All I know is that I enjoyed the show with Meredith and Star, always have. I have no interest in watching fat !@#$%^&*] Rosie running across my TV basically trying to revive her old talk show (which I hated).

I just saw Ryan Seacrest on E! News discussing Star's dismissal. He mentioned The View's low ratings. Does anyone know how low the ratings are? (all this time I thought they were decent).

I suspect the ratings will go up a bit when Rosie starts (mainly people will be curious) but I'm not sure how high they will get. I'm not sure what to make of Rosie's *popularity quotient* right now. Personally I can't stand her.

I hate Rosie that dumb cow!@#$%^&*]! I would think that the ratings would go down when she came on board. She used to be popular, but then everyone found out what a vicious c**t she is during that trial!

I cant stand Rosie and I think the show's ratings will go down as well. I expect this to be The View's final season. People did watch for the women and the chemistry between them but with two thirds of the group gone now, the show will be unrecognizable. I didnt count Hasslebeck as she adds nothing to the show and Walters is rarely there, except recently since it went down to 3 and now 2. Hate Starr all you want, but she did help make the View what is as did Meredith and Joy. Those 3 were there from day one and it was already a big blow having Meredith gone but Star out is the final nail on the coffin. She does have her fans who watch for her, as people who hate her who also watch for her and her comments.

I think Walters should have just retooled the whole show. Keep Joy and bring on 3 new women, not Elizabeth or Rosie as they are annoying. Bring 3 new viewpoints from different backgrounds as the original concept of the show was. Yeah it would have been daring but I dont think they have much to lose especially with all this negative backstage drama they are going through now.

Speaking of Rosie, I found this bit and it makes me dislike her more, not that I liked her anyway

Rosie O'Donnell Blasts Kirstie Alley

O'Donnell Blasts Kirstie Alley

By WENN| Thursday, March 17, 2005

HOLLYWOOD - Former chat show queen Rosie O'Donnell is waging a fat war on Kirstie Alley

after claiming the former Cheers beauty is much heavier than the 210 pounds she claims to weigh.

O'Donnell actress admires Alley for poking fun at her inflated size in new Showtime comedy Fat Actress, but O'Donnell wants the Look Who's Talking star to be more honest.

O'Donnell says, "I am telling you right now, I'm 218 pounds--Kirstie Alley is not 210. She's a lying sack of s**t. "At least tell the truth. She's gotta be like 248 (pounds)."

I agree the show should have been retooled Cheap.

I loved Joy's reaction to Star's removal. Hehehe. She had so much glee.

Now, I see what was with all of her ABC Daytime asskissing when Brian Frons was there and Carolyn Hinsey slammed GH during the Emmy Nominations. Meredith even called her on it.

No doubt, THE VIEW is gonna need some star power or at least someone of a completely different background. I'd love to see a Black Moderate/Conservative female on the panel just to see Rosie and Joy's heads explode and to see more squabbling at the table.

Someone at YouTube suggested THE APPRENTICE's Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth. Now wouldn't THAT be worth watching?! LOL.

they wouldnt have the balls to put Omarosa on there but if they did, Ii would definetly tune in! I can see her just picking on Elizabeth to the point where she quits and it would be the battle of the !@#$%^&*]es between Omarosa and Rosie. LOVE the idea!

Star's been asked not to return.

And then there were three.

In the advent of fond morning farewells and monthlong congratulatory send-offs, it's practically refreshing to see someone as unceremoniously booted from a show as Star Jones Reynolds claims to be from The View.

Just a day after Reynolds announced on air that she would be leaving the femme-fueled chatfest in July after nine years as cohost, her exit date was moved up.

"It is becoming uncomfortable for us to pretend that everything is the same at this table," View maven Barbara Walters said Wednesday. "Therefore, regrettably, Star will no longer be on this program."

On Tuesday morning, Reynolds said, "The View is now moving in a new direction, and I will not be returning this fall--but wherever I go, I will carry a lifetime of memories with me."

While the statement itself seemed harmless enough, it was how--or rather, when--Reynolds made it that was part of the problem.

Reynolds was not supposed to reveal the news of her departure until Thursday and surprised both the audience and her cohosts by preempting her own announcement.

"This is truthfully a very difficult day for us and a sad day for us," Walters said. "We didn't expect her to make this statement yesterday. We were given no warning, we were taken by surprise."

Reynolds also apparently gave Walters & Co. no warning about comments she made to People that were published before the end of Tuesday's show.

"What you don't know is that my contract was not renewed for the 10th season," Reynolds told the magazine. "I feel like I was fired."

She continued her public speaking out Wednesday morning, when she called in to Ryan Seacrest's L.A. morning radio show.

"We had always planned to make the announcement this week," she said. "We had planned to make it on Thursday. But I woke up on Tuesday morning and after so much media, so much speculation, it was time for me to say goodbye right now."

Reynolds further claimed that she was asked immediately after Tuesday morning's show not to return to the network, despite original plans to stay on through July 13.

For her part, Walters told the Associated Press shortly after Tuesday's show that she said she felt blindsided and "betrayed" by the unplanned announcement. "I love Star and I was trying to do everything I could--up until this morning when I was betrayed--to protect her," said Walters.

"I would have loved for Star to have left and not said 'I was fired' and not make it look like the program was somehow being cruel to her."

As for Reynolds, she told Seacrest that she didn't quite understand Walters' reaction.

"It's a little shocking to me that Barbara feels betrayed," she said. "If you watched me yesterday, I said that she was the most amazing mentor and thanked her for the most amazing opportunity.

"My departure was orchestrated some time ago, and while I can accept any business decision, it's hard to accept the manner in which it was handled during the last two months. But if you use words like betrayal, if anyone should feel betrayed, it should be me! Barbara didn't have my back."

As for Rosie O'Donnell's rumored role in Reynolds' ousting, both Walters and Reynolds agree that Meredith Vieira's successor had no hand in driving Reynolds away.

Though it still smarted.

"Rosie insulted me," Reynolds told Seacrest. "She tried to damage me professionally and personally."

Walters told the AP that the decision not to renew Reynolds' contract was prompted by the personality's drop in popularity among viewers, with audiences reportedly turning away from the show in the wake of her drastic and unaddressed weight loss and her unabashed on-air shilling of corporations who sponsored her 2004 wedding to Al Reynolds.

However, Walters said on air that none of this would have come to light had Reynolds not made comments undermining the show.

"[show producer]Bill Geddie and I said to her, 'Handle this any way you want. You can say anything about a new job, you can say anything about a new road. Whatever you say, we'll back you up. We will never say that your contract was not renewed.'

"We gave her time to look for another job and hoped that she would announce it on this program and leave with dignity," Walters said. "But Star made another choice."

Remaining cohosts Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck remained mum during Walters' announcement, though the show is clearly moving on quickly. The chatfest already removed Reynolds from the credits, though there's been no word on whether replacements will be rotated in to fill the spot. O'Donnell takes over Vieira's role as show moderator Sept. 5.

Ultimately, though, Walters was gracious. "The View helped make Star a star," she said, "and Star helped make The View the success it is."

I should also mention StarZILLA will be appearing on Larry King Live tomorrow.

I want to call in and ask her what it's like to be married to a not-so-down-low brutha'. Hehehe.

What a skank.

I don't see Hassleback lasting more than a year.

With Rosie coming on and possibly Gayle King the poor thing will have a HUGE target on her back and debates/rants/catfights/!@#$%^&*]fests will be a dime a dozen.

Being the only republican must suck.

I'm on Team Babs for this one. Star's behavior in this whole situation is completely unprofessional. Good luck, Stah, finding employment after this debacle!

When the decision came down to fire Star, I truly believe BW had her best interests in mind and wanted Star to leave the show with some dignity. That was a classy thing to do and Star agreed to it. SHE didn't say a peep about this until now.

If Star would've found another job, I guarantee you she wouldn't have gone out and said she was fired. Hell, when she was fired from E!, she denied, denied, denied it.

But now that Star's career prospects are drying up...she tried to milk her story and tried to pull the victim card. Going to People and telling them the story after BW tried to help Star in the first place was a god-damn dumb thing to do. BW was nothing but accomodating to Star and Star decided it wasn't good enough...she had to be the victim.

Good riddance, Star, you ol' freak. Have fun trying to get another job in show biz.

Oh god. I hate that dumb whore too. If I had to choose between Star and Babs, I'd choose Star. Sorry, Babs, ya biatch!

Wow, KR, something you and I can BOTH agree on.

I couldn't STAND seeing Babs give her uppity speech on Star's 'betrayal' today on 'The View.'

Susan Lucci is rightwing but i don't think she would be willing to show her true self. She needs everyone to love her in order to keep on making millions selling stuff on HSN.

Wow, Susan's on my team? I didn't know that. You GO girl!

I cannot stand Rosie.

Good Luck Starr !! I know you will bounce back
