  1. I saw the start of an episode where Vanessa was begging Ross to not go do some freedom fighter routine because Jessie was their daughter. I suppose this makes sense as a fakeout, but they might have had more short-term story out of Jessie being their daughter given his relationship with Calla.
  2. Sorry to hear that. I listen to I'm Gonna Make You Mine at least a few times a year.
  3. Thanks for letting us know! I will have to try to make this one.
  4. Thanks. Crazy that only has 59 views. Hopefully it will get more now.
  5. They did, yes. Grillo was actually married to another woman when they first got together, I believe. I haven't watched that era of GL in full but I do enjoy Tognoni's take. She is a real live wire but also capable of vulnerability. I didn't watch her on Y&R but it's remarkable to me because her work as Dinah is the complete opposite of her work as Kelly on OLTL. That's how I tend to feel. I'm sure working conditions were terrible and Wheeler was a lot to deal with, but that was one of Reva's better periods since the '80s, even if she was going around yanking organs out of baby mamas with drugged tattoos, or whatever the hell that story was. Zimmer just felt natural for that tone of the show. She was never a traditional soap heroine. A part of me does wish they'd taken her bait and written her out over someone like Ross or Holly...although neither of them were that heavy in story anyway (I guess Ross had a bit with Dinah's return, and Holly with Sebastian).
  6. I agree the audience will never accept him - aside from a few people who enjoyed Nina/Drew, I've only ever seen abject hatred for Cameron's version of Drew when I go to Twitter. And even the praise tends to be love to hate at various places. Drew does need to be toned down a little, but I wouldn't change the character too much in order to give him an ally in the Q family, I would just bring in someone else who might be amoral and like him doesn't fit in with most of the current Q mainstays. Maybe a modern variation on Alexandria (just with less global conquest plans).
  7. Thanks. Very hard to watch those scenes now. Andrew was such a pure, wonderful character. A rarity on soaps. And one that was very unique to the spirit of OLTL, while it still had that spirit.
  8. Thanks for finding this. I don't think Patsy was ever the best actress, but she had a real earthiness and intensity that made you care - there was never a phoned in moment with her. I can imagine the heavy taping schedule with no time for rehearsal or anything else just worsened her fears. This was probably one of the last believable times for Kim to return, with John's death and Bo waking from his coma, so I doubt we'll ever see her again. If that is Patsy's choice, I can respect her wishes, even if I wish we'd get one last goodbye.
  9. I think it may have been down to personality issues. Gottlieb seemed to rub a number of people the wrong way. Gottlieb was good for Viki, overall, but that isn't what an actor is going to remember. I initially thought Gottlieb was referencing the plane crash Clint had but this must have been something else. I assume he didn't actually get plastic surgery... Her last line just breaks your heart.
  10. I think one of the issues with Drew and the Quartermaines is there's no one in the family who likes him or even tolerates him. If they ever want to dial the character down a little, then the next new/old Quartermaine they bring in could form some type of bond with him.
  11. Thank you for sharing the obit. You can tell this isn't one they had prepared for years.
  12. Thanks for sharing. That's very moving. Erika and Chris had a good bond onscreen so I'm glad to know they have offcamera too. I'm not always a fan of wink wink reunion scenes but I might take that back here.
  13. Amazed that this is currently listed as a hot thread. If only some exec would see that and order a GL revival...
  14. It's certainly something Maureen sinks her teeth into. There were rumors that around this period of time the show wanted to do a Josh/Cassie pairing, but Zimmer or fans or whoever did not care for the idea. There are several moments in this period and earlier in 1998 which drop big hints (I believe in this story Josh was drugged to have feelings for Carrie and then months earlier they'd bonded during yet another insane Reva crisis).
  15. Blake and Ross were married and had just reconciled after a very bad patch (she had slept with Rick Bauer and for a period of time thought she'd had his child) when Ben arrived in Springfield. He was a brother Ross had never known. He soon clashed with Blake, and there was a palpable attraction between them which led to an affair and her being split from Ross. Holly was having an extended mental breakdown at this point, targeting various "bad" mothers as the Nursery Rhyme Stalker. Ben suspected Holly's brother Ken of being the Stalker. Holly drugged Ben. He nearly drowned in his bathtub until Blake saved him. At the time of what you are watching, Ben had just found out about Holly being the Stalker as she'd blurted out the truth to Blake while ripping up her lingerie. This is a different Ben.
  16. It would be funny if after all this they did decide to bring him back. I'm sure Kate could use a visit.
  17. Thanks. I should have thought to look there. I didn't think any would have been saved. A shame not all of them are but this is a chunk at least. If it helps any, some of the more specific years for the Scruples guest stars or regulars: Lisa Wilcox - started in November 2008 Sean Kanan - started in November or December 2008 Mark Arnold - started in November 2008 Kale Brown and Anna Holbrook - September 29, 2008. Anna's character is Maggie Zegas. Anne Sayre, Sara Maraffino, Tom Baran are all listed as new for 2008 I think Jill Larson, Brody Hutzler, Tristan Rogers and Gerald Hopkins also started in 2008 but I'm not 100%.
  18. I had that problem too. This is their new site. We Love Soaps TV — welovesoaps.tv
  19. I forgot they overlapped. I thought the Dobsons were mad because she objected to the Dash/Augusta material.
  20. I'm sure it wasn't a great set. I just meant the situation may have been different when Kim was working with him compared to AW and OLTL.
  21. I actually think Dante overall looks worse in this story than Lulu, for the reasons you mentioned. Yes, the show probably does prefer Setton to Havins, but I think most of her actions are in character and they do try to give some space (for instance, they could have had her tell Gio the truth out of spite - Luke would have - but instead they did the old overhear). Dante's reactions feel more contrived.
  22. I suppose Rauch may also not have been behaving that way by the time of GL. We've heard some very toxic stories/allegations about women from his time at AW and OLTL but not as much at his later soaps. I wonder if Kim also had a good relationship with him at SB, even if she disliked the experience.
  23. Thanks @Maxim . Mia Korf was such a dynamic screen presence. I liked Karen Witter a lot too, even if the writing wasn't the best. Thanks for the recap @Paul Raven I'm glad to know Karen's story entrance. Never did until now. I wonder if the show ever remembered in later years that Brad was a big tennis player.
