EastEnders: Discussion Thread
You're right about Carol. She's difficult to write for but I do want to see more. I love Carol and it's a shame that the Billie story ended quickly. She's going to be involved in Bianca's exit but I'd still like more. There are rumors about Diane Parish quitting. I hope that doesn't happen; I love Denise and her relationship with Kim.

It was hard to scan the words as the page was big, so I just cropped the photo and will type this out. It's from the November 26, 1991 Weekly (K-III Magazines). It's a Moonlighting, Star Track piece, Life After Daytime, on Zina Bethune. Written by Valerie Davison.- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Ken's gay grandson James, played by William Roache's son, is returning. http://www.itv.com/coronationstreet/news/jamesroachereturns/ Since ITV only presents asexual gay men, does that mean: a) this is a brief visit which will have nothing to do with his sexuality? b ) he will settle down into a platonic, never seen relationship with Sean? c) Will he be horrifically injured as soon as he arrives in Weatherfield (TROLLEY CRASH!!!!! - also "ironic", since Ken once pushed trolleys), making him paralyzed from the neck down?- Neighbours: Discussion Thread
What do you think of Steph's story? I know some are upset about Karl's behavior, and some were upset with Libby too earlier.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Watched Friday's episode. I can see why people were saying most of Ryan's bed scenes looked like he was jerking off under the covers. Most of those scenes were really bad. I'm not sure if those scenes would work with anyone but I remember Matt Littler/Max from Hollyoaks doing a better job. On the other hand, Charlie Brooks was fantastic. She developed some bad habits over the last year or two but I think they've gone away in the last four or five months, and she has many strong little moments which convey what Janine is feeling without being a joke. I wish they'd developed a relationship between Ronnie and Stacey months ago. Their scenes were great. Stacey leaving the stroller in the middle of the road was ludicrous. Was anyone else surprised at how fast Glenda was back in Walford, and in the middle of a whodunit? I thought more time would be taken to possibly have her life in danger. The pacing is so fast on some of these stories, like Janine poisoning Ryan in about a week. For me the best part of all that was Shirley's reaction to Phil accusing Jay. Moments like that are when Shirley is at her strongest. Loved the Dot/Fatboy stuff.- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
It's all very attention-seeking at all costs, which ultimately turns into sour milk. I don't mind grit if it's in the right place, but it just seems so false, like the bad camp joke they turned Molly's funeral into. Everything is plot plot plot and stunts, with nothing underneath. The show is kind of starting to remind me of Santer's Eastenders. I also wonder if they're going back to Hilda Ogden's exit, except for the part which was somewhat happy (going off with Dr. Lowther). Maybe it will be a good story, I don't know. I keep thinking about Selena's exit story from GL, which I loathed.- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos

From the February 12, 1994 Soap Opera Magazine (SOM Publishing Inc). The caption that was cut off says: Louise Sorel: "The smoke and the smell was the worst part of the fire scenes for me. And the physical fighting. But emotionally, by a long shot, the previous scene in the operating room, being prepared for brain surgery was far more emotionally upsetting to me. Having my head in the restrains was terrible!" And that skin-head look. Yikes!- Y&R: Old Articles

For some reason I thought Lloyd Batista took over for Ray Wise. I guess I got that mixed up because of the name Ray. What did you think of LOL around the time of this article? Do you remember Marsha Mason's role? Odd that they didn't mention her brief cameo on Dark Shadows as a vampire in 1970.- Another World Discussion Thread

That's all fascinating stuff. Sometimes I wonder if at that time there was such a move for new and different that they expected too much of viewers, expected viewers to give up too many relationships or characters who compelled them. How did you feel about Ben's prison rape story? That's when the character was reformed wasn't it? I wish I knew more about Vivian Carlson. How long was her character around? What did you think of Ray Wise? Did you think his replacement was as good in the role of Jamie? I was also going to ask what you thought of the actor who played Rick before Jerry Lacy.- Passions Discussion Thread

So true. I think that fashion is dull now and has been for a long time, but the popularity of artists like Beyonce, Rihanna and Lady Gaga among others shows that a lot of people still want to see vibrant colors and clothes. And the stuff in that Y&R photo is sedate by late 80s standards. You see the boobs first and everything else last. You probably already have this but in one of these from the late 70s I have a black and white photo of her at the beach in the waves, boobs ahoy (I guess it was the black and white version of a color poster?). I will try to post that when I find it again.- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
I'm not sure either. I think she's said in the past that she wants to stay. I won't miss Becky at this point, although she can at least act. - Love of Life Discussion Thread
