknowledge that we're in the 21st century and a 19th-20th century presidential primary system built solely for white men might not work that well for a party that tries to tout diversity.
  6. Oh yeah, I realize that. I hardly watch T.V. these days and still manage to catch her in something. She also does voice-overs as well. I remember hearing her voice on ads and a couple documentaries.
  7. Hey, you don't have to convince me. I was responding to a post saying that her career wasn't very high-profile. I was giving my opinion from a theater perspective as I don't really watch that much television these days.
  8. Julianne Moore moderates a discussion with survivors of gun violence on PeopleTV. https://peopletv.com/video/gun-violence-survivors-speak-out/
  9. Serena was not on my list to win this tournament this year, so the vainglorious boasts won't upset me. Calling her a cow seems a bit on the misogynoir-ish side though. As I said before, I slept very soundly throughout this tournament. I don't see what other people have to get upset about. *shrugs*. If the interest isn't there, it just isn't. No amount of perceived boasts or insults will make it so. ESPN persists in trying to sell that 3rd rate ESPN+ service. That's a "no" from me.
  10. Bless. I'm sure that ESPN/TC will appreciate that someone enjoyed the tournament.
  11. I've never gotten this much sleep through an Australian Open since they started showing night matches. I think I saw about a handful of matches the entire fortnight. I swear, if they don't speed up these damn courts...
  12. The latest chapter in the ongoing saga of the City Ballet sexual misconduct allegations, firings, reinstatements and the subsequent push-back by and reordering of the careers of the male dancers who were accused of sexual misconducts.
  13. (*Ahem*) The article that I posted about 5-6 weeks ago discussed the possibility of 'Choose Your Own Adventure' type of programming being used by companies to market their products (a la Black Mirror Bandersnatch). And oh, lookie- I knew I posted this article for a reason and I had P&G in mind too.
  14. Presumably this is most of the cast.
  15. Mary Ellen Stuart appears in this partial episode sporting quite a huge helmet of hair! Nobody show Mitch.😂
  16. It's like they were waiting for most of the POC candidates to end their campaigns before doing this.
  17. There is a chance that the White House will move to block or censor Bolton's book. There is an equally likely chance that some entity (*wink wink*) will leak the book (or the censored/deleted parts) in response, should that happen.
  18. Got a hankering to watch an episode of Capitol and came across this AT&T commercial with William LeMassena and realized that I remember this commercial distinctly, was very fond of when I was a child but during that time, never made the connection with Ambrose Bingham (in my defense I was just a kid). I know that LeMassena was the second Ambrose but I believe he was already in the role when this commercial aired. Anyway, this commercial always exuded such warmth to me.
  19. Oh, so now folks are complaining about the messed up DNC criteria?? (*shrugs*)
  20. Trump's defense team (who seems to be mostly going through the motions) seems to want to make this about Hunter Biden and his perceived "corruption".
  21. Man, you know these episodes inside/out!! 😂
  22. I remember that line too as well as Willona's expression while saying it, lol. I think it was to that crooked Alderman Davis, while we're on the subject of corrupt politicians.
