DAYS: Call him Patch!

I personally wouldn't mind Bo or some of the younger people calling him Patch.

I had no idea until recently that anyone referred to him as Steve except Kayla, Jo, and Adrienne.

Even with Bo, I remember a time when Dr. Neil Curtis was talking to Steve because he had an head injury and he was calling him "Patch", and Bo jumped in and said "call him Steve, his name is Steve". So to me (and that's just me) , it just wouldn't seem right for some reason.

With the younger ones, I don't really see it either, because they would refer to him as what they learned from their parents, and in most cases after he married Kayla, he was just "Steve" to them all. Even Max always called him Steve.

I can see someone like Victor or Stefano or maybe someone from his past pre-Kayla calling him "Patch", but other than that, It would just seem a little odd to me.

Right, they might call him Patch, and it wouldn't be used as a term of endearment. No one would call him Patch today because he is not the man he was when he first appeared in the 80s. He's not a menacing presence. He's a confused presence.

I'd like to see someone tell him about the nickname, about how he wanted people to call him that at one time, and maybe explain to him that he was a troublemaker back then. (Maybe they already did, and I missed it). But he's not that man anymore. And he wasn't when he "died" either. He was a kinder, gentler man. Apart from the nostalgia factor, and Patch and Kayla "supercouple" factor, calling him Patch would not keep the story in the present. And apart from watching those old clips from the 80s, we really can't go back.
