Today looks like a so-so day for ATWT....

Today we get to see how Mike and Katie learn what happened while they were gone...How will Mike take the news about Jennifer?

Dusty continues his obsession with Emily; as well as Paul, who can't stop talking non-stop about sticking it to her. Will Emily actually pay for her crimes, or will someone set her crazy butt free?

More teen angst and drama to be seem (YAWN).

I can not believe the same writers wrote today's TRASH, that wrote all of that beautiful stuff last week and early this week. Today truly sucked. Mike and Katie-Boring, Emily/Dusty/Paul/Meg-boring,who cares anymore, Casey and Maddie-boring, not to mention at the end of the show we have Dusty coming in to save yet another criminal in Oakdale from going to jail. My only highlight today was Jade. ( Where is my Luke when I need him)

I hate that Dusty is gonna help Emily walk!

The writing has been on the wall for weeks that Dusty would not press charges against Emily and yet they continue to drag this out. I was sure we would have some resolution today, but nope. What a waste that whole story was except for Cass's screentime which I always cherish.

Psycho Maddie does nothing for me, but enjoy Casey/Margo as son/mother.

Mike hears about Jennifer and then suddenly leaves? Does he go to her grave? Hell no, he instantly forgets and go picks up his wedding rings? What a loser. Ugh.

There must be some kind of research out there that shows fans can't get enough Paul/Emily/Dusty/Meg. I'm happy for those fans, but I hate them all.

I have never been a big Jennifer fan but that was a horrible. Matie looked so selfish and uncaring.

I am not feeling the Maddie is crazy storyline. And I wish Henry would be a little more involved with her. And Susan was an idiot for kicking Emily's only friend, Henry, out of the courtroom.

I hate saying this but I hope Emily doesn't carry the baby to term. Pem baby needs to disappear.

One thing about MightyMouseMike that stays consistant is the fact that IMO he is a JERK. I can't wait for him to get his comeuppance. As for Katie---- the words to describe her get fewer and fewer with each passing day. I can't wait for her to get what's coming her way either. The only thing she didn't do was call Craig with the news.

Now how did Carly get into the house---- did she break in???? Oh never mind, just a few weeks ago (during the Nick era) Katie was all up in Carly's face, today, they were best friends again. I cannot wait or I should say--- I HOPE CARLY HOOKS UP WITH SIMON. causing Katie to have a s--t fit.

That was really stupid and the writters did a piss poor job with that one. Matie was terribly tacky today.

The PEM child is already the most hated child in Oakdale, and it hasn't even arrived yet. I still can't believe that the spawn was responsible for Johnny living. That poor child is never going to hear the end of it, is he? PEM Baby will wreak havoc in Oakdale, yet everyone will be saying, "Well, he/she saved his/her cousin's life!"

Surprisingly, there are people who love PEM. I don't understand it.

Yet another reason why Mike and Katie both suck.

Wow, and I thought it was the best episode all week, LOL.

I totally understood the Matie stuff. After hearing about Jennifer, Mike realized the whole cliched sentiment that one day someone can be there, and the next day they could be gone. That's what prompted him to go shopping with Nancy to get Katie's ring. I thought was it was sweet.

The courtroom drama actually had me intrigued today, and I can't stand Paul and Meg for the life of me, so they must have done something right today. Roger Howarth, if you are listening, please, PLEASE, stay looking the way you did in today's episode. No shoulder-length hair and no facial hair either. I'm not too much a fan of your acting, but I'm willing to let that go if you look nice.

I agree. Roger looks a thousand times better when he's clean-shaven and in a suit. I swear, it does help, even a little bit, w/ the character. I can take Paul a little more serious when he doesn't look like a bum.

Also, today wasn't a complete disaster. I felt like yesterday was more pointless than today. At least today wasn't dominated by PEM&D crap (Dusty is now added to the dreaded trio). Besides, look how many vets we saw today.

As for Mike's reaction, I don't think it was that awful. But it certainly doesn't help his character. I still can't stand him. Sometimes, though, that sadness will come back and bite you in the butt...trust me.

Mike proved today what a jerk he still is, does he go and see Jenn's family? The baby? Her grave? Go give his condolences to someone? No, he makes it all about himself and Katie was just as bad. So self involved but I guess he didn't care when she was alive, can't expect him to care now that she's died.

What a non-reaction, if I ever saw one.

Does Mike ask Nancy about how Jen's family is doing (since he might be tactful enough not to bother his ex-inlaws, although none of them seem to give a fig about him since the divorce anyway)?

NOPE...the only thought in their pretty little heads is getting Katie a new shiny rock for her finger and lamenting on how Simon ruined their honeymoon. And in this case, I don't really even blame them. It's the writers keeping everyone in their separate little story bubble.

It's not the characters' reactions I'm disappointed at....I'm disappointed that the writers make it a point not to dig back into history and use that stuff....unless of course, it's propping up a story.

You got it good while a son (her nephew) is without a mother, parents have lost their only daughter, siblings have lost a loving sister and a newly wed husband lost his wife. That is one thing I can't stand about this couple, they are made to look self-absorbed. I hope they don't ever have children (although as much as they have sex, I'm surprised they haven't had one ) . Someone pointed out on another board if you were to go back the three years that they have been together and totally erase it, it wouldn't shake the canvas of the show because they have been isolated for so long. Do you guys agree with that?

Yeah, I agree Mike/Katie could leave tomorrow and nothing would be affected. Unfortunately, you can say that about anyone on the show. Craig's leaving only had impact because of Johnny; as does Jen's. But look at Molly's, Dr. John's, Rosanna's or Dr. Ben's leaving....nothing really changed around Oakdale at all. Rose's death really didn't even affect anyone other than Lily and Holden, and she was a freakin' air-hog for years. It's not that the leavings don't affect story, it's that the writers just don't write the consequences for that story. At the time of Ro's death, Paul was deeply still in love with her, no matter how he denied it. He regretted not being able to tell her that. In this last year, he's had two other lovers since. Sure, it caused a two-week speed bump for him and Emily; but as of last week, he lumped her in with the either "dead or crazy" wreckage of his love life. And Carly hasn't dealt with it at all. Not in any obvious way at least. (I always blame her overreaction to Gwen on Rosanna's loss...) But just a couple of weeks ago, she said something about how she couldn't imagine Holden's feelings with Lily in a coma...it's like HUH???? HER sister's in a coma in Switzerland!!!!!!!

And bless your bravery on that "other" board. I've been there....it's not pretty. (And I'm convinced Mike's shooting blanks. LOL...*crosses fingers*)
