I respect that Nixon worked so hard to get to the point where she had this show she could use to tell stories that she enjoyed - and she wasn't wrong about the popularity of this genre with the broader public, even if this one didn't have the same big response.

Thanks so much for letting us know. I have always been interested in seeing more of this even though I am not a big fan of John O'Hurley, and just seeing more of this period in general. I do prefer episodes over clips but I can't exactly be demanding when this era is very difficult to find. Someone in the comments claimed the story killed the show because the first year had been seen as promising and this was a laughingstock. I wonder if that's true. I can't argue about any of that story - I had stopped watching OLTL by that point and have only seen clips, which look awful. His name was Mark, yes. I mainly remember him for doing a striptease, which I think Viki watched...? Eva joined GH as a character named Natalia. Natalia was the manager (?) to her lesbian daughter, Blaze, who was a big recording star. She wanted Blaze to stay in the closet for her career and she also morally disapproved of homosexuality. This led her to have conflict with Blaze's girlfriend, Kristina Corinthos, made worse because Kristina was a surrogate mother at the time and thinking of keeping the baby for herself and Blaze to raise. Blaze was outed by Ava, Kristina lost the baby while arguing with Ava, and Blaze then left town. Natalia stayed and is dating Sonny while her crime boss ex husband is arriving in town. I think (someone else will know more) we are now meant to believe she regrets her behavior.

I do end up thinking of his Mallet as a brand-new character.

Considering how many times Shawn has been written out, I'm not sure it would do much for her, but maybe. I wish they had taken the opportunity to recast Shawn again at some point. I don't think Beemer has ever had the spark that the character should have had. The best I can say is he isn't afraid to look his age.

I did think Gina and Rob Bogue worked, but I wasn't watching regularly. I don't really remember feeling like Wendy clicked with much of anyone, whether family or romantic. Maybe Kevin Mambo, early on.

I can see how the schedule of DAYS would be enough to make him want to stop. We joke about cheapness and taping 5 years ahead, but they are actually living it. And he's lived it for a decade.

Watching the latest Locher Room and it was mentioned by Suzy Cote that Calista Flockhart tried out for Sam Marler (Guiding Light). Jocelyn Seagrave recently moved back to Los Angeles and said she ended up getting an audition at B&B. She didn't say which part.

A segment on a Dynasty lookalike contest at about 25 minutes. The woman who says she looks like Joan Collins pre getting her nose and teeth fixed made me laugh.

It doesn't really make sense for Julie to become as nasty as she did just because she cheated on Dylan and got dumped, but I do enjoy the material. It helped that she hated Lucy, and so did I at that time. Speaking of that, Suzy Cote and Jocelyn Seagrave are on Locher Room tonight at 7:30 EST.

That's a sweet story about his mother. We always need more stories about the generational power of soaps.

There's that whole Bachelor ecosystem, they go on all the reality shows (even ones not run by ABC/Disney), but I don't know either. Mulcahey did work hard to make Nina a more vital player. It's a shame. I agree they may as well write her out at this point if this is the best they can do.

He was the runner up on the Golden Bachelorette. The Golden Bachelor was a hit (although that was also during the strike), so I guess it shows some support ABC still has for GH to have the current one appear, but I agree it's a huge waste of talent. Why this regime doesn't want to use Cynthia Watros I don't know. (I do think they use Maura, somewhat - it's just nothing with that character ever really makes a lot of sense) Interestingly he had actually jokingly asked a Bachelor producer about being on GH, because he used to watch in college. And then a few weeks later Valentini and Dominic Nuzzi got in touch. At least he does seem to have some respect for the show, I guess. I hope it works out better than most of Griffith's choices have, as Flynn would be an asset to Y&R.

Starting at around 8 minutes into this you get some glimpses of AW's backstage, including Ann Wedgworth and maybe Jordan Charney rehearsing. And a brief, beautiful moment where the camera pans over the cast portraits that lined one of the walls. So powerful to get this short glimpse of the factory of legends. I got the sense it was more implying Flynn knows DAYS is almost done and is moving elsewhere, as Wright did. So that's where I think if he was, I wish he'd gotten a role that will likely last a year and change at most given Y&R's path with new hires.

Sorry, I didn't mean Y&R would be canceled, I meant I don't know if his part on the show will last longer than a year, maybe a year and a half. Most don't for new high-profile hires.

Not to mention Jamey Giddens. They will always be a cloud over that show for me, such toxicity rewarded. I could believe that. I have seen some claims this is like when Laura Wright left GL for GH, but Carly was a very sure character (even if the actress before Wright had not lasted long). Going to Y&R for a role that may not last even the lifespan of DAYS (even if DAYS just has a year or two left) isn't exactly the same.

Peacock itself is a site that is straining to survive, so I'm not sure how much that matters. I do hope DAYS can survive. It has survived so many death sentences. If they need budget cuts, I could give them about 5-10 names right off the bat. I also wouldn't be surprised if Steve and Kayla go again, as they always seem to do when the budget craters.

I would say that's not a bad idea, but I think Kristina is just beyond repair and needs to go for a few years.

I don't think it's that different from when the show would have so many bands pop in and out of Luke's club (not BB King, of course - I mean some of the dregs by the end of the decade or the start of the next one), just publicity for a different era. More people probably follow Golden Bachelor, or Stephen A Smith, than follow GH right now. Still, it doesn't improve the show. Is it just me or are most of the comments on that video some kind of bots?

Thanks. I don't really watch enough to know of Audra but I do appreciate the Diane return. Those stories were so gruesome...and the rape story took place in the Horton living room.
